The Move toured Ireland in 1969 when I was in the support act; they started their set with this and it blew my mind! ...One unforgettable night in Dún Laoghaire, Dublin. Bev Bevan (drums) had broken his thumb on his left hand but he merely held the stick between his other fingers and I defy anyone to notice the difference! He was built like an Olympic weight-lifter, by the way! The mix here is a little bit 'off', ...perhaps it's a recording of the stage mix for the venue which makes the sound different(????) In any case they were a fabulous group of musicians and we went on to support them at 4/5 venues throughout Ireland. On the night in Dún Laoghaire I recall being amazed at how down to earth they all were, no airs & graces just another bunch of musos - in fact, I was smoking John Player's unfiltered piggies at the time and Roy Wood cadged one off me in their changing room! Great, unforgettable memories!
This is part of a t.v. show where they played another song by The Byrds with Carl Wayne playing bass , it was once complete in youtube .I wish it will be posted again.
But not a copy of the Dusty Springfield version which came out before the Byrds (but with girl-y lyrics.) I'm not sure there can be a "cover" of the work of composers/writers who put their material out for any-and-all to perform & record.

Harmonies and their ability to cover so many styles is incredible.
Tip of the hat to Goffin and King for such a great song.
Early in "Get Back" John Lennon mentions (in early January 1969) a program he watched on BBC2 which had The Move performing.
