I just want to say, in case it hasn't been mentioned enough. Tilly is doing a GREAT job playing her character. So many people try to play the "dark brooding social outcast" character and, in the process of trying to be the lone wolf, they end up just being annoying and resistant to the party, making it much more difficult to promote bonding within the party. Tilly, on the other hand, is playing the social outcast in a way that is not only effective at portraying this, but she's still engaging with the rest of the party. This is a really refreshing thing to see!
Tom the Table Father is a master at letting everyone make the out of game jokes only to draw them back into the in game atmosphere. Great characters, great interactions and what is obviously going to be a very chaotic and entertaining campaign!
my only complaint about this series is that theres not 50 million episodes, new episodes multiple times a day, because I NEED this at every moment of my day
Toms ability to jump between characters and story telling is amazing, espically the shift from Liva's time outside to the Tobean and the child. His face caught me so off guard 😂

* SPOILERS FOR THE EPISODE AHEAD* Cant wait for Slambo to immediately tell the Townsmaster after he said "i have enemies" to step down so he can ne the mew townsmaster😂
Needs a few more spaces to properly hide what you got there. This might be a few too many. But I'd bet the patreon, who is an episode ahead, already knows.
I'm going to put down my prediction here in case it comes true several episodes from now: The town is in the Feywild. That's why Slambo and Del untransformed when they crossed an invisible border (moving between planes ended the effect) and that's why during the battle, Tom kept telling them there was fire and smoke coming from the town's direction: the Material version of the town burned down (and is still burning), but before that happened, it was moved or copied into the Feywild.
I don't know enough about the lore, but from the conversation Del had in the tower, it certainly sounded like she and others would turn back into beasts if they tried to leave.
This series just gets better and better every time. It's simply amazing. Tom never fails to deliver. Great work guys. SPOILERS IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THE WHOLE VIDEO That giant ass twist of "Welcome to the town of Border" is just brilliant. Can't wait for the next episode.
So I'll explain.. At the start of the series, Tom mentioned that the town of Border was completely burned down by beasts and was completely ruined. Which is why Blair and Laurie immediately react to that and get freaked out. It is also why Blair asks if they went back in time and why it is a giant ass twist as it should be impossible to be back in the town since it burned down.
So either it is the fact that the mission they got sent out on is a lie and the town of Border is fine... or the more fun one imo(but either one is amazing), is that the forest surrounding the town is affecting people's perception of the town and making it seem like it burned down.
11:05 Reminds me of one youtube doctor, who said "If you ever injury yourself in alien planet, you better go to vet instead of doctor, as vets are trained to heal variety of species, while doctors only heal the dominant species of the planet"

He's so well-spoken in other videos, I never would have guessed haha (Apologies if this has been discussed in a video; like I say, I haven't been watching for long).
I would really love for NRB an Chaotic Neutral to start investing in good closed captioning, because I find Itchard's voice hard to understand. I really love the series so far, but if I can't understand one of the players, this won't be a series I can fully commit to.
Big Shout out to Tom for saving the players in the campaign for the millionth time. Truly grateful for your quality story telling and ability to look after the players ❤
Cant help but notice that the majority of the narrative direction is dictated by Tom rather than the players. Isnt the primary draw of playing an rpg the fact that it allows the players to shape the story? Dont get me wrong, Tom is doing a great job so far but it feels like the story is on trainer wheels and doesnt allow the characters to deviate in a meaningful way from the script.
@@ericathefae I would be inclined to believe you if not for the way their previous rpg one shots played out and the comment laurie made in this video or the last about "booking people for five episodes".

