I love they way you keep everything fun and interesting. Your the best mommy in the world! God Bless ❤️
Aww well thank you so much!
We have separate meal times too. My husband gets home an hour before bed time. My boys are super picky, 2 1/2 yo and 19mo. Plus it is nice to have a quiet dinner after the boys go to bed. I think as long as you get family time in at other times separate dinners are not horrible.
Thanks! I think for the stage of life that we are both in, we are doing a great job! As they get older, we can work on one dinner time. You gotta do what works for your situation! :)
I remember when my son was younger a Dr. told me if he wanted chicken and french fries ever day that was ok. He is 12 now and there are still a few things I fix he won't eat, but overall way better. Keep on being a short order cook ;) and don't worry about it.
Aww thanks so much! I agree with that advice. It seems like when we make a big deal about kids eating things, they refuse even harder. :)
“yes all of them” i love Lucy !!! im rewatching all your videos for the second time 😂😂
I just stumbled upon your videos. I have no idea why but watching what you serve for meals is entertaining to me right now!! Growing up I was on the picky side and boy did my mom's boyfriend give it to me when I wouldn't eat what my mom made!! Fun fact, she had to make him a special dinner most night!! So you making everyone happy is awesome!! I have a friend with 3 kids. Her two oldest are on the autism spectrum. Her oldest has a very limited vocabulary and her middle has sensory issues. She makes different meals for everyone each night. She, like you, are the true meaning of MOM. Kids first. Wishing all the happiness to you and your family!
Aww thanks so much, Denise! And WELCOME!
Good Job!! Do What Works For You And Your Kids. The Kids Are Happy You Are Happy It's A Win Win 💜
I enjoyed the dinners! Thanks so much! Hoping everyone is on the upswing. Blessings.
Thanks so much!
Excellent dinner video as always!
The dinners look very good. Thanks for sharing, Jess!
Thanks so much, Abby!
15:18 looks heavenly
Jess I loved this video. Thank you for taking the time to do this.
Thanks so much, Marlene!
Awesome video. I feel the same way as long as they eat that’s all that matters.
Your daughter loves all the right things!!
She does!
Your such a good mama and wife! Everything looked amazing
Aww thanks, Jennifer!
Love it!. I am intrested in the taco soup and the chicken noodle butter thing at the end. Thanks for sharing
Taco Soup is our fave! ua-cam.com/video/71P440-Z6d0/v-deo.html
I will film the soup recipe next time I make it!
I'm loving these videos !!! Thank you so much for making these!!! I'm a family of 8 and 1 of the kids has eating, and speech issues so I understand and these videos give me the best ideas thanks
So happy to help! Thanks so much!
You’re honestly an amazing mom. So many people say eat it or starve and don’t truly understand the texture issue. I’m a certified preschool teacher and parents would send things the kids could not stand. You’re doing an amazing job! It’s so clear you care deeply for them! Enough to make 3 meals. You’re great
Thanks so much, Hannah!
Thanks for sharing. I enjoyed watching this.
Thanks, Steph!
Love this video thanks so much for sharing
Thanks so much for watching!
Love the dinner videos...keep it up.
Thanks so much!
Loved this video, Jess!
Thanks so much!
Brilliant idea's such a great mum
Aww thanks so much!
YAY thanks for making this video
Thanks for watching!
I’m so glad you said what you did about making what works for certain kids especially special needs children so many parents force feed their children but I have ocd so as a child certain textures and such would cause me to fly into a panic and luckily my mom was alright about not forcing me but lots of people aren’t that way
I agree. I choose to not make food a battle. I encourage them to try new things but on their own. 😊
Loved seeing this! Thank u 💕
Thank you!
I make at least 2 if not 3 different meals for my family of 3, more nights than not and my son is 12. It works for us, even if some nights I get a bit frustrated. I sleep better and feel better knowing everyone ate something they liked for dinner and everyone is full.
I completely understand! You’re doing a great job!
