    We have separate meal times too. My husband gets home an hour before bed time. My boys are super picky, 2 1/2 yo and 19mo. Plus it is nice to have a quiet dinner after the boys go to bed. I think as long as you get family time in at other times separate dinners are not horrible.

      Thanks! I think for the stage of life that we are both in, we are doing a great job! As they get older, we can work on one dinner time. You gotta do what works for your situation! :)

    I remember when my son was younger a Dr. told me if he wanted chicken and french fries ever day that was ok. He is 12 now and there are still a few things I fix he won't eat, but overall way better. Keep on being a short order cook ;) and don't worry about it.

    I just stumbled upon your videos. I have no idea why but watching what you serve for meals is entertaining to me right now!! Growing up I was on the picky side and boy did my mom's boyfriend give it to me when I wouldn't eat what my mom made!! Fun fact, she had to make him a special dinner most night!! So you making everyone happy is awesome!! I have a friend with 3 kids. Her two oldest are on the autism spectrum. Her oldest has a very limited vocabulary and her middle has sensory issues. She makes different meals for everyone each night. She, like you, are the true meaning of MOM. Kids first. Wishing all the happiness to you and your family!

    You’re honestly an amazing mom. So many people say eat it or starve and don’t truly understand the texture issue. I’m a certified preschool teacher and parents would send things the kids could not stand. You’re doing an amazing job! It’s so clear you care deeply for them! Enough to make 3 meals. You’re great

    I’m so glad you said what you did about making what works for certain kids especially special needs children so many parents force feed their children but I have ocd so as a child certain textures and such would cause me to fly into a panic and luckily my mom was alright about not forcing me but lots of people aren’t that way

    I make at least 2 if not 3 different meals for my family of 3, more nights than not and my son is 12. It works for us, even if some nights I get a bit frustrated. I sleep better and feel better knowing everyone ate something they liked for dinner and everyone is full.

    I’m really impressed that a 3 year likes bell peppers! LoL I started teaching my little one at age 4 to spell by sitting at the kitchen table and calling out my grocery list and then she would write it down for me. We’d get to the onions or bell peppers and she’d write “yuck” next to them. LoL When it comes to salads and veggies we have to incorporate those things into our kids diets when they are young or they may never like them. I know full grown adults who will only eat corn and refuse to touch any other veggies bc it wasn’t part of their upbringing. You’re doing a good job mama. 👍🏼😊🌻

    New subscriber to your channel. Interested in some of your historical videos from your open discussion of having a child with autism. I also have a child with autism (14) and a child with speech delays (5) not diagnosed further at this time. Your children are so adorable. I feel a connection to you since I too experienced so many sensory issues with foods until my child turned 10 and decided to try new foods - Slooowwly! I am pleased so say his taste for different foods have improved so stick with it. Our kids do have issues with texture but eventually open their minds to new items. Keep up the good work!

    Sorry I’m late again but have you tried giving Nate whipped yogurt? It’s lighter than normal yogurt and the texture is different though so he may not like it just a suggestion 😃 but anyways loved the video!! I need all the inspiration I can get for myself! 🤣 I’m not a parent I just enjoy these types of vids and there are so many types of people who pack lunches differently and there all great! But I don’t have fancy containers I use zip lock bags! 🤣! Good job Nate you ate a lot most every night and Lucy you always do good!

    How do your kids snack? Winston wants to snack all day! Lol
    of course I don’t let him, but I was just wondering. Your kids eat so good. Winston doesn’t! I’m hoping it’s just a stage!

    • @BlessedJess
      @BlessedJess  6 років тому +3

      My kids definitely used to snack more when they were younger. It's so common with toddlers. Right now, they have snacks every afternoon around 3pm. Unless I am pushing a meal time back to a later time, that's it. Once they eat their dinner, they can have a heathy snack if they are still hungry (this is usually Lucy). Snacking can definitely mess up meals so I try to limit them, but smaller kids need to snack more. You definitely have to do what works for your situation! :)
