Well now the 132 has these as well. Not this type but the normal BYD electric buses. They are pretty good and they are very smooth as well. The 180 has some of these too but its not fully converted to electric buses like the 132 and other routes do.
Interesting how times have changes, I can recall the 63 when RM all those years ago at King’s Cross York Way back in 2003.

There are some of theses in the exact specification with 22 reg number plates on the U5 route which runs between Hayes and Uxbridge in West London. Lovely buses they are!

As someone who’s been on a lot of MTA Express buses, I can say that for the 2nd Floor of the bus, it essentially is the same for Express buses for the MTA when holding onto the Seat Bar handles on the bus. Staten Island used to use Double Decker buses as a pilot program on the J17X (now known as the SIM8/SIM8X) to Manhattan & Arden Heights- Woodrow Rd/Arden Ave. via Richmond Ave. & NJ TPKE./I-95. I’ve been used to those, so when I do visit the UK, and London, it’s not really that different to the MCI’s or PREVOST Buses in NY. Also, the USB ports only have 1? In the U.S., it’s usually 2 ports. Some Express has Outlets, but it’s shotty. That’s what I have to say about it.

That's one cool bus. Now what we need is some of those in Huddersfield instead of our geriatric fleet where the newest vehicles are 64 plate Wright Streetdecks and the newest deckers are 07 plate Geminis.
The 264 are getting some of those as with some Sutton Garage routes
They are a nice smooth drive. Drivers enjoy driving these buses.

Emergency exit doors still exist on new buses but I think it’s an option when ordering them because I’ve seen some newer buses outside do London with emergency exit doors. It may be because it’s not really needed because of the glass breakers

Yes, I think they will put Ev's on most of the routes. I have seen one on my route last week.

I was in Kings Cross Yesterday waiting for a 63 and i was at the Bus stop for 45 minutes without a sign of any buses coming
I pulled up too, when people were asking for a 259 to Edmonton. It seems a lot of buses were on diversion, or were missing.
@@DoubleDeckerAnton I think it was because of the Police standoff at Elephant and castle on the kent road as when i got off my 63, i was waiting for a 1 and when we got on, the bus turned left and the driver stopped to make an announcment that went a bit like this "Alright passengers, so, ive just go on the route at tottenham court road and i wasnt told about no do version so i dont no where the hell im going so im just gunnu have to call up the depot and see where the hell, im meant to go"...Can only happen on the 1.
I’ve realised as well that the doors on the EV’s have sensors so if you obstruct them while they’re opening/closing (you would most likely see this happen in rush hour if the bus is crammed full), there is an alarm that goes off and the doors stop moving. When I sometimes come home from school, this usually happens. I wonder if you know this fact

They do have a rear camera and i think they are charged overnight everyday.
Bout time TFL started using more digital blinds on their newer buses!
They are slowly being introduced.
Matrix blinds are harder to read from distance and in small font...

it's basically the electric version of a streetdeck
Our double deckers in Victoria, BC weigh alot more than ones in U.K. I guess. 25,600kg or so (unloaded). We don't have any electric double deckers (yet) and our hybrid double decker just retired after 13 years of use. I believe the Hybrid double decker weighed about 30,000kg, I do remember it was quite gutless, since it had a smaller motor (Cummins ISL9) compared to the regular Enviro500 diesels (Cummins ISM). Does that Enviro400 EV City have air conditioning?

How good is the air conditioning on those buses?
It's quite powerful. It's the best so far.

Why have they done away with emergency exits?
I know they have faulty buzzes when they get very old.
Also people can abuse them.
Now they have 'twist push switches' on certain allocated windows, incase of emergencies.
Better bus in London was The ALX 400 But there gone now do they even have one Arriva have them well some LJ55BRX or Z I think but as always great vidieo
I'm not a fan of electric buses im more for the sound of the engine haha but in all fairness adl have done well with the byd/ev combination, interior looks brill on this e400 city
Yes, I agree Robin. I miss the distinct sound the engine makes. Now it's a very quiet sound.

Abellio London Oder new Streetdeck Electroliner electric buses for Route 111. With new spec going be the better and the best in London
They are lovely bus to drive but I find the driver seat is very low
They should of had handle bars on the top deck
Interesting how interiors are so far behind that of buses in other parts of the country. Buses in the south west have had this spec with high back leather seats, USB and wooden flooring for a decade now. First group the most notable.

Downstairs is to tight up them steps. Don’t like the bus design. Don’t like the bus at all with out upright handles upstairs because some elderly passengers like to sit with grandchildren upstairs and the design is dangerous. The downstairs more sitting room to cram passengers in. The mirrors are ok. But getting used to them in the cab if you were used to them outside for 10 years would take some time. But Its a nice Touch to have cameras as then you can get close to the bus in fronts Rear end so you can leave doors shut and go round bus in front to help him out. I used to get a bit too close and lose a mirror. But being in cab is pretty neat. Only thing I’ve noticed with electric buses is they burn well. Seen a few go up in smoke. One thing though I expect pleases people is there quiet and don’t have that awful sound from exhaust. Only time will tell if these new buses are a winner.

Although they are very nice, I find them a little bit boring as with most byd e400evs as there's very little noise and top speed which means they struggle on my local route (132) as that goes down the a2, b9tls were much better on that route - but sadly we must move on😔
