There's a legend around here. A killer buried, but not dead. A curse on Crystal Lake, a death curse: Jason Voorhees' curse. They say he died as a boy, but he keeps coming back. Few have seen him and lived. Some have even tried to stop him. No one can. People forget, he’s down there, waiting….

I'll never argue these films are the best but this franchise is my favorite. Often there's naysayers who say it's the same thing every movie but for those of us that enjoy slashers... campground slashers... there's great nuances to each of these films that make me love it more each time I see them. Yes I have personal reasons that make this series a nostalgia watch but as a seasoned horror fan, not all nostalgia films get richer with time.
Not sure how you feel about fan films, but you should check out ROSE BLOOD, which continues this story with Terry Kizer and Lar Park Lincoln. Considering the production, it's pretty wild.
It's so difficult to pick a favorite from the series ...
1- the beginning, the setting, atmosphere and soundtrack, so good
2- more of the same but great cast, great kills and awesome baghead Jason
3- my true intro to series - read the novelization of this before seeing any films (the 80s eh?)
    4- phenomenal ending ... that wasn't Haha!
5- turned it all on its head, one I now love dearly
6- Universal horror, campy fun (I love puns)
7- as you put so well, Italian-esque, stunts, makeup and style all it's own, beautiful
8- messiest one but 80's cheese and so fun
9- otherworlds version, grown to really love this, Adam Marcus' passion has increased this one's value for me
10- otherworlds 2 - fan fiction version that's so much fun, truly love it
remake - wonderful tribute to the past and good attempt to recapture the magic
VS - otherworlds 3 - dumb fun, wish it was better
Comfort watch winner - very difficult but I'll narrow it to 1, 6, or 7 - changes on the weather, haha!

Sci-Fi fans are the same way OR do you consider them part of the horror clan?

@@robertnigro1430 I’m thinking Sci-Fi is its own thing, apart from Horror. But, obviously you can have an incredible blend of the two, just thinking ‘Event Horizon’ just for one. I wouldn’t necessarily consider Sci-Fi fans apart of the Horror clan. It’s weird though.. I just had a thought, you probably see a hybrid living comfortably underneath the X-File umbrella, lol.. I can’t remember exactly what I said in that review that prompted your thought, lol.🍻
