I have a glycine airman chief in white dial 40mm and on my 16.7 cm wrist the lug-to-lug of 50mm fits well. The curved lugs do help to hug the wrist. the 24-hour reading does require some effort in the beginning to get used to, but after a while it becomes intuitive. Hour-hand on the right side, morning (am) time, hour-hand on the left side, afternoon-evening (pm) times. The movement is brilliant for the price range. The Glycine was the first watch in the world to with GMT reading capability (rotating bezel), although Rolex improved on it later with a GMT complication (GMT hand). Perfect for collectors.
Am concerned that very low water resistant threshold may not withstand the humidity of Queensland Australia....do you think my concern is justified? Thankyou for your good review .
I Iike the true 24hr timing aspect of this watch, but the strange counter-balance on that hour hand would be a major bug for me. The lug width and lug to lug also seem a bit too big, for a watch with a 40mm case.
I believe the counter on the hour hand is meant to help you read the 1300-2400 hours. The counter will point to the 0100-1200 hours as a quick reference instead of trying to remember what 1300-2400 hours are.

Great review, thanks for helping with my watch shopping !
It’s a very interesting watch. Glycine’s history is underrated.
i thougt that has a small hand was a gmt hand. :D its not a actual hand just a extension of hout hand right?

I thought the counter-balance was an additional hour hand (like on the GMT version) until I read your comment. Definitely a bit confusing.

Will it be too big for a 6,25 inch/16cm wrist?
I’m so torn between this Blue Airman or the Bronze Combat Sub GMT Rootbeer
How can I read the non military time?
