Oh my, I had one year piano as a 10-year-old. Played thru high school and stopped until my 50s, when my 12 year old son watched me pantomime a piano concerto over the radio and pleaded for me to buy a piano for myself. I followed his advice, taught myself. All I knew of Chopin was Minute Waltz. Thank you for properly introducing me to this amazing collection, most especially this breathtaking “Scherzo”!

Such beauty is op10 no3, what I call the nocturne etude. Then comes op9 no2 the true nocturne, then my favourite of them all ... Ballade no1. Not forgetting the fantasie impromptu, and the revolutionary etude op10 no12. Spoilt for choice I am... I thank you Chopin. Your music will never die.

As a Polish man I have to tell you, that I get this music much different than you guys.In most tracks, I can hear the grief after" los homeland" Chopin wrote most of his stuff in France , outside of his own country.Every trackrecorded just after November Uprising (1830-1831) , when Poles, tried to get their independence again (there was no Poland on the map from 1795)was just a bunch of grief included in everything what Chopin wrote (for some years at least). There was a lot of polish artist like writers, painters, musicians, that in those "romantic" times were trying to express the grief about lost Poland, about that they were bom, or remembered when they could study in school in their own language etc. Polish artists around 1795-1850 were extremely "romantic", most their works were about " the lost countryland ". The same is about Chopin, and you can feel that.

I love Chopin’s music so much❤ I wanted to learn how to read sheet music and piano when I was young age, but I didn’t have a chance to do it. All my children learned piano first, then when they completed, I started to take lessons 6 years ago. I have been learning piano since then.
I also wanted to play the piano when I was a child but we lived far from the city and did not have a school. Now my kids are learning to play the piano and I learn with them))) music is great it helps us to live in such trubbled times...
I have been playing piano for 30 years, Chopin is my favorite! Fantasie Impromptu is unreal. I don't know how a man can compose such a beautiful piece!! Everything I played took me to a different world ... fantasie world!

I dumped my piano teacher when he told me he thought all Chopin's nocturnes sounded the same. When I play him I am often moved to tears.

I have been playing piano for 30 years, Chopin is my favorite! Fantasie Impromptu is unreal. I don't know how a man can compose such a beautiful piece!! Everything I played took me to a different world ... fantasie world!
