I also don't use salicylic acid or similar product for my skin even though i am a teen with acne prone skin. When i was 13-14 i used salicylic acid. I got rid of my break outs, but my skin was dry and red. Now i just use niacinamide serum and it works a lot better.

when i was breaking out, any active ingredients made my acne worse (salicylic acid, glycolic acid, vitamin c, retinol). i stuck to a simple routine of cleansing, moisturising & applying spf + spot treatment for new breakouts. now that my skin is completely clear, i’m back to using serums with actives in it. none of the serums have caused me to purge now that my skin is stable. there’s no point trying to brighten scars when ur acne is still active, resolve the acne first. if u insist on using one, just use a salicylic acid cleanser twice a week, making sure ur skin gets 1-2 mins with the cleanser. that’s it.

Be careful if he’s allergic to papaya thought because the serum has papaya in it. Use the spot treatment like two to three times a week
I was skeptical of double cleansing at first just because my skin can be very sensitive around the vitiligo patches and I was worried all this rubbing and fussing would irritate it, but after trying it for about a week, it doesn't seem to get irritated! I guess the key is to have a gentle method rather than violent scrubbing and abuse. I am grateful better methods are becoming more common knowledge.

Hey there I struggled with that same problem if you don’t mind here are things that worked for me: (I have combination skin so I have an oily for head and nose ) Cleanser:I used a cleanser with salicylic acid only at that area Treatment:I applied benzoyl peroxide in active pimples if it is inflamed and to kill bacteria , I also used salicylic acid to prevent future pimples Moisturizer: use a light weight moisturizer Tip: if you have hair that rest on your forehead head try to get it off some time and see if that helps and remember to use sunscreen to prevent scaring
You don’t need a skincare with thousands actives to clear the skin. So over it. My routine has literally 4 steps, cleanser, serum, moisturizer and sunscreen. Exfoliating acids only 2 times a week. I literally destroyed my skin barrier with too much ingredients. Y’all don’t need that’s much.
