    We have dogs that shed in the house. There was a ton of hair in the ring area blocking the washer’s drainage area. I removed and cleaned the ring. The washer was able to spin and drain properly. There was a stain where the washer was leaking down the front of the machine . That all stopped once I cleaned those two areas and the drain cup area located in the front of the washer. Appreciate the information!

    I've got a puddle on the left (from the front view). I'll give it a try. I was thinking the pump was leaking but this makes sense. FYI, there was a recall on some Frigidaire pumps that were catching fire, possibly from a leak? This is on some mid to late 2000 models.

    • @markfothebeast
      @markfothebeast 7 років тому +1

      My unit is a "Gallery" washer/dryer combo. I bought it used for next to nothing so I expected some problems. But this problem is my fault. The soap loader tray plastic housing is broken inside the machine.
      I had to move this gigantic beast myself on a dolly down a hill and it decided to take a left turn on its own. It ended up rolling down the hill in slow motion as I recall, and eventually came to a halt at the bottom. I then had to scour the woods for the flying parts. The mass actually sent parts well over 20-feet away, surprisingly. I never found a couple parts to think of it.
      I then managed to lug it in to the lower basement entry where I pieced it back together and it has worked for nearly a year. So the soap tray thing now makes sense. Nobody realized it was there anyhow...But nobody has been told the story of the runaway washer/dryer... Sshhh!
      Anyhow, I'm going to "redneck" spray foam the inner tray shut.

    My brand new Maytag washing machine is leaking from the soap dispenser. Since I’ve only had it a few weeks it’s not leaking because it’s dirty. Any other words of wisdom?

  • @vatoote8343
    @vatoote8343 6 років тому

    I have a Maytag, I really do appreciate the tip about cleaning the washer. I did that , remove all the soap scum from glass and also checked the holes in the tray. I still had a leaking problem. But further investigating the situation. I notice something strange.there is a plastic duct , it's hard and clear , that had a a seal lodged inside of it. Some how the seal got inside the plastic duct. So it no longer served its purpose in carrying out the job it was made to do, example to stop the water from leaking. I removed the hard plastic duct that's located somewhat behind the tray at the top. By sliding my hands between the soft plastic when you open the door between the barrel that spin and the outer portion of washer fixed the seal on the outside of the piece connected to the washer slide the hard plastic duct over it by giving it a little push. Ran the water and there is no leak on the side nether the front. Working like a gem!!!

    Whirlpool Duet. Replaced main boot and fill tube. Absolutely zero funk on bottom of door glass or door backing plate but cleaned anyway. STILL leaks from door. Wondering how to remove the backer plate (WPW10138523) and more importantly how to seal it. Pretty sure it is leaking between plastic door backer and glass dripping onto bottom outside front center of door and front bottom cover panel. Again... No hair or salt precipitates on glass. WT-H?

    HELP WITH FOIL REPLACEMENT ON TOP OF EVAPORATOR cant find part..
    Hi, I have a Magic Chef model RB150TV. I have to replace the Heating coil as mine has a broken glass tube and coil. When I took the freezer bottom off I had a piece of foam under it and under the foam laying on top of the EVAPORATOR coil looks like a heavy duty piece of aluminum foil. That piece of aluminum foil is torn up all over with pieces falling off and holes allover it. I see that it sets directly over were the heating coil is on the other/underside of the EVAPORATOR. DO I RE USE THIS TORN TO SHREDS PIECE OR CAN I REPLACE WITH REYNOLDS ALUMINUM FOIL?? THE OLD PIECE LOOKS LIKE IT IS 3 TO 4 TIMES THICKER THAN HOUSE HOLD ALUMINUM FOIL..WHAT DO I DO?? Do I have to worry about burning a hole through this thinner Reynolds foil? Should I double or triple the layers? I looked for a replacement part but could not find one..Please help…Thanks..
