Best single piece of advice I have ever seen on a Bali blogger UA-cam. ‘Sanitise before you eat with your hands’ You never know who touched something before you did.
We live by that motto, 30 something visits , never been sick, bought over hundreds of Bali first timers and most of their concerns was getting sick, none of them ever were sick from that golden rule. Seen so many people pick food up with hands without cleaning first. It's worked for us so far, it's not 100% fail-safe but touch wood it's worked so far. Thanks for feedback Cameron.
We've been staying at the Green Garden for many years. The staff have always been amazing, we've made some good friendships. While they've been renovating, we've been staying at Febris, which we also love. Can't wait to stay again when we are there in November! Thanks for your great information and reviews
Hi Diane, Your already all over it, Green Garden is unbelievable, for value and cleanliness, we rate it. We have just seen the hotel and you won't be disappointed, you will love it. New staff sadly but suriah (boss lady) still runs it, we love Febris as its same owner but its more family friendly, for us we love the peace and quiet. Have a great time.

@BecMattAdventures hi, we did try the garlic bread, and it was like pillows of puffiness of joy, without a doubt the best we have tried, mie goreng and nasi goreng also, washed down with lemon squash, for a couple from UK a cost of 198k IDR is crazily cheap. Love your videos, huge fans. Thanks.
We love our dogs especially in Bali, we can not save them all, but give them a feed till tomorrow, Tomorrow is another day. Also if we can do it anybody can, we just bring a zip lock bag over and buy the dog food here. Least we can do. How can you not love the Doggos.

G'day again Bec and Matt. Given I stay at Jesen's Inn 2, and my favourite bar is Warung Jack 99, I must have ridden or walked past Warung Nikmat a hundred times. However, I've never tried it out. Will certainly give it a go when I return to Bali in February. A bar I discovered back in August is Shipwreck Bali on Kartika Plaza. It's a good venue to watch NRL or AFL games, and the Singaraja beers were nice and cold. Always grateful to have you doing reviews in the Bakung Sari/Kartika Plaza area.
Hey James, your like us. We rate the area highly after Nikmat we went via Jesen 2 and said this is James hotel haha. I'm sure you been passed it hundreds of time as your bar and hotel like 50m away. When in Feb James, we could cross paths. Thanks for feedback.

Now if restaurant prices were like that in Australia, even just for a day Imagine how many struggling families would be able to afford to just eat out for a treat, and enjoy their time with loved ones.. Australia is so overpriced :(

@BecMattAdventures will do. We've been going to bali since '95. But kuta for only 5 yrs now ( 2 nights only as a stop over to Ubud and Sanur). Usually stay at the Adi Dharma kuta on jl benesari, but thought we'd change it up a little..... the Ramayana seems much more central and not such a horrible walk to..... well, anywhere, really. I'll miss the friends I've made there, but I'm sure I'll meet some new ones. The locals love it when I get the bahasa going. I'm up to about 700 words now 🙏🙏🙏 Take care guys. Love your work ❤️
Yes we are frequentl visitors mainly to sulis and green garden, Febris is huge and great for families. Pulis is mama Sulis son, Suriah who runs Green Garden was married to mama Sulis brother but passed away in covid era. You can not go wrong and Green garden been fully renovated (we believed it never needed it, main reason got renovated was lifts put in and all rooms got renovated as well. Your on a winner with those hotels, stay at green garden 1 time if it's not the best ill get Matt to take me out somewhere flash. Matt will be confident it will be the best. We booked there for like $51 a night with brekkie.
Fiona, this subject is very close to Matts biggest issue and people paying way too much for accommodation in Bali, Matt has never made it known as its popular with Aussies but rates Bali garden most overrated hotel he knows. We know it well, stayed there once when we paid $80 a night. Matt said at $80 its ok but not worth more. Its a nice hotel but no way its worth what they charge now. Crazy prices. We will be bringing our top 5 hotels out before xmas but pretty much will say Green Garden hotel will come out on top. (Subject us confirming and checking it out as its been shut for 4 years) We went and looked in Aug (looked amazing ) and between $50 - $60 a night with brekkie its unbelievable. Hotel had full reno, it didn't need it but main reason they put lifts in but upgraded rooms as well. I can tell you they were perfect before now they are unreal. As you know Bali garden, green garden is on same street but about 400 - 500m down the road. Will be a video out on it and if you stay there likely will see us there whenever we are in Bali. You now know and take it from us, Matt found this hotel years ago and all our friends use to be Bali garden people, knowing about green garden all of our friends stay not at Bali garden but green garden. He converted everyone. One trip Matt stayed 6 hotels in 9 nights to keep finding best hotel, 1 has stayed on top = Green Garden Check it out. Hope this helps
