- This is our version of the retrofit. We successfully changed the headliner color from grey to black (effectively adding Option S775 or S775A: Headlining anthracite)

the sticker residue was removed using Goo-Gone. and the A pillar was reglued and cleaned. and the "airbag" sign has been replaced with the appropriate color.
Very thorough and detailed guide thank you. I will need to do this because I've had the dreaded blocked sunroof drains that has soaked and stained the headliner as well as the rear carpet area 😒
Also I think the angle of my sunroof glass needs adjusting too as its not sitting flat and tends to jam half way back. I noticed from looking at the alignment marks on the bolts that it has been tampered with before at some point. Will kill two birds with one stone since the glass has to come out anyway. Thank you for producing such a detailed guide because if I had to take the car to a garage for this work I'm sure the cost would render it non-viable and would most likely be going to the scrap yard 😢
very clean e60 spec i’m honestly jealous 🤣
These cars are so old now, I don't think they get what they deserve in terms of appreciation
Did the headliner come out and back in through the trunk? Will be doing the same swap soon
No, it actually came out through one of the rear doors, and if I recall correctly, I think it was the driver side rear.. you will have to bend it, but make sure you don't create any creases and be very careful when bending the headliner while taking it out and placing the new one in... you will also have to maneuver the front seats to their lowest position and I don't remember if it was tilted all the way forward or backward but anyway you will have to move the seats, so make sure you don't disconnect the battery (if your seats are electric)
On the b pillar trim does the top part go on first or the bottom? The top piece has to slide up but it also has to slide down on the lower part
I dont recall exactly. But you're right. It was confusing a little... the way I did it was to put the top ones first, then slide the bottom ones in place, I had to do it a few times to make sure that it's seated properly.
@@CarInspected yes bro it was killing me trying to figure what order it went i just gave up and get to it later i was trying to find a video or a post about it no luck though
Do you wanna sell the roof liner?
The grey one in this video was already discarded. Sorry.
