People, please be careful, I have the sm-p550; the LCD was fine but the digitizer was cracked; the videos make it look very easy but there is strong adhesive between the digitizer and LCD not just on the edges... I made the mistake of underestimating the adhesive in the middle of the screen, there is adhesive all across every inch of lcd and digitizer! Please take caution; I've ordered the full assembly (LCD and Digitizer) now due to my error. I feel like an idiot for this one; i guess you can't win them all... Great video btw guys!
On the P550 the display and glass are glued together, but that's not the case with the T550. Maybe has something to do with the SPen functionality, but I don't know.
But I can confirm that there's no glue in the middle of the screen on the T550, done this repair myself just yesterday.

Yes that's what I thought, glue all over the place, that's why I haven't tried it myself, I have the screen digitalizer READY to be put on, I was going to use a hair drier since I don't have a heat gun but even so it's too risky, that's why I'll bring everything together to the local shop so that they can do it themselves, just don't pay too much for it cuz then it's not worth it.
Thanks, with this video I just saved my Tab A for just 13€. It's quite easy, but be careful while heating the bezel borders, I damaged a little the LCD. Don't point the heating gun/hair dryer on it However it's still usable and I don't have to buy a new tablet. ❤

Thanks for the Video, I managed to replace the broken touch screen of the Galaxy Tab A without major problems. I could do it even with a normal hairdryer (takes more time than with a hot air gun of course). However, I would stongly recommend to wear goggles as a lot of small glas pieces can occur.
Another important tip is to remove the password prior to repair so that you can power off the device even if the touch screen does not work in the first test.

This took me three hours to complete. I'm an advanced techie and doing this first time. Video makes it look easier than actually is and not for the average user to do without breaking it somehow. Make sure to spend days preparing for it if trying to fix it yourself.

Funny, I'm not a techie (and doing it for the first time) and I was done in 15 minutes. All it took was 2 guitar picks (1 thin, one heavy) and a hair dryer.

@@lcfflc3887 stuff like this isn’t that hard just gotta be careful while keeping a steady pace. Sometimes some tablets are more stubborn than others but it’s all the same unless it’s an apple product then it’s just a battle.

Hello, I recently did this change, but my tablet won't boot properly afterwards. I've checked everything is properly connected and I know the battery has charge left. When I hold the Power+Vol Down after a few moments the screen lights up for 1 second but then goes black again, and it's the only way I get any signs of life. No samsung logo or charge indicator when i plug it into charger.
Maybe you used too much heat, that's a very critical part of this whole repair thing.

I replaced my screen but the touch screen isn't working. I've checked the cable from the screen to the tablet and it couldn't be anymore secure. Any ideas?
Edit: I can get the drop down menu to to work and the settings button from that menu. So just the very top works.
