Haken are an English progressive metal band formed in 2007 by multi-instrumentalist Richard Henshall, guitarist Matthew Marshall, and vocalist Ross Jennings. While Henshall, Marshall, and Jennings first had the idea of forming Haken in 2004, they opted to pursue their instruments and songwriting first.

Haken is my favorite band and everything they touch is gold. They are absolutely mind blowing with every release and very original. They have a live one on UA-cam and their dvd from ProgPower. Their albums are like expeditions.

I was hanging out with Ross (lead singer) after a show and asked how to you pronounce haken. And he goes "Haken like bacon!"

Djent is pronounced Gent ;) Great video! The Mountain is considered a masterpiece by most prog lovers, definitely worth a full listen!

Haken broke my heart with their last two albums and generic mainstream metal sound with songs that sound like AI interpretation of previous albums. Listening to their discography from demo album onwards is like watching a beautiful girl aging and getting ill, old and senile. So sad, it also happened to Tool.
