- Welcome back to the AIRPOWER channel for a discussion about The Ukrainian Armed Forces removed Abrams tanks from the front line due to heavy losses of these vehicles. Washington may announce the transfer of a new package of military assistance to Kyiv worth $6 billion.
The Pentagon said that F-16s will arrive in Ukraine this year
Pentagon Chief Lloyd Austin noted that American fighters will arrive in Ukraine along with trained pilots.
Fighters from the Center group told how they tracked Abrams for three days
The soldiers hunted an American-made Ukrainian Armed Forces tank for three days and eventually knocked it out.
The Russian military evacuated the first damaged Abrams from the Northern Military District zone. The destroyed American M1 Abrams tank was removed from the Avdeevsky direction.

NATO has already lost.
NATO has only sent money, and not much money at that. Only $100 billion from the US (from a yearly budget of $3 trillion), and $60 billion yet to arrive.
NATO didn't even expect Ukraine to last 1 week. 2 years on and Russia has gained about 20km of territory more than day 1.
That M1 Abrams tank in this video is in the Moscow military exhibit. all mangled and burned-out.

Tank armor is less thick on the top and back. Even the sides of the tank are not as protective. At the time of the Battle of Kursk in WW2, Russia had developed bomblets that could be used by aircraft. They enabled the Russian aircraft to more effectively knock out German tanks. So I guess the best way to destroy a tank is from above.

Say thanks to the designers of these tanks, who so "successfully placed" all the ammunition in the rear part of the bulky turret, which has a rather thin armor on top. Such a large turret is very difficult to hide from drone and AT strikes.

Only German Leopard 2 and Soviet Origin Tanks are in service. Why Germany tho allowed the use of Leopard 2 ? I dont know why they are using the APS(Active Protection System) on the Abrams???? That should protect anything that's getting close to the tank weapon wise. It already stops missiles and rockets pretty much anything that's aiming to destroy the tank. Really don't know why any country that's been helping Ukraine hasn't started to put them onto the tanks and any military vehicle that carries troops.
Stop saying Ukrainian, these soldiers are a mix of American, British, French, polish, and other Western European decent. The Ukraine army was destroyed over a year ago.

Didn't Ukraine have over 1400 of its own tanks before the addition of western stuff. Seems to me the Ukranian tank crews arent competent with these tanks anyway. Plus dont they need ground attack aircraft to support their armour which is why they are loosing armour , no air cover,

During the Falklands war, the British thought they could have their ships sit off those islands safely. The Argentinians fired an Exocet anti-ship missile from a fighter and it hit the HMS Sheffield. This was the 'writing on the wall' the message that the paradigm is shifting to drone war, and naval surface ships would eventually become obsolete. To not have learned from this was criminal.

According to sources. The longest tank vs vehicle was a T90M vs Bradley. There is a video about it however i had found no source if that target was a bradley or something else. 4100m since most soviet tanks can fire ATGM's as well. Which one's have more range than the TOW2's

Funny thing is, Range was irrelevant during the Desert Storm 1991. In fact, many of the Abrams engaged the Iraqi T-72s at a literal rock-throwing distance, being evident if you ever read the reports from both battle of Easting 73 and battle of Medina Ridge, and understanding the topography+weather condition of this region (sand Dunes, hills, etc. on top of constant sandstorm). Colonel Douglas McGregor, one of the most strongest "backer" of Russian Invasion, was formerly an Abrams battlegroup commander that participated the said 73-Easting tank battle, where his tank groups engaged the iraqi tanks at distance between 10 to 100 meters, destroying the enemy armored group in under 30 minutes without suffering a single loss in return. It's the reason why McGregor was never promoted to higher position because of how brazen he used his Abrams during that iconic 21st century tank battle.
