Hey, Laura, so glad there are other people who cut into their rulers😅. I have found that there are plastic (e.g. see-through) rulers with A METAL EDGE - combining the best of both worlds! I do hope that some of the crafting companies will be catching on to the amazingness that such a tool is. If you can track one down in the meantime, do give it a try.
