      I believe the Daedalus was about 210m and the Hatak was about 1500m. Atlantis was at least 11km though probably closer to 30km. The Baliskner was 2500m and the O'Neill class was 3km.

    Normally I would let this slide, but some of the size errors are so massive that I had to say something...The size numbers used here MIGHT be accurate according to the wiki, but going off of crew size, purpose, and visual size comparison, I would say 70% of the ships are incorrect, 20% of them by entire orders of magnitude. Keep in mind that this is done by memory based off visual size relationships as shown in the series. I could have some of it wrong.
    ---
    The X-301, X-302, Death Glider, Wraith Dart, and Puddle Jumper are all about the same size. The Dart is a single person craft, and all others save the Puddle Jumper are 2-person craft. The Jumper is a transport design rather than a fighter and as such can carry a max of 12 people.
    The relative dimensions will vary somewhat, since the Dart has a long nose, while the other fighters all have excessively wide wingspans, and the Puddle Jumper has extreme miniaturization and is not a fighter which explains it's high troop load for about the same size.
    ---
    Discounting the flagships of Apophis and Anubis, the Ori Mothership absolutely dominates every other vessel in SG-1 based on size and judging just from visual comparisons in the series. Also, the Ori vessels carry crews of hundreds, while Asguard vessels (if I understand correctly) have a crew of exactly 1. An Ori ship is at least 4 times the size of an O'Neil, rather than the other way around as shown in the video.
    ---
    I would estimate that the relationship between the X-304 and Atlantis is about right, since an X-304 lands on Atlantis at least once. However, a Traveler ship, the X-304, and the Lantean Aurora Class are all close to the same width, thus making the Aurora significantly longer because of the length:width ratio of the vessel. I would estimate that the length of an Aurora is about 60% of the radius of Atlantis based on the relative scaling. Also, Atlantis is a civilian city-ship that houses thousands of people and requires 3 ZPMs to operate at full capacity, while an Aurora is a warship with a crew of maybe a couple hundred and generally did not operate on any ZPMs.
    Also, a standard wraith Hive Ship was maybe twice the length of an Aurora, making it's size maybe 30% larger than the radius of Atlantis (or about 65% of the diameter) or smaller. The only Hive vessel that could be this large is the Super Hive from the end of the series that was powered by 2 or 3 ZPMs, which I suspect was a max of twice the diameter of Atlantis, not more than three times.

      Trek Yards did good overviews of several Stargate vessels. There they pretty conclusively prove that the dimensions published for many of them are actually too small to be in proper scale. They got their hands on authentic CG models used in the shows and came up with their own numbers.

      Agree with pretty much everything. One minor correction though... the Asgard ships normally have a full crew (hundreds?), though are able to run on a limited crew as small as 1 person in an emergency (or due to SFX costs, especially early in SG-1's run). Ex. when the Beliskner was infested w/ the Replicators and Thor was running the ship, he explicitly told SG-1 he had beamed the rest of the crew off to save them and stayed behind to destroy the outbound transporters so the Replicators couldn't easily get off the ship and infest Earth.

    • @theblackwidower
      @theblackwidower 3 роки тому +2

      I might be misremembering, but Ori motherships should be about the same width as a 304. And I'm basing this on the fact that, in The Ark of Truth, the Oddysey went through the supergate and the 304 bays nearly touched the edges.

    I like how the two-man fighter-interceptor F-302 class ships are somehow very comparable in size to the multi-deck Prometheus mothership that can carry 8 of them with a crew of over 100 people... Something tells me the scales are a bit off here...

      Just the comparison between F302 and Goa´uld Tel´tak are off. Tel´tak is a cargo ship, where 2 people can sit next to each other in the cockpit, has large cargo hold and plenty of space... i´d guess you could theoretically put multiple F302´s inside and there will still be some space remaining.
      Next one, Al´kesh. And so on...

      Deathglider is 28 feet, not meters. And while the technical size of the Daedalus is wrong as it's listed as being approximately 200m, this size is probably more accurate given the shown size of the hanger bays in the Atlantis series and their relative size compared to the rest of the ship in outward appearance.

    Atlantis is not just 3.7km long, its a freaking city. It even has built in transporters to help you get around, it's that large. And it's definetely larger than an Aroura class.

