My sister has been going through practically the same thing, Jaime.
It started on the back of her legs. Her son came over one day and said it looked like she had been riding a motorcycle and got burns on her leg.
She started on some ointment the dermatologist had prescribed. She tried 2 or 3 different ones that ran from $75-$90.
She now gets an injection once a month. She was going to the doctor's office for the injection but she's working with the company that makes it and the pin is sent to her every month.
The pins are very expensive but they have programs that help patients and she doesn't have to pay for it now.
She's also diabetic and takes insulin so she doesn't have any trouble giving herself the injection. It's Cosentyx that she uses monthly.
Besides the psoriasis, she also has a lot of inflammation. She tries to avoid tomatoes, cheese and dairy. Even if she eats a little bit of these things her hands swell up and she can hardly bend her fingers.
I saw some pouches of plant based food at DT. One has lentils and there were a couple of others at my store.
I have a friend who moved here from Nebraska. She stayed in Texas for 35 years but her kids and grandkids wanted her to move back to Nebraska so they could be close since she's getting older.
I mention her because the kids opened a Mediterranean restaurant. It's probably the best kind of food that people should eat!
She ate there many times and loved the food! I want to talk to her and see if there are any recipes they would share.
So let me see what I can get so we can all go on the Mediterranean diet!😘
I know this is getting overwhelming for you! And probably one of the things they're telling you is so many of these things are caused by stress.😵‍💫
Your life changed drastically when you found out that you have ADHD. And all the other things seem to be intensified because you're dealing with ADHD first and foremost.
Just remember that we're here for you and you can come here and give us updates. We'll also pass on anything else that might help.🤗
My sister and I have talked about the Mediterranean diet and she's heard good things and is interested in learning more about it.
So hang in there Jaime! We'll work on this and see what we can do to help get through this!🥰

Thank you so much for sharing this!! I also heard about that injection, and that's something I'll look into if everything else fails.

My eczema flares when I eat highly processed, high sugar, and/or high sodium. Lots of convenience foods are sugar/salt bombs. I switched over to more homemade recipes. I also shop fruits/veg that are in season. Grocery shop and prep fresh ingredients for the week on Sunday, it’s a game changer. Don’t be afraid of eating the same meals over and over. Also correctly storing fruits and veggies for a longer life will help. I fed my family of three on $80 dollars a week, that’s $320 a month. But you could go even cheaper. Make an inventory of your pantry/fridge and plan healthy meals around those.

Jaime…❤ what’s most important and all of this is your health! You have great content, and there is plenty for us to watch. At the risk of being blunt anybody rude enough to comment on what’s wrong with you? Why haven’t you done this or I don’t wanna watch this stuff I wanna watch your other stuff … go away. The Mediterranean diet sounds fascinating. Honestly, what interests me lately is no cook meals. Or minimal cook meals.. 🙏🏻 you feel better soon. ❤️❤️

As a nurse, there is a lot of info out there. What works for one does not work for all and even folks who are well meaning can give advice that is detrimental to you or your condition. I tend to recommend a three pronged approach when working with immune/inflammatory chronic issues. dermatologist, allergist, and nutritionist all working together on the inside, the outside, and the nutritional foundation of your body. Stress reduction is also critical when dealing with immune/inflammation as stress increases many chemicals that our bodies make. The increases then exacerbate the immune response. Sending a huge hug and prayers.

I also have eczema flare ups and look forward to your videos and updates. I am also near Meijer and am curious how you manage the Flash Food boxes. I have never gotten one but may do so after I see your strategies. Thank you for your candor and for being vulnerable.

Turmeric is so good for pain due to inflammation. Pills, powder or tea. Good luck on this new journey!!! I agree that the Mediterranean diet is the way to go. My health coverage is really advocating for a plant based diet, new concept for them!!!😊

Fellow eczema sufferer here and wanted to let you know I had it very bad all over my upper body and arms, etc. I did get a good sensitivity test and very little came back as problematic for me. I was avoiding any potential common triggers including gluten, dairy, etc. Flowed a very restrictive diet, it didn’t help much. My chiropractor recommended omega 3’s. I started taking cold pressed salmon oil capsules and after a few weeks I noticed a huge improvement and basically mine is totally fine now with the exception of a minor flare up here and there, typically triggered by stress. Hope this helps, we are all different, but for me, that helped tremendously. I don’t restrict my diet of anything, although I do eat pretty healthy most of the time. Not to worry you, but about a year later I was diagnosed with an autoimmune condition. I’m not saying that you have anything like that, but I think for me, the eczema was one of many systemic issues of that underlying condition. Hope you get some relief.

