because when you sum up moment about the cutting section and equate it to zero, Mab and 15x are both counterclockwise so they have the same sign...so when you want to get the expression of M, you have to transpose 15x to the other side so it becomes negative..

Hello Sir, for example 2 may i know why we need 4 segments? if we have UDL we need to divide those UDL section into 2?

you just sum up moment about point C (roller support). you will get 8/5...and then sum up force along the vertical to get 3/5 downward.