I’m really impressed that a 3 year likes bell peppers! LoL I started teaching my little one at age 4 to spell by sitting at the kitchen table and calling out my grocery list and then she would write it down for me. We’d get to the onions or bell peppers and she’d write “yuck” next to them. LoL When it comes to salads and veggies we have to incorporate those things into our kids diets when they are young or they may never like them. I know full grown adults who will only eat corn and refuse to touch any other veggies bc it wasn’t part of their upbringing. You’re doing a good job mama. 👍🏼😊🌻
She has liked most veggies since she started eating solids. I have two boys that hate them. Lol. I keep trying!
Wow!! All looks super yummy!! Would love to see more!! 😊😊
Thanks so much! :)
Blessed Jess You're welcome!! 😊😊😄😄
Definitely trying that pasta soup! 😍
It was really good!
Please do more what’s for dinner
Great dinner ideas
Thanks!
Yayayayyaya I've been waiting for this for sooo long! Thank you💜
Yay! :)
We do something similar - a few different meals. ASD daughter with sensory needs = food isn't something we want to fight over. We just make sure she eats enough/ gets as much protein and some fruit/veggies if possible. I love your dinner ideas!
That's how I feel too! Thanks so much, Megan! You are doing a great job!
I loved this video!💞
Yay! So happy to hear that! :)
“Taco soup is not delicious” 🤣🤣🤣tooo cute !!
Haha
Also my kids are all grown now, but I never made my kids eat what they didn't like and I was a short order cook by choice, I loved seeing the kids eat what made them happy. Definitely my choice and not every parent will do that.
Agree! Every parent gets to choose how to cook/feed their kids! :)
Sunflower crunch salad yum. Try it with heated chick fillet a nuggets reminds me of applebees oriental salad.
Sounds good!
That pasta soup sounds good! I'll have to make this;
We really enjoyed it!
I fed my family the exact same way. My son also had/has sensory issues. My daughter ate a child modified version of what me and the hubs ate. You can’t have dinner be a screaming match every night. It’s not worth it. Just do what works :)
Totally agree, Donna! Pick your battles! :)
Yummy food. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Jess, your family is unique and special!! What works for your family is special and unique! These are fun videos, they give fun ideas!! I always said I will NEVER make a special meal, my kids will eat what we fix and like it. Then we had children. Let me tell you crow doesn’t taste very good 😜I can get into so much trouble at Trader Joe’s.
Haha! I think said very similar things! Thanks so much, girl! Hugs!
They make powdered vitamins for mixing in food/drinks if you are interested for nate 🤷🏼♀️
I'll keep that in mind!
Excellent dinner video
Thank you!
Blessed Jess Your welcome
My nephew has autism and sensory processing disorder and lots of issues with food.. he wont eat any fruits or vegetables but for the last year ( he is 12 years old) he has been drinking smoothies!! Have u tried smoothies with nate?? It helps to get some fruits and veggies in him
That’s awesome! I have tried smoothies and Nate isn’t a fan. But it’s something that I am going to keep trying! 😊
New subscriber to your channel. Interested in some of your historical videos from your open discussion of having a child with autism. I also have a child with autism (14) and a child with speech delays (5) not diagnosed further at this time. Your children are so adorable. I feel a connection to you since I too experienced so many sensory issues with foods until my child turned 10 and decided to try new foods - Slooowwly! I am pleased so say his taste for different foods have improved so stick with it. Our kids do have issues with texture but eventually open their minds to new items. Keep up the good work!
That’s awesome to know! Nate continues to amaze me with eating. Slowly but surely he will branch out and it’s so exciting! 😊
If I was a kid I'm a teenager now but if I was a kid again I would love those lunches because your very creative with them I don't like milk though but you do an amazing job 👏
Please do dinner that again that was a really good idea
Thanks, Hailey! Will do!
Thanks you
I'm struggling with condiments..do you like the aldi salad dressing? It just tastes funny to me
All I’ve ever had was the ranch and I really like it!
I like the butter milk ranch its so good that's the only one I like..
Have you tried powder vitamins for nate?
Not at this time.