    • @tytusbombus4110
      @tytusbombus4110 7 років тому +1

      its not that atlantis is small, simply aurora class is a big battleship designed to fight hives ships, no wonder its big as well. though i belive hive ships arent 11km but 12 times bc 304 which shouldnt be as big as 600m but even if it was it would still put hive ship at 7km and not 11km

    • @tuscan9617
      @tuscan9617 6 років тому +5

      you are correct every single number in this video is extremely off, like by a factor of 3 in some cases, bc-304 is not 600 meters, its 200, Atlantis is around the size of an Aurora, but that size never fit and its true size is never given on its wiki page, i found 4000 meters in a spcedock video, but its a city meant to represent one of the greatest technological feats in 4 galaxys which can fly and house thousands... i dont think ive ever actually seen its specific size listed in cannon, so it either 4000-10000 meters, i have no idea, i got the 10000 as in one episode the Deadalus lands on the city and the Deadalus is 200 meters and it seems to be around 50 times smaller then the city, so 50 times 200 equals 10000. Go ahead look at the Atlantis City Ship's wiki, no size. Spacedock video says 4000 meters, i dont believe it, never seen it listed in cannon and its size makes no sense for a race's capital, this race having the power to ascend to higher planes of existence and in some cases manipulate stars... their greatest achievement would be a little more than 4000 meters if they could regularly build ships of a comparably similar size.

      Its said its the size of Manhattan, Manhattan is 22 miles, 22 miles to kilometers... 30 kilometers, they do say that its the citys internal size however, so cut that in half then to account for that info, still around 10-15 kilometers.

    • @alteranrepublic633

      Plus, the Daedalus class ships, and probably the mid-sized Lantean/Asuran ships, can actually land on at least one of the piers. The ZPM powered Hive from the finale was considerably larger than a standard Hive and at least 8x the size of Atlantis itself. Both should be taken into account for size comparisons.

    How did the death glider get so big all of the sudden? They’re smaller than the 302?! And the 301 should be the same size since it’s a death glider (unless it’s a different type?) Strange!
    And the Prometheus should be larger since it can carry half the number of 302s (at least after the side pods were refitted to carry 302s). The Prometheus is only slightly smaller than the Daedalus class.

      The sizes in this video aren't even remotely accurate, nor are the size comparisons between ships. I.e the Deadalus easily managed to land on the Atlantis City Ship and looked like a puny fighter in comparison. Later, the Daedalus is shown in flight with an Aurora Class ship and the Aurora was only 2 or 3 times bigger - yet this video would have you believe the Aurora Class ships were a similar length as the city ships.

    Some of these are wrong. The Earth ships mainly. The show runners themselves corrected the numbers. Prometheus is 520M long. Daedalus is closer to 800 meters long while a Ha'tak is 1K even. The Hiveship is right as is Anubis's Command ship. Apophis's Command Ship might be right as well.

      MuffinMan0521 It's not. It's small enough to land on the wings of Atlantis. The city is way too small in this video, it should be similar in size to the Super-Hive. (Which is mislabeled as the "Hive Ship")

    Most of the smaller ship sizes are just straight up wrong. The death glider and the X-301 are supposed to be the same size and both are slightly smaller than the F-302. Also the Tel’tak is much larger than the fighters because it is supposed to be a cargo ship. I was actually laughing so freaking hard at how the X-301 was depicted as almost twice the size as the Tel’tak.

  • @alinmeleandra3175
    @alinmeleandra3175 3 роки тому

    Images look nice however some sizes are still wrong.
    - F301/F302 are way smaller in overall all dimension than a tel''tak or an al''kesh. While the number seem legit (35m for al'kesh) the visual proportions are way off...
    - Death glider is similar in size with an F301 (which was based on Death Gliders)
    - F303 Prometheus seams correct in overall size..
    - F304 Daedalus is much smaller (about 270m) as stated on stargate wiki..
    - The asgard ships seem to be correct
    - Anubis''s and Apophis Mother-ships are smaller than Atlantis (around 2000m)
    - replicator ship vs O''neill, number seem legit but the proportion seem off (the replicator model seams way to small compare to the asgard ships)
    - hiveship is about 3.0Km to 4Km in lenght (about 15-20 times a 304 which is about 220m) though I seen some numbers stating they are at around 8Km
    - Atlantis is larger at around 4km

    The problem with ships in sci-fi shows is that CGI art departments keep changing the sizes of the ships to fit the scene and shot. You can't judge their size by what you see on screen. You need to refer to the official tech manuals. If released.

    • @TheMartuksxxxx
      @TheMartuksxxxx 6 років тому

      EvilSpock but u still van use logic. In a video f302 fighters looks too big for f303 frigate. And keep in mind that frigate should carry 8 fighters in its hangar.

      Watch the Trekyards video on the X-303. It's very good. They show how they changed its size for many scenes, and how the for the Prometheus to be the correct scale compared to the F-302s it has to be 516m long, not 195m.

    Boy are you off on the X-301 and the Deathglider. They are the same size as the 302. and a Le'kesh is not that small it is about half the length of the Prometheus. The Tel'Tek is much bigger then a death glider and 302.
