Steve you are quite unique, I am so impressed how happy you are catching a small common, you have fished the best time 80s to 00s, everywhere and caught everything, and still behaving like a kid in front of the christmas tree in front of any carp. Don't change and thanks for sharing.
The look on your face as you admire that big common is priceless and shows how much you love your fishing. Thanks for the videos and keeping us informed.
great video as usual Steve. I met you and Joan at Farlows when she was working behind the bar, John Stent was there then, we were three welshmen fishing there and both of you were a delight.Congratulation to Joan on her birthday and to the both of you for the obvious love you got for each other.Well done
What an absolute stunning mirror that was Steve, all the of the fish were stunning tbf, really like the look of this place. Happy New year to you both.
As always a lovely laid back session with beautiful carp the fully scaled real beauty no mouth damage, i even found myself singing happy birthday lol. Happy birthday Joan. Tight lines wet nets guys bless.🥳🥳🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣👌
Great vlog Steve. Fantastic lake Orellana...and there are some more in this region in Extremadura. I'm often there , but for me it's just a 3 hour trip. Tight lines and a happy and carpy 2021 Probably we met when you back in Spain...who knows!😉
I’m like a kid on Christmas morning when your notifications pop up i absolutely I love it Steve😃Happy birthday to your lovely wife aswell👊ATB from Danboy🙏🏻
Well done Steve, always a great watch 👍 ... I fished on there only the once some years ago but although our guide was a nice enough guy and well equipped we found out he was not so good at following the rules and sure enough one morning having been dropped off the day before and left to our own devices we were visited by the Spanish police and found out not only were we not allowed to be what they classed as camping in that area but even being equipped with a bivvy / tent, bedchair etc was enough to be fined, which dully arrived a few weeks after we got back home all €270 each and we blanked 😎😱😎😱
Steve as usual great video With it being joan’s b,bay fantastic Hearing Joan voice sounds if she’s from winlaton blaydon nice to se a Gordie catching big carp Keep it up
I’ve not lii ok at mine I’ve been in Kent 23yrs now Originally from st cuthberts village close to dunston keep up the vids as look forward to seeing them cheers
Pleased you got that trip in, Steve. Interested in the water temps where you were catching in 10 meters? The Big US lakes I fish still seem to go best at 11-12 ft, (20ft at DH). Perhaps I need to always keep a rod deep and see what happens! Happy New Year to you both.........
Not sure what the water temperature was but we were catching from all depths from 6ft to 40ft it was noticeable that the smaller fish always came from the shallowest water
You probably still think and dream about that Mirror most days, such an amazing fish there wont be many people that would have seen such a beauty! Unfortunately back here in the UK they are being stocked looking like that so they aren't as special anymore but such is life
Do you know the sierra brava lake? It is a good lake to fish for medium and large carp. I also recommend Lake Horno Tejero, near Orellana, perhaps the most difficult lake to fish carp in Spain, but there are huge carp although carp are very suspicious. greetings and sorry for my English, I am Spanish, I live near Orellana
They all vary from water to water, the difference is often that wild carp will use up much of their energy on the first run but generally there is not a great deal of difference
@@stevebriggs4638 your catfish is not world record, i thought so, 143pounds are world record, but your catfish may be the biggest in Europa, a regional record.
@@stevebriggs4638 I have heard of 3 week long blanks there so you done well separate to that cracking mirror 👌🏻 i'm going back to Spain ASAP, it is more like fishing the UK in the 80's as in you pretty much have a lake to yourself! I thought the spinnaker tower was in Portsmouth? Not Plymouth?
yes Portsmouth - slip of the tongue when I was rushing to get the voiceovers done ;-)
When you doing another blog sir?
one coming this week :-) just local fishing but I've had some good winter fun!!
Awesome stuff..what sort of cat was that? My missis is spainish so that lake is on the list once covid is over fingers crossed!
It's a channel cat seen them in America and a few in Italy but that was big for one of those!!
Thought so..wasn't sure! I love wels cats fish for them alot.. Nice one steve
Watching this ✌🏻👏🏻👏🏻✌🏻
Legends both of you
thanks Brett
I have a question for you how much stronger are this wild carp compared from england carp sorry for my english😂😂😂
They all vary from water to water, the difference is often that wild carp will use up much of their energy on the first run but generally there is not a great deal of difference
Great stuff as always Steve...belated Happy Birthday to Joan. Question - What's the deepest you've caught carp at?
Deepest is around 60ft at Cassien, caught them regularly at 40ft to 50ft. 90ft is the deepest I know of them being caught.
That was Portsmouth Harbour, not Plymouth! Great video!
Yes I realised what I’d said but too late to change it 😆
very very big catfish, it is world record??
www.catfishedge.com/world-record-catfish/
I doubt it but it was the biggest that Edwin has seen from the lake