I know no one will probably li8sten but... Raw African Shea butter! I use it for almost everything skin and joint related. I had second degree burns on my hands that with daily use were gone within a week. I cannot move my hands or other joints due to arthritis, until I apply this. It keeps swelling down, heals wounds, removes scars to a great degree, heals eczema, and firms sagging skin.. Amazon has it cheap. Buy the Raw form. Sometimes it might be a little hard and grainy, but that is normal, use it anyway. yes it has a yellow color, but it absorbs pretty quickly and stays on awhile and the color disappears... My daughter had bad adult acne, started using it and it went away (she mixes it with her favorite skin oils like almond). It does have a slight nutty smell, that is also normal. Be well..

I went through something similar. 1. Why in the world hasn’t any of these doctors given you a course of prednisone? A prednisone pack is a 6 day course and will calm down the inflammation and not have any terrible long term effects. Your itching will be gone in a week or two. 2. Are you taking any vitamins, supplements, OTC meds (like for colds or pain like Tylenol) etc.? It could be an allergy to an additive. It took over 10 YEARS of doctors and dermatologists and allergy testing for one doctor to FINALLY figure out (and by figure out I mean took a good guess) that I had an allergy to polyethylene glycol. The problem first began when I was pregnant and I was taking prenatal vitamins that had that ingredient. The symptoms don’t show up on me right away, but if I take something with that ingredient on a steady basis for a few weeks, it flares up, so that’s why allergy testing in a doctor’s office didn’t work. I ‘experimented’ a few times to see if that was definitely the problem and sure enough, that was it. The Covid vaccine has polyethylene glycol in it which is why I had to take the J&J shot. I had a cortisone shot of all things that triggered a reaction on the same day because it had that additive. So go to the doctor, TELL them you want a course of prednisone. If they can’t tell you what is triggering it, then how can they say that prednisone won’t help? Also start taking a look at what you were ingesting prior to the flare up and seeing what additives are in it. If it’s an allergic reaction like what I’m describing, diet and stress reduction is not going to fix it.

Thank you for sharing your experience! I'll look into the prednisone. And I'm taking miscellaneous vitamins so I'll look at those too.

Have you considered homemade sourdough ?
I personally need help with bulk breakfasts!

Sweet lady, I would love to talk to you about all of this that is stressing you, making you so uncomfortable, and causing your ADHD brain so much turmoil. I am no expert but I have dealt with almost everything you are going through for over 40 years now. My arthritis and fibromyalgia make it painful to type, so if you want to talk to me, we can figure out a way to do that. BTW, I lived in Williams County Ohio for 30+ years. I understand the weather, the overall climate, and the stores, etc. I might be able to off some really good advice for you.

Leaf green and home made food because there is not any good food that comes made. Too much chemicals in food that you don't make.

I have gone to Urgent Care 12 times over a 5 year span because of eczema. Of course I had gone to my GP, dermatologist, allergist, and Ear nose and throat doctor. I followed every Guru, did a lot of research. I am not completely symptom free, but I have been managing the flare-ups.
I started with fasting 1-3 days and then introduce food, lotions, OTC remedies one thing at a time. Found out some triggers are pepper(s), tomatoes (nightshade veg). I take krill oil, 50 billion units of a 20 strain probiotic, 1090 HG of Pau D'arco. I was with an antibacterial soap I make from Castile Soap-Water-10 drops of Tea Tree oil-10 drops pf Frankincense. It smells terrible, so I have a rinse of Lavender-Mint with Castile soap and water.
I have Eczema around all joints, breasts, hands, around eyes/mouth,hairline, and in my ears. It can be debilitating, I have a hard time regulating my body temperature during flare-ups. I have cancelled plans, so that I can just stay home and remain calm.
I hope this may help anyone that reads it.
btw- I found that Turmeric did not help me, because of pepper ( curcumin).
