I learned that I like file folding when I watched this video. I don’t really like laundry so this is amazing, I now have a motivation, IT LOOKS NEAT!!!
Thank you so much Julia, we're really glad you're enjoying them! We'll be putting out more clothing storage + folding videos in the near future that will hopefully answer your questions so please check back!
I'm clicking on that notification bell. I'm one of those people who love to see everything organized, and I try, but like it can always get better, just don't know how. Thank you for these videos.
So I’m just a kid, and whenever my mom puts my closes away she just throws then in. (they are folded but not organized) I used to just shove them in to any open area in my drawer, not I fold them!
I feel like file folding and standing shirts up sideways will just make them prone to all tumbling down as you start to run low on shirts after a week or two (I mostly wash fortnightly). But I think this method could be more practical and space saving for hoodies and jumpers
For wrinkles - A manager taught me this my first year after graduating college when he saw my shirts were wrinkly and I've used it for 11 years now - buy a spray bottle from walmart/dollar tree or reuse an old one, fill with cold water and put in a dryer sheet (I also add I drop of liquid soap). It works flawlessly as a wrinkle release whether it's a t-shirt or a dress shirt. Just lay the shirt down or from a hanger and spray with a sweeping motion (so you get better, even coverage), then use the back of your hand to wipe the droplets into the fabric. The only downside to learning this if you're like me is that you'll become fine with clean laundry sitting in baskets instead of folding them to avoid wrinkles 😁
This whole series was SOO helpful!!! Can you guys do a hanging series!? How to fold hang denim shorts for example!? And how to avoid getting those annoying hanger marks on tops and stuf
Hi Darleen! We find that a well-filled drawer holds up the best when you're file folding, although it does require a little maintenance from time to time. But we love being able to see all our clothing options at once!
@@PracticallyPerfect maybe it is just me because its too much and then so much different stuff 😂 but your work really makes me want to organize my closet und is very helpful because I am thinking of getting a drawer😊
I've folded my clothes this was since I started having chores at 12 years old lmao this isn't really anything new my mom always folded our clothes like that and taught us to fold our clothes the same way I dont know how else you would fold clothes
Hi there! It would depend on the type of fabric (certain items we would recommend hanging over folding) but we haven't found it to cause noticeable creasing in our regular t-shirts.
Absolutely! We recommend you use Joni's method (start at 1:53) and skip the last fold so that you have a larger t-shirt profile. They should stack wonderfully on a shelf!
Great question! Generally you would do this with a full drawer, so that the clothes support each other. You can also use drawer dividers or adjustable inserts to help keep items standing up even when you pull things out.
Depending on the material of your shirt, it might be best to hang them. Or if they are getting wrinkled from flopping over, you might consider using a drawer insert to keep them upright... Keep us posted!
And im over here rolling my shirts like a madman
It's all about what works best for you :)
Who does role there shirts 😑

Love how a Johnny cash shirt was used!! 👌🏻
It's a favorite shirt in that household :)
how do you do sleeveless and long sleeve? by the way love your videos.

Joni, for my own laundry I do the air method too!! Glad I'm not alone ❤
You're not alone! We love a perfectly folded t-shirt, but sometimes that air method is simply the most practical in the moment :)
Most helpful video I’ve seen thus far. Thanks ladies!
Aw thank you so much Kimberly!
The camera is so far away I can’t even see it 😫😂
Hi Evelynn! If you check out the How To Fold A Long Sleeve video it gives you an overhead and it's a very similar fold!

Ooh, we love a good laundry hack! Thank you for sharing!

Thank you so much Nicole! We will definitely add that to our content idea list.
I really appreciate these videos! My only problem is I wish I could see above.
Thanks for letting us know! We'll keep that in mind for our future folding videos - we want them to be as helpful as possible!
Thanks made puting away and organizing my clothes alot easyer
We're so glad to hear that!

Usefull
I fold like Joni(?) and my stuff always looks terrible when I want a T-Shirt from the middle or something like that 😂

@@Daddelinchen We're happy to hear you find it helpful and are excited for your organization journey!
THANK YOU you helped me to organize my very messy drawers
So glad we were able to help Emma! And kudos to you for tackling your drawers!
You forgot the step where you have to struggle to keep the bottom hem of the shirt from curling up after the shirt comes out of the dryer. 🙃
What are the measurements of the basket for the file folding?
So….how do you handle the sleeves?
I've folded my clothes this was since I started having chores at 12 years old lmao this isn't really anything new my mom always folded our clothes like that and taught us to fold our clothes the same way I dont know how else you would fold clothes
Does this method lead to creasing near the collar area?
Hi there! It would depend on the type of fabric (certain items we would recommend hanging over folding) but we haven't found it to cause noticeable creasing in our regular t-shirts.
Could you do this method for shelves instead of draws?
Absolutely! We recommend you use Joni's method (start at 1:53) and skip the last fold so that you have a larger t-shirt profile. They should stack wonderfully on a shelf!
@@PracticallyPerfect thank you! I can't wait to see more videos. Would be great to see videos implementing this in organising a closet
@@laolaapanda3723 Thank YOU! We are all about an organized closet and hope to show longer tutorials + projects on here in the future!
How about if is a long sleeve t-shirt?
Hi Christelle! We'll be putting out a long sleeve folding tutorial soon, stay tuned!
is it better to fold regular t shirts rather than hang them? thanks
Hi Austin! It depends both on the fabric of the items - we recommend hanging for t-shirts prone to easy wrinkling.
I saw your Safia Nygaard video
We loved those videos with Safiya :)
Wow! You replied! Cool. I used this technique on all my shirts too.
Joanie's way is the normal intuitive way I think. If you stack them up in a drawer, as you take them out, dont the remaining fall over each other?
Great question! Generally you would do this with a full drawer, so that the clothes support each other. You can also use drawer dividers or adjustable inserts to help keep items standing up even when you pull things out.
how do i keep the shirts from wrinkling? i love the organization of file folding but my shirts ALWAY wrinkle!!! any tips?
Depending on the material of your shirt, it might be best to hang them. Or if they are getting wrinkled from flopping over, you might consider using a drawer insert to keep them upright... Keep us posted!
Thanks for teaching a 26 year old man how to fold!
We love it! Thanks for watching Dylan!
Can't see subtitles in tbe way covering it all
So sorry Lauren! Hopefully we've gotten better at adding text over the last year :)
this look better then the konmari style. why?
We're flattered!
Nice love it wow who teached you that amazing love
You lovely 😁😂😃😄😅😀😘😍
Thanks Hafsa, we’re glad you enjoyed the video!
✏️ step 1: we shart ✏️
I prefer to fold in the sleeves fist.
That's an option too! We think whatever fold is practical for you is perfect for you :)
Who else is here bc they saw Safiya Nygaard’s closet organization video
So glad you found us via Safiya!
Practically Perfect my drawer have never been so organized!! Lol
Can't see a thing. The camera is too far away. Waste of time.
I definitely did not come here after watching you organize Safiya’s stuff, definitely not
Ever heard of camera positioning?
Hi Kate! We just jumped in for our very first YT video - we hope our camera work has gotten better since then :)