My daughter is special needs, ASD as well as others, and she will eat the Trader Joe’s turkey burger at lunch. I make it like normal and put it in her bentgo lunch. Would Nate eat this for lunch since it has a lot of protein?
He’s so picky about burgers and temperature that I’m afraid of trying it and wasting a turkey burger! Lol.
I make different dinners to they gotta eat lol
Sorry I’m late again but have you tried giving Nate whipped yogurt? It’s lighter than normal yogurt and the texture is different though so he may not like it just a suggestion 😃 but anyways loved the video!! I need all the inspiration I can get for myself! 🤣 I’m not a parent I just enjoy these types of vids and there are so many types of people who pack lunches differently and there all great! But I don’t have fancy containers I use zip lock bags! 🤣! Good job Nate you ate a lot most every night and Lucy you always do good!
He doesn't like the whipped, but he loves regular yogurt! :)
Do your kids sit at the table to eat dinner?
They do. :)
I had a grilled chicken pattie from Dollar Store and it was kinda okay but I won’t recommend it for the future.
Good to know!
Blessed Jess Ususally when I’m at father’s house I eat what everybody eats. At my moms since my step dad doesn’t cook the healthiest. My mom is so cheap with her money that’s why we went DT to pick out three Dinner items to make.
Does Lucy not like Mac n cheese?
Nope! :)
I wonder if there is some sort of way you could pack a burger in Nate's lunch and figure out a way to keep it from getting soggy?
He's so picky about the hotness/freshness of burgers that I'm scared to try! Haha
Blessed Jess yeah, I was wondering about that too. Unless it's put in a thermos, it's hard to keep hot and cold stuff together and still maintain their temps lol. I don't blame him for not wanting a cold burger 😜 hahaha
Haha. It's so hard to figure out these lunches when he hates sandwiches and most every other typical lunch box food. Stinker! :)
Yea! I love these videos!! Wait ... am I first?!!?
Haha. Yes! :)
Do they eat all their dinner? Just asking 😊
Yep
Blessed Jess Excellent
Can you please share the pasta soup recipe with us? 😘
Here's the original recipe: brookelark.com/blog/2017/3/24/5-ingredient-cozy-pasta-parmesan-soup
I'm planning on filming how I did mine the next time I make it! It was a hit!
Thanks for sharing Jess! I look forward to seeing your version 😉
I "mostly" followed the recipe! Haha
How do your kids snack? Winston wants to snack all day! Lol
of course I don’t let him, but I was just wondering. Your kids eat so good. Winston doesn’t! I’m hoping it’s just a stage!
My kids definitely used to snack more when they were younger. It's so common with toddlers. Right now, they have snacks every afternoon around 3pm. Unless I am pushing a meal time back to a later time, that's it. Once they eat their dinner, they can have a heathy snack if they are still hungry (this is usually Lucy). Snacking can definitely mess up meals so I try to limit them, but smaller kids need to snack more. You definitely have to do what works for your situation! :)
Blessed Jess He would pick a “Snack” over any meal! Lol he woke up this morning and said mom I want a snack!! 😂
Your pasta soup thing looks amazing! Great job, Nate, eating when you're feeling pants is always a battle. Lucy's meals always look so colourful :)
Thanks so much!
We have an ultra picky grandson, but every year I see progress with his eating different foods.
Same with Nate! Little by little! :)
1:01 isn't it called fruit salad if you mix fruits together?
Yes, technically it is, I guess!
Mama bear you don’t have to explain why you do different things for your kids every family different I know what it’s like to have a child special needs I got a nephew that eats just like your son an I have a picky 16 month old son if someone don’t like it tell oh well
how old r ur kids
6 and 3
Blessed Jess so cute
I love this! I will soon be cooking for my boyfriend and his daughter and we plan to expand by 2 feet within the next year so this gives me ideas for them!
That's so great! Glad we could help!
Why don't you and your kids eat together
The kids eat earlier & differently than her & her husband. I believe she explained it somewhat during the video.
Is your husband a pastor?
Yes he is
