I got another Funai-built TV/VCR combo the other day from a used electronics shop for $10 USD. Emerson EWC1302, manufactured December 2002. The VCR, obviously, didn't work at first, but after messing around with it, it's all working properly again. Quite a very satisfying feeling to get these old units to work again, eh, Flo?
I got a similar 9-inch, Funai-built TV/VCR combo last night. It's a Philips Magnavox CCA092AT02 with a remote and an antenna. Manufactured October 1999. The VCR wasn't working at first, but I messed around with it and got it to work.
I’ve got a Magnavox 12 inch tv from 1991. I found it in my attic. It used to be my mom’s tv. Works well with a converter box. Just wish we still had analog transmission signals.
I had the identity TV many years ago, they were standard equipment in the sleepers in many transport trucks. Might have the opposite problem the TV had issues, but the VCR was fine, luckily it was just with the sound.
I just got a Emerson TV VCR combo, and the VCR carriage for the tape was dislodged, so I put it back in place, I fixed that at the thrift store, and the VCR worked perfectly, almost, the rewind amd fast-forward were finicky at times, but I fixed that issue, and I've been using it eversince.
I recently got a Symphonic VCR where I had to realign everything and repair the tape flap lift, it has a cheap mechanism than the ones found in VCR DVD combos.
I grew up with this TV from my childhood and still have it today. We used to take this to trips to Florida all the time during long rides and in recent years I've been playing video games on it with my nephew specifically the Super Nintendo. But recently the TV has been not working and keeps shutting off every few seconds. Is there any way that I can repair it some how because this is one of the last CRT's that I still have in my house from my childhood and I really don't want to get rid of it 🙏😭.
Good job getting it fully working. as a small stand alone portable unit it is nice but as fot the bigger 14" - 21" ones I never liked the idea of ending up with a dead VCR attached to a good TV or removing a stuck tape from one.
I have one very similar and sadly I can’t get the vcr to work and I am very inexperienced with this old tech. Do you have any tips cause every time I put a cassette in, it pushes it out and when I press eject and pull, it takes the black film stuff out.
Thanks for the video. My 8 year old loves and collect old electronics. We just picked one of these up and it only turns on via the dc adapter into 12v in our car. When we plug the ac adapter into wall it won’t turn on. We tried unplugging all cables for 10 mins and reconnecting only the AC with no luck. Do you have any ideas of what is wrong? Thank you!
i grew up with mid 90s philps magavox smart series crt tv up untill 2005 when we got 46 inch hd crt tv rear projection philips magavox it was moved to mom and dads fell with my dads dresser that couldn't hold tvs wight broke top housing it also killed tuner so it got junked aslo my ant had magavox from same era
I have a Phillips LCD TV that is at most a TV with Photo playback and Music playback why is there a plastic screen also I seen a Mitsubishi TV with a glass screen over the actual screen once
Hello themaritimegirl, first I hope you see this comment. I just wanted to tell you the following. I like watching your videos, especially your VCR videos, but last year when I posted a comment on your channel and talked about my channel and that I am into VCRs. You told me to stop posting spam on your channel, I didn't feel insulted, but it just left me a bad opinion of you, which is too bad because like I said I like your channel. My point was not to annoy you or anyone but just to create contacts, because we are a small community of VCR guys like me and we all met on UA-cam. I just wanted you to know that. Thank you for your comprehension and have a nice day.
I have no memory of it, but if I did that, then that means you were posting multiple comments telling me to check out your channel, which is something I don't tolerate. Most people who do that are just trying to farm views and subscribers. Obviously your intention was different, but I had no way of determining that. I just did the same thing I do to anybody who posts multiple comments of the same thing.
themaritimegirl Thank you for replying, I understand your point. But I think you should be more open, when you get that kind of comment, you should give it more attention if the comment says what the channel is about and the topic is interesting. I had posted the same comment another time on a video of yours because I didn't get a reply, so I didn't know if you had seen it or not.

I know this is from a long time ago, but can you briefly explain how you fixed it? Just got one today from 1999 that is eating tapes

wow, I didn't realise that TV/VCR combis went this small!

I remember trying to watch the movie Office Space in like 2005-2006 and Blockbuster only had it on VHS, and my only VCR was a TV like this thing
I’ve been looking for one of these. Great find for $6. I’m jealous.

I got one of these, but the audio is quite choppy - especially if it’s on a louder setting… any idea what it could be?

Check for a blown fuse on the main circuit board.

Don't Funai wholly own the Philips brand now? I actually recently bought a new PC and I bought a Philips monitor with it.
Funai doesn't wholly own the rights to the Philips name, but Philips allows them to put the name on their video equipment.
I have a sulvania 13 inch tv/vcr combo. Can the vcr portion be played over to a flat screen tv
If it has an A/V output, then yes. If not, then no.
I don't think ANY TV VCR combo can do that.
Hola a todos!... soy Edgard Ramírez Aguayo, y yo necesito vender un combo tv + vcr de 9" marca Philips y cuesta como $ 89.990 pesos x-fis?...
¡¡¡Vete al demonio!!!!!.-
My Dad had 1 of these except it said "Magnavox" on it.
Ours say April 2001 and 9/23/2001 was my second oldest sisters 5th birthday lol 😆.
That sure is a cool tv!! But I wouldnt put a valuable tape in it!
*Shawn K* said that was the most annoying TV he had because of it constantly shutting down 🤣
I use the antenna holder to hold a flag
Buena Tele video
