    NOTE: THIS VIDEO WAS CREATED DAYS BEFORE THE PRODUCT'S RELEASE. THE PRICE IN THIS VIDEO IS INCORRECT! IT RETAILS FOR $149.99!

    It’s hard to figure out the controls for this and the manual is very vague. There are very few videos that actually shows how to use this. I’m looking for better video tutorials on this

      It feels like Zoom launched this device and then quickly moved on. There aren't a lot of actual "buyer" user reviews out there either. Zoom is not a fan of the channel or else I'd ask them for a review unit. I call it like I see it and that turns off some companies. If I happen to get my hands on one I'd have no issues making how-to videos.

    Czy można podłączyć bezpośrednio do usb c smartfona i nagrywać wideo z dźwiękiem od rejestratora?

      Yes. Here's what they say: Connect the H1 XLR to your mobile device via the USB-C port and record professional audio directly onto your phone's video. Perfect for video podcasts, live streams, and more.

    I am a content creator, but I am not a professional one. Which option is better? F3 or H1 XLR? I will use it for interviews, podcasts, streamings... Greetings from Spain.

      Corrección: he confirmado que este modelo tiene phantom power

      @@IberianGeek I think Javier has some good advice. Although, I'd be tempted to get the H1 XLR and save some money since you're not looking for pro-level use.

    Will it have direct monitoring? Any info about latency (monitoring & roundtrip)? Thanks

    • @FreePodcastTools
      @FreePodcastTools  5 місяців тому

      It looks to function similarly to the H6essential which I use headphones to monitor the audio while movie making, but I couldn't find anything about latency. I'll try to remember to reach out to Zoom and see if they will respond.

    Sounds like a replacement for the Zoom Podtrak P4. Obviously less channels, but for the podcaster looking to for a device to be an interface and record at the same time, this would be it.

      Hi Dave! Congrats on the new job! I think that's a fair assessment as it does just about everything the P4 could do. It's seems like a pretty good value. Thanks for taking the time to comment.

      I had the same thought.

      The Podtrak is a 4 track recorder where the H1 XLR is a 2 track recorder, but the H1 XLR should offer better clipping protection and a lower noise floor compared to the Podtrak. Which one should get for the prices is going to come down to ones situational needs. If one is simply doing a 4 person studio pod cast of people chatting then the Podtrak is likely going to be the better option; however if one is going out into unknown locations for event based live podcasts or are planning to do heated topics where someone is likely to get excited and start yelling or there might be loud ambient sounds around then having a couple H1 XLR's would be the better pod cast option.

      @@billyoung9538Thanks for the advice! I think I will choose the H1 XLR.

      @@IberianGeek there are a few other details about the Podtrak P4 that haven't been tested with the H1 XLR that might push one towards it for a podcasting situation. The Podtrak P4 has a crazy amount of gain potential (70db), and is one of the few devices that can power a Sure SM7B unassisted with it, and there still aren't many devices that can do that, particularly with 4 tracks at it's price point. That's one of the big reasons it's still considered by many to be the best budget podcasting interface, and is so popular. The H1 XLR has yet to be tested, but given the Essentials series, which this looks quite similar to, were not able to do the equivalent without an inline preamp of some form that could be a positive for some. While I'm not saying the H1 XLR might be a better overall device, I personally would make sure it tests better than the H1Essential first because that had a really bad noise floor; however, this is more expensive so is more likely to be a stripped down H4 H1Essential variant.
