Jon you should try the tag end challenge. Start with like a 2 inch tag end on your bait and every time you catch one double the tag end length. Settle the debate and see if it actually matters

I commend you for a pretty hard challenge. I would use a tiny jig head with a 1 inch gulp alive minnow. I've caught everything from 4 inch gills to a 28 inch walleye on em. I would also use a weighted slip float with 4 lb. Line so I could cast a mile
Although….. what about trolling? You could cast the lure out once, retrieve it and if you don’t get a fish, let out some line while it is still in the water and troll it across the lake for as long as you want to.

Do a different one cast challenge where you cast it, and have to walk down the bank until a fish bites on that single cast Edit: didn’t think about weeds. Maybe topwater would work better for this.
