One reason I found your channel many months ago is because I searched for literature and Austria. I’ve been in love with literature forever but only recently, on a 2022 vacation, fell in love with Austria. And as a bonus we now get a chance to see the beauty of Norway. What a lovely town you’re in. I could feel the pure, clean air filling my lungs just watching you go down that forest path. Your self improvement group sounds so galvanizing. I admit I have a shelf full of self improvement books, most of which I read, take notes on, and then never apply to my life. But the group dynamic, the accountability, the opportunity to have fresh eyes and ears listen (and perhaps point out blind spots we often have regarding our own shortcomings, and fellowship, that sounds all like it might make a difference in your life. Thank you for sharing about that. I laughed when you said Proust has ruined many other books for you because his language is so lyrical, so elegant, so insightful and wise. Yes, he did it to me, too! I’m toward the end of a reading adventure. Along with an intrepid group of family and friends I’ve been going through all 7 books in Proust In Search of Lost Time. We read 10 pages a day. We have a shared Google doc in which we can share our thoughts or write down lines or passages that we want to remember. It’s been the greatest reading experience of all our lives. August 6 will be one year since we began. We’re on book 6. Every single day he makes me gasp with his brilliance. And limiting ourselves to only ten pages a day really lets us savor his language, his descriptions, his ideas, his philosophies. It’s wonderful. One final observation: that dog is going to miss you so much! My goodness is he comfortable with you. All the best and thank you for yet another dynamic and aesthetically creative glimpse into good living for the literature lover.

What a delightful video! I especially liked the last part where you produced all those lovely sounds with a variety of exotic instruments. It made me feel like visiting that gorgeous town and exploring the forests as well.

Hey! I myself are currently studying at the university you visited! :D. Starting my third year now in a master of science in cybersecurity. I'm also from Trondheim so it's lovely to have such an old and well known school so close. The building you were inside is known as the main building. The building itself doesn't have so many lectures going, but the library is very beautiful. The campus and the university itself is right behind the building and it's very huge! Both old and modern buildings. PS: For most buildings you need an ID card with a passcode to get in, especially now that there's no active semester during summer break.

I so enjoyed this beautiful video Maria, thank you! I love the scenes of that part of Norway!!! You're so fortunate to visit there and have such a dear companion to explore with - what a love!!! I must say that I've been curious about the name of your channel, so please do share more about it's origens! It was fun to see the books you are reading - so great that you can read in several languages!!! You always manage to pique my interest in reading several books that you feature. Now I want to read Proust right away as I have been curious about "In Search of Lost Time" for years now! And Giovani's room also sounds like something I would enjoy. The singing bowls, chimes and other instruments were so lovely to hear!!! Enjoy the rest of your stay there and I will look forward to your next video. 💗🐕‍🦺🌳✨️

Another beautiful glimpse into another world we wouldn't ordinarily get to see. Thank you for sharing it with us, Maria. I was startled at 13:07 - I immediately knew the sound - we have the same chimes on our terrace - we got them as a wedding present. What a coincidence!

First I like this video to catch up before the power goes out, and then I enjoy the video.
Knut Hamsung is an intelligent writer, it is very good that you read him in the original language.
I also want to thank you for this nice video, for the interesting words and the beautiful atmosphere of Norway!

Oh if you go to Paris hope you visit Shakespeare & Co and the Marais. I stayed there on and off for two years. There are lots of cheap French books around there. Proust was so influenced by John Ruskin and influenced the style & length of his sentences. - enjoy your Norwegian sojourn

I was in an antique book shop and came across a copy of Knausgaard's My Struggle but book 5. I understand you don't have to read them in order although he does reminisce from time to time. it's such a lovely rendition of it.

fox, deer, moose in the lush woods.. oh yes, that sounds very much like a coveted Norwegian summer😊 But not even Norway can get you to separate yourself from the influence of books. That can only mean one thing: you're one with literature and for all times and seasons 📚📒

The subtle art of not giving a f**k by Mark Manson is a book which is also popular in my local bookstore. Although the book is weird, it can explain the contemporary issues with society. You should read Atomic Habits - James Clear book. I've read that self-help book when searching design books and it got me hooked into reading even if it does not relate to my culture.

Hey, I would like it if you could make a video about your impressions of Karl Ove Knausgaard's book/s, when and if you read them. The opinions about his writing are split and people usually either love it or hate it.

I couldn't get through reading Giovanni's Room. It's filled with the word "suddenly" - a word I have refused to include in my own book I've written. The most loathed word in my dictionary.