Did Dom use the same method to roll his abilities as everyone else or was he just really unlucky? Dom 66 (total) Laurie 74 Tilly 76 Sully 80 Blair 82 Holly 85
Definitely of course against the rules but something we do in our group (usually when S#*t hits the fan) is if we ate fighting but not moving, we swap our movement for an additional attack role. Im aware that it could result in the grpup being too OP but it helps us stay invested and not wiping 2 hours in because the DM spawned 32 wolves.... Cough cough 😂
Obviously whatever works for you but..That does feel like it would break the balance. Given some classes get that at 5th level it nerfs fighter and barbarian classes and also incentivises players to just stand still and have static, grinding, combat because in most situations the extra attack is way more valuable than the movement. Why bother moving when standing still doubles their damage?
I know this is kinda a meme, and I don't meant this in the way a lot of people do (ie. 5e is bad, you should feel bad for playing it or whatever), but you may be interested in Pathfinder 2e. Because that's just how the system works by default. You have three actions each turn. You can spend those actions on a myriad of things. One to move, one to strike, one to shove. One to move, one to strike, one to strike again (at a small penalty to your Attack Roll). Strike using all three actions (at increasing penalties to your Attack Rolls after the first). Spend all three moving. Obviously moving systems is daunting and difficult and time consuming, especially if you're moving an entire group across systems. So maybe it could be something to consider after your current game/campaign ends or something. If you wanna learn a bit about it in a digestible way, look up Pathfinder in 7 Minutes or Less by King Ooga Ton Ton on UA-cam. Ultimately, this is just a suggestion because you're doing something similar already in 5e. If you're content and having fun with 5e, then ignore me and carry on! ^^
@@8hanI'm not sure how it would nerf the extra attack martial classes because they would still get that extra attack? And it's only unbalanced if the monsters can't also do that... but you are right about it discouraging movement and for that reason I wouldn't use it.

I asked whether he rolled up his stats in the same way as everyone else and Dom replied he was "old school". I think everyone else rolled 4 D6 and discarded the lowest whereas Dom just rolled 3 D6 and took the result. Based on this, a total of 66 is slightly higher than the average of 63 for 18 D6. At the other end of the scale, Holly's stats add up to a pretty amazing 85 (I think the average of 4 D6, discarding the lowest, is 13 so the average would be 78 total)

I appreciate all the voice acting, but I can hardly understand anything Itchard is saying. Captions would be nice. Otherwise great production and edit.
Yeah, I'd have to agree
Can we just take a second to appreciate the intro, absolute masterpiece 🙌 the artwork, the music, the transitions, 10/10
My weeks will now be spent forever waiting for the next episode of CN
The intro is "Knight's Templar" by Adriel Fair. Its album/EP was released in 2015.
Thank you! 🙌
It's been so long since you guys did a campaign! Please do more!
Itachard plushies! I would buy one without hesitation!
Nice to see Squally Chase putting in an appearance. :)
I also thought this! Sully’s character voice also very much reminds me of Sidney Wagner lol
Haha thank you! I'm thrilled there are AP listeners in the comments.
@@dominicallen541 AP is my comfort listening. I wear my shirt with pride :)
1:35:25 I love everything about this exchange, bless the oblivious Slambo & credulous Itchard
Surely if someone tries to make a joke of the day, they have to roll performance.
I think Lucian and the leeches with the mysterious glasses guy is my favorite bit in the whole series 😂
This is such a great series, everyone involved deserves huge credit. Hope this series and channel is a massive success ❤ BTW I love the theme music 😁
I’m looking forward to more madness this episode
LAURIE HAS A GUN
I really enjoyed the cadence of the storytelling this episode, quick jumps from scene to scene at surgically interesting points.
Laurie’s dying lamentations 😂
I get Critical Roles on Thursday nights, and Chaotic Neutral on Fridays for lunch! So glad Dom has joined the group too, so much fun to be had with this series and I look forward to each episode!
Tom lived another life as a reverend in Bible Belt America
I need more Slambo Wilkins in my life. The Town Master we all deserve
Dom.
Thank fuck Dom showed up!
Tilly is a DREAM in this campaign. And if i see dom on a thumbnail, i click. Absolutely stellar work everyone
I'm gonna start calling lady Gardens "slop pockets", thanks guys and girls. 😂 Also, i love Dom returning to his roots with the black country accent. I used to have to deliver yarn in a lorry around Smethwick, West Bromwich, Dudley etc and Dom's accent is absolutely spot on.
Got to ask the opening theme. It sounds like if you remove words and slow it down. Sounds like wellerman sea shanty but with a medieval remix
It's "Knight's Templar" by Adriel Fair. Its album/EP was released in 2015.
Lmao Dom was a great addition to this
