The 19 and newer Forester’s are extremely high in reliability and customer satisfaction.
Add a K&N intake air filter and a Borla or FlowMaster exhaust and you’ll notice more hp, torque and mpg.
We do this on all of our vehicles.
I did it on our 11 Ford Ranger XLT super cab 4X4 with a 4.0L V6 and a 5spd automatic transmission.
Before those 2 modifications we were getting 19mpg on the freeway with the cruise set on 75mph. We now get 24-25 mpg.
Our Outback gained 3mpg and our Rav 4WD gained 2mpg.
Since the Socialist Biden administration is raping Americans at the gas pump, every little bit helps.

The best thing about our Subaru Forester 2020 are:
    1. Bang for your buck even in Trim model (saftey package, engine, awd etc.)
    2. Knowing this car is as safe as a Volvo in a crash (front, side or rear).
    3. Interior space (head room too, if your tall), trunk size & fuel economy.
There is not a lot I can complain about.
If your all about being safe in a car crash, highly recommend this car.

Just bought a 2022 Forester a few months ago and it is the best car we’ve had. So sturdy, comfortable, and smooth. It’s way better than any other car we’ve had. Makes me want to trade in our other car for a Subaru as well.

We have a 2021 Forester Touring and have just over 17,500 miles on it. It has performed great. Like you said, the visibility is wonderful. It is a great car to go for a scenic drive. I find it is comfortable for my 6'4" frame -- even in the back seat I have plenty of room! The cargo area is spacious -- certainly enough for us and the seats fold down quickly just by pulling a switch in the rear cargo area. We have two spaniels and they love going for drives with us. So far, we have zero issues with this car and we look forward to enjoying it for years to come.

I have had four foresters since 2000. I am going to order a 2024 and keep my 08 as a second car. the idea behind the Subaru is to keep it light and fuel economy, enjoyable ride. The traction in the snow is unbelievable. The fit and finish is is very nice. Do not need a turbo. Turbo have lag time and burn more fuel and cost more. The speed limit is the same.😃

Just bought a 2022 because of reliability, comfort, and a bit extra ground clearance since our roads flood in Louisiana. Though I love it, I couldn't find one with the color and features I wanted. Light interior ( which I needed for Southern climates) is not available in their highest Touring trim, so I settled for a Limited. This means no memory seats (couldn't even order it), nor front camera for tight parking spots, which is only on the Wilderness (for off-roaders). Wilderness trims are piling up in Southern dealerships while the others are scarce. Their marketing is not attuned to the needs of an increasing number of suburban Americans who don't off-road and just want a well-equipped SUV and increasing live in Southern climates.

I have a 2021 base model Forester that now has 32,000 miles. This car is far better than anything at this price has any right to be. Consistently get 30 MPG on the highway (I drive quite a bit faster than the speed limit) and it is comfortable even after five or six hours on the road,
I’d like a bigger touchscreen and a bit more volume from the stereo (sounds surprisingly good, just doesn’t get particularly loud), but otherwise I have no complaints whatsoever.

I have a 2019 Forester, and I love it to bits.
Extremely comfortable for me, (I am 6-4 240) it drives smooth, and has been extremely reliable (only niggle so far has been the battery for the start/stop function). It gets decent gas mileage for it's size. (I would have liked it to have a larger fuel tank).
It is quite capable in light off roading (I elected to purchase the undercarriage protection pack).
I highly recommend it. I was contemplating buying the Outback or the Forester, and I think that I would have been just as happy with the Outback (with the exception of it being more limited offroad).

I have a 2017 Impreza Sport that does not consume excessive amounts of oil. That said, most modern engines that use light weight 0w20 and 0w16 oils will consume some oil because the oil is so thin (to maximize fuel economy), but it shouldn't be any more than 1 qt over the change interval. We Love my wife’s Outback as her commuter car and our road car.
If Subaru has a hybrid Forester when my Rav wears out, then I’ll replace it with a Forester Touring. If it’s not available in a hybrid then I’ll buy a Toyota Venza.
It should be noted that we did look at a Venza, Rav and Outback before buying our Subie.
We LOVED the Venza. Our insurance premium would have increased by $1K per year. $700 more per year for the Rav and $300 more for the Outback.
We did NOT like the Rav at all.
The rear view in the Venza and the Rav was horrible. The Subaru has awesome 360 degrees of view and the eyesight is great as well, but the eyesight doesn’t work at all while driving when it’s snowing.
Our Outback is a bit sluggish 2.5L 182hp, but ultimately it does ok. The real fuel economy SUCKS. Subaru says it’ll get 33mpg, but I suppose it would going down a steep hill with a strong tail wind.
One time we got 30mpg but we usually get 27-29mpg on the freeway with the cruise set on 75mph.
My Rav 4WD Limited with a 3.5 V6 with 269hp has a ton of acceleration and we still get 26mpg . Though our Rav has all the bells and whistles, our Outback is more comfortable, but it is a larger car.

The design makes them more susceptible and I'm sure that means really high mileage cars will run into those problems. But most cars also run into a big issue after 200k.

Agree! Hope they abandon the silly and ugly ”space ship” look. Like its designed for 5-year olds. Back to basic simple geometry. Look at the Toyota Land Cruiser 70 series, timeless classy design!

I agree. It looks old and dated just like the depressing grey or death black interior colors

Modern or classic...no they make ugly ones.
They should look at the competition, not to imitate them, but to look different and better.

Take a black Forester Sport and put it next to ANY competitor of your choice. The picture will tell you a lot!

I may be one of only a few, but I prefer the conservative styling of the Forester over the competitors. The swooping lines and severely-sloped back gates all look the same and also limit how much cargo you can load (without breaking the sloped back windows). So, for me, at least, the styling is just fine.

I think for the price Mitsubishi Outlander 2022 is best overall

The only CVT I trust is Subaru. Mitsubishi/Nissan/Renault CVT is the first in line to exclude from the shopping list. And the outlook of the Outlander IMO is dreadfully awful. :)

I like the new outlander too, I've really been trying to get ahold of one! The Renault nissan alliance is a little concerning to me but Mitsubishi tunes everything vastly different from nissan and has used jatco trans in the past with far fewer issues than Nissan. Fingers crossed on the new one.
