I'm so glad Ke Huy Quan was chosen for this. He is truly a talent with much to give to any role. He can be sweet, tender, funny, fierce. I mean, he can do it all! I will see him in anything. He deserves a long. long career.
I loved him so much in “Everything, Everywhere, All At Once”. He was so good at switching between the two versions of his character there that I spent half the movie thinking they’d hired two actors.
@@polymathica Ohmigosh, me too! He literally blew me away. Both he and Michelle. It was such a special movie and experience. There is so much pathos and intelligence in his acting. I would love to see him working everyday for the rest of his life. He has so much to offer any role. I sure will be watching!
Guaranteed enjoyment from the Sean Astin Ke Huy Quan reunion scene - Absolutely sold by Ke Huy Quan as the experienced Martial Arts hero he's been for years, behind the scenes

@@princessthyemis Yes. An accent and he doesn’t look like Brad Pitt or Ryan Gosling and he’s 54. Hollywood brass would think he’s a gimmicky actor because they assume people see Short Round instead of a grown adult. All those things are true but it’s also true that he’s a fabulous actor, very charismatic, joyful, and he brightens every room he walks into. To the Hollywood brass he’s unusual and they typically don’t take chances on making unusual actors the lead because the execs are completely out of touch with what the audience wants. We want more of HIM. They want to give us Fast and Furious 42. Not sure why suddenly you guys are seemingly purposely misunderstanding what I said. To clarify I said we’re missing out on great movies because execs won’t take more chances on great actors like him. Not sure how you guys can even argue with that.
💖 Everybody needs Waymond. (I loved the Disney version of the Monkey King and his speech) Thank you Ke Huy Quan for being such a delightful human and wonderful actor.
It's a cliché to say the trailer showed me the whole movie… But the first 30 minutes had me really intrigued. The next two minutes told me all I needed to know about this.
This looks really good. Gives me early 2000s Jackie Chan vibes. Also, I love to mention, that Kē Huy Quan was Short Round in Indiana Jones Temple of Doom 🥰🥰 literally one of my favorite films ❤️ and a Goonie ❤️
@@sersastark I hope not but saw a bunch of awesome moves and a resolution to kick his brothers but and break his bat which was pretty focused on in the trailer.
It would be so funny as he said "I don´t want to hurt anybody anymore" to see him use ONLY non violent self defense technics to defend himself and not hurt someone intentionally. That I think would increase the authencity in this character. A little bit like Jackie Chan in the new Karate Kid when he defeats the thugs by using their anger and attacks. Besides that, it really looks like a nice action comedy movie, teaching about the importance of beeing nice but not beeing harmless I guess. Could be worth watching.
All those scripts they would have typically written with Jackie Chan in mind now have someone who can do them justice, since Jackie seems more or less retired.
Ke Huy Quan as an action hero is just the best thing ever!
He worked as a fight/action choreographer/director in the early 2000s, so he really understands how to make action/fight scenes work.
The hero we never knew we needed!
reminds me of jackie chan
Im happy we get Short Round back!
yes, seems he's the new Jackie Chan

He Also Did The Fight Choreography
That's How He Won The Oscars
I don't know why but this dude getting the recognition he deserves feels like a personal win
Amen.

I’m a simple man - I see Ke Huy Quan, I watch. But seriously this looks excellent and I hope it’s a hit.

So glad Ke came back to Hollywood! He rocks!
Imagine how many great movies we're missing out on because movie execs are afraid to take chances on stories that feature the... unusual... actors.
He stole the show in Loki 2!!
He better reappear in MCU or they lost an opportunity 🎉
Seems like a normal actor to me 🤷♂️
Weird form of low key racism there but whatevs

Dude, I'm gonna watch the hell outta this! Ke Huy Quan is making a comeback in a BIG way!
it's nice to see they're giving these kinds of roles to older asian guys. Been a long time coming.
The full circle of Ariana Debose announcing Ke Huy Quan’s Oscar award and now they’re working on a movie together 🤩
Totally!!😊
It's a cliché to say the trailer showed me the whole movie… But the first 30 minutes had me really intrigued. The next two minutes told me all I needed to know about this.
First 30 seconds, and I agree - well said.
Oh, is this a movie with GENUINE ACTION and not CGI explosions!?!?
Sweet Jesus, I've been waiting for these kinds of films to come back.
Keep giving Ke Huy Quan work.
Ke in his own movie!!!! Well deserved and much over due

Took the words right out of my mouth!
Quan is taking over Jackie Chan's legacy.
That's exactly what I thought.
