Wow! This is like a Christmas present! I loved this Degrassi and Degrassi Jr High when I watched them back in the 80s. As a bullied kid who often had to avoid going to school, these kids on the show felt kind of like my friends. What great shows. I don't recall this documentary being shown here North America.
Thank you so much for posting this! Degrassi Jr High and High was the only teen show my dad would watch with me. We really appreciated the Canadian content, the real teens (not 20 year olds portraying teens) and the realistic storylines. I’m happy Degrassi still lives on.
Degrassi TNG was my favourite show 20+ years ago when I was a kid! The show worked so well because they chose kids with little to no acting experience so the dialogue felt very real.
I can’t believe that degrassi felt so obscure when I was watching it when TNG started coming on. Like so few of my friends and peers had any idea what I was talking about. (I’m from the states.) I’ve been rewatching everything on UA-cam, and it’s still as amazing as I remembered it to be ❤

It’s bittersweet. I grew up on TNG (seasons 1-7) but also watched KODS, DJH,DH, and schools out. I was born in 1990 and started watching TNG in 2002. Didn’t even KNOW there was an original degrassi until The-N/Noggin(network that playing TNG) would play throwback scenes from the original. And of course during the show there would be references

Watching this video really reminded me how much I love the original Degrassi especially Joey Jeremiah😗 I still watch TNG one too, I love that one too. Everything pass season 7 or 8 that’s where I had to force myself watching it
Oh boy. That ending messed me up. Taking about how a new generation will look back at TNG with nostalgia for what life was like. Ugh that time is NOW. I'm not okay.
