Henry grew up at the Kingdom with his brother Benjamin and Ezekiel. Then Carol took over as mom so he's been sheltered and protected most of his life. So that makes sense for his naivety and wanting to save and protect everyone including Lydia. The whisperers did come for Eugene and Rosita first at the tower. They don't have defined borders apparently so how the hell should our ppl know these boundaries, if there is such a thing now. Lydia said they were always gonna kill you so I think they just kill anyone they run into for their own safety, otherwise Walker killing humans would be a big threat!
They do kill tons just for coverage & to keep hidden & safe
Walking With The Dead" is their only way of learning how to survive any threat.... Human or Walkers.....
In this case AJ is correct, they did bring the baby as a shield. Tney did not know if they had guns, but she guessed they were civilized people that would not fire at an innocent baby; that was the baby's reason for being there. yes, she had Alden and the other guy, they were there so they would agree to exchange Lydia.
Guys Henry is younger than Carl was and Carl did a bunch of dumb teenage stuff he still needs to find his way too. And fun fact younger Henry and the Henry now are the real siblings of the actress that played Sophia Carol daughter in season 1 and 2
Not that it matters too much but you’re very wrong. Carl was 12 upon introduction and died at 14. Henry was introduced as a young child and is now around 16-17 due to the time skips.

@@shilohsyniski nope u can use judith as a way to keep time, she was only about 2-3 when carl died meaning only 2 years passed since the first season of the show. it seems like longer because of how long the show was running and the actor going through puberty but carl was supposed to be around 14 in the show when he died. the timeline can get very confusing but not even a whole year passed between the governor dying and the end of the savior war.

Carl was 11 years old when the world went to shit so when he was almost 17 years old.. His contract was up before his contract of season 9 started, it was also cancelled due to him being a adult & AMC didn't want to pay an adult salary not to mention he wanted to pursue his College degree and he said in an interview, Chandler wanted to move on to the next chapter in life & move on with his girlfriend to the next leve of their lives....

Lydia is the best actress I have ever seen for effectively portraying a terrified, abused person. super good job and making you believe what she had been through. I can feel how scared she is and that's a good job acting.
The baby was NOT a shield otherwise why would Alpha allow the baby to get eaten if she needed it for a shield? The baby is there because that is how they live, they don't have houses, where could they leave the baby.... they have to take it with them.

@@zachbrown210 there is literally a flashback of her telling Gamma's sister to bring the baby. She knows they are clinging to the old world and are likely to not attack when they see a baby. And seeing the baby does make Daryl pause. So yes, the baby is a shield, in addition to having the hostages in Luke and Alden. But the baby is what makes Daryl pause first. She has the hostages held back with the masks so you can't tell it's them and the baby is front and center with her. How is it not a shield?

Henry pisses me off too. I agree that it's not right to have to send Lydia back, but in this world what's right and what's best for everybody, even for now, are two different things and he should know this. Yes, he's an idealist like Ezekiel but even Ezekiel is smarter than that. I couldn't believe his character after being raised by Ezekiel and CAROL. Teenager or not, he's old enough to know better. I agree with Prophet, he's young, dumb, in love, and thinking with the wrong head haha.

She definitely didn't use the baby as a shield, they carry all their babies just like in the wild. The baby had nothing to do with anything besides the fact that we rescued it. Then putting the baby down was to show you how animal like they are

It's so funny that yall ranted forever about the Baby when the reality is, Alpha doesnt care about the baby or how the Hiltoppers feel about their own morals or ethics. She didnt calculate it. She didnt plan it. The plan was always 2 for 1 prisoner. The Baby is simply another member of the pack. It's only AFTER they all respond emotionally at the Baby getting left for dead that Alpha took note of their emotions.
The Baby is not worth anymore than any other pack member. The Terminus Cannibals said it best.
Sometimes in nature, a Bear will eat her own Cub to survive. If the Baby dies, the Mother can just have another Cub. But if the Mother dies, the Cub is dead anyways.

He attacked what he thought were walkers. Don't want to be killed? Don't dress up as walker, walk among walkers and then follow them. They had no idea there were humans in there.
Also, Alpha was mad they crossed into her lands, but they migrate and it's not like anyone knew those were her lands.
