Haha. Yes, gonna keep trying! With him, he has to keep seeing it over and over before he'll try it usually!
My daughter is really picky about her lunches! Have you ever tried giving Nate bologna, cheese, and crackers or meat and cheese pinwheels? That and turkey sandwiches are the only lunches I can get my little one to eat regularly!
I wish he liked that because it would be great for lunchboxes. He doesn’t like cold meat and cheese. So, no sandwiches, wraps, or even lunch-able type things. It makes it hard!
Oh my!! That would make it difficult!! Hoping you can find more things he will eat!! I know how frustrating and sad it can be to see a lunch box come home with so much untouched! I always worry about my daughter not getting enough! Prayers your way!!

my son is starting kindergarten tomorrow, he's autistic, he doesn't like much foods at all and i'm soooo scared he wont eat and that he wont know what to do when it comes to lunch time because of being so nervous. this video gave me so much hope and i love it. thank you for making a video like this :)
I’m sending you hugs, Mama. He will get it. Nate has come so far over the years. In pre-k we started with snacks he liked. Try to pack some safe snacks that you know he will like and then you know he won’t be hungry. You can work up to more balanced lunches. 😊

Watching back these videos, I love them! Nate has come so far. Have you ever thought to maybe try a few pieces of pizza in the thermos ? Like the Mac and cheese. Just a suggestion not sure if it be any help :)

I've homeschooled my 10-year-old son with autism for all of fourth grade, and fifth to until now. I'm sending him back to school, and I'm very concerned about what to pack for lunches (among other things). I'll have to look for one of those small thermoses, like you used for the mac n cheese. My son doesn't eat cold entreés. I wish I could say it was because he has a discerning palate, but alas. Thanks for the suggestions!

Thanks so much! I stick both in the dishwasher with no problems! Although sometimes, it's easier to hand wash the muffin cups because they are so small and they fly around in the dishwasher! :)

You seem like an amazing mum, my nephew is autistic and when he's at our house he can be hard to feed because he's not so much picky but he tends to squish and throw his food instead of eating it and it's hard to get him to eat food sometimes
Aww thanks so much! Yes, textures, appearances, new foods and tastes are all hard. Thankfully, my guy eats more than other kids, but it's still difficult sometimes.

I wish my son who is also autistic would eat lunch at school. He was so good when it came to eating but now is really bad I had to come on UA-cam to get some ideas on what to pack for school. Thank you for this video now I don’t feel alone ☺️😉

I don’t have autism but I have ADD along with the same sensory issues, so I really struggle with picky eating even at the age of 17. But I’m feeling a lot more full of ideas for my own lunch after this video, if it were me I’d definitely eat almost all of the same lunches as Nate lol

How old are your kids?? I was told at the school only healthy lunch and my son is 5 on the spectrum and he will not eat anything other than pizza 🍕 or chicken nuggets what do you recommend?
That’s crazy, I wouldn’t appreciate them only allowing “healthy” lunches, especially for kids on the spectrum/with special needs. My kids are 7 and 9 now. They like snacky lunches, pasta, French toast, ham or pepperoni. We do really easy things.
I also have autism and have to cut up my food or I will choke and I also count how many peices I have it helps me know how much I have to eat

Haha. My child doesn’t drink those. David is my husband! 😂
Does your husband eat all of his? I pack my stepdad a whole lot for lunch and he does usally eat it all even if as snacks. I added it up out of curiosity and I was packing him close to 1000 calories of food! That's a lot for a lunch if they eat breakfast and dinner.
We pack a sanwich with 200 calorie bun (close to 350 cals with the mayo, cheese, meat), chips (150 cals), dessert (200 cals), granola bar (150), crackers (250) It was shocking!
It definitely adds up! He doesn't always eat all of it, but I like to pack extra just in case. If he gets hungry and doesn't have anything else, I figure going to a gas station or eating a treat at the church (where he works) would be worse for him. :) Thanks for watching!
Try to have nate cut the quesadilla himself. With like a pizza cutter. Maybe that will help. :) tfs

Thanks! He does drink juice (in small quantities), but at school he usually drinks milk because we have potty accidents with the juice. :)

If nate likes cereal why dont you try and give him cereal in a ziploec bowl and milk on the side
