An oldie here, a player that I admired and saw play, but not old enough to see him play for Ipswich.But was fortunate enough to see him play against us for Argyle. That was Andy Nelson. A really good player, who always got a good reception at Portman Road. And of course one can not but mention Paul Mariner who came our way. As you say mate regional clubs with a fantastic fan base. But as Bobby or Sir Bobby Robson used to say, " The problem around here (Ipswich), is that there isn't enough chimney pots". I guess that sums up the problem with many regional clubs.Not just ours.Wishing you and your club well buddy.

In the 1950s my Grandad worked at Carrow Road as a ‘Pusher’. His job was to push the Norwich supporters down the terracing to fit more people into the Ground! I’m surprised such a role existed even back in the 50s.

No contest really- Ipswich's history and pedigree exceeds that of Norwich, difficult to measure with just points, but Ipswich is the bigger more prestigious club mostly due to the amazing period of success year on year with Sir Bobby Robson which overshadows our Norfolk neighbours. We also had Sir Alf Ramsey, who with Robson both went on to become England Managers. Ipswich also had lots of players who played at International level and who remain far better known than Norwich players- too many to name here.
The clubs are very similar. Point system is pretty good up till the honours I think you under score major honours compared to minor ones. Otherwise I can't complain lol

It’s been 14 years since Ipswich beat Norwich. Some fans have literally been born, gone through most of their school lives, and will could very well be married with kids by the time it happens again.
think the best argument for any who's bigger debate is if the world ended tomorrow who had the biggest impact on football, liked this vid although i think some of the rounds are a little flawed e.g. 10 year and 20 year period rounds looking at clubs that have existed for more than 100 years and looking at social media numbers which has only been about during one of these sides times in the prem.

I think it should be all down to what teams have won overall as to who the bigger club is. Currently ITFC have a League championship, an FA cup and the UEFA cup. Norwich have a League Cup. If it's in the last 20 years, fair enough.

Norwich any day of the week, they beat Bayern 1-0 30 years ago and still the most famous victory for an English club in Europe ever. Ipswich have never won anything in the last 30 years. The stats listed for the PL are wrong for Norwich. It would have been 26000 not 19000. Even one season in League One, Norwich had around 26000 average.

I think it should be all down to what teams have won overall as to who the bigger club is. Currently ITFC have a League championship, an FA cup and the UEFA cup. Norwich have a League Cup. If it's in the last 20 years, fair enough.

Thanks Peter for your comments, just because it is a lower level European competition, it doesn’t mean it is harder to win, there are weak European teams in the competition the same as weak teams in our domestic cup competitions 👍🏻
Norwich have had a good 20 years by their standards but have nothing to show for it. The Town have the history (by a country mile) and by the looks of it, the future too.

Norwich any day of the week, they beat Bayern 1-0 30 years ago and still the most famous victory for an English club in Europe ever. Ipswich have never won anything in the last 30 years. Historically Ipswich are the bigger club due to winning the FA and Uefa cup in the late 70s early 80s. Over the last decade or so you would have to say Norwich are the bigger club due to being higher up the league's during that period.

The stats listed for the PL are wrong for Norwich. It would have been 26000 not 19000.
Even one season in League One, Norwich had around 26000 average.
That year you talk about was affected by Covid, hence some games had a reduced capacity or no fans at the end of the prolonged season 👍🏻
