This set is a personal favorite for a non-heralded rookie card of 3 Royals pitchers. I love this set for the overlapping of the stars: those going out like Willie McCovey, and the newcomers like Rickey Henderson and Eddie Murray. That World Series loss still stings as a Quiz fan. Thanks for sharing.

... that ''Rickey Henderson'' RC is super awesome!
he's so under-rated given that he is ''THE'' King in 2 very important categories ...
    1. He is the ... STOLEN BASES ''King''!!
    2. He is the ... ''KING of RUNS" ... yep ... most RUNS scored ever!
    (most people don't know 'that')
    ... and,
Ya can't win a game without scoring in 'em RUNS!!
Indeed ... Rickey Henderson is proud of his stolen bases record,
HOWEVER ... he is MOST PROUD of his ''RUNS'' record ....
    #RickeyHenderson

    AWESOME "Dale Murphy" card ...
"NOT" his Rookie card, but still -- Great Card ... Luv it!

BUT still, the card you feature in this video totally Totally -- RULES!!

Yes! Love the 1980 cards! The Gary Carter is a fantastic card. I do like the 80 all star cards as well. But for some reason and I do not know why, the 1991 all star is my favorite of the 80s and 90s. The Dawson is a nice one too. Same with the Dale Murphy. That is one of the better Mike Schmidt photos. Of course love the rickey henderson rc. All fantastic though. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Steve. I had to look up the 1991 All Star and yes, I agree they are sharp looking. I remember the 1988 Topps All-Stars being ugly. Though, the 1988 Topps Baseball set has the best photography in my opinion prior to the shiny card era. The All-Star cards are just disappointing.

I have that Yount in a hard plastic and in a sheet in a binder. I can tell you before baseball cards became a business in my area we had that cards in a shoebox with rubberbands so i'm guessing mine is a 7 or an 8 both Younts. I also have that Bench in the same binder ,
did you get these cards as a kid or later on in life say at a card store or shows?
I also like that Yellow jersey summer 1979 warm yellow looks nice.
nice yount, Fisk, Carter, Bench , Perez, Murray, Carlton
Winfield , Dawson, Niekro, Schmidt, Murphy,
Gaylord Perry, Steve Garvey, Eckersley, MCcovey , Ozzie Smith, Molitor
Brett, Henderson, Seaver , Rose, Ryan , Palmer
Mr. October, Willie Stargell , Morgan, Rollie Fingers , Carew Yaz
I have a bunch of these cards not everyone but like the Stargell , Morgan and the ones I mentioned above.
this is far and away better than the 1986 set. this competes with the 1973, 1975 and 1972 sets it may be better than 1976. it might be.
it's as good as your 1974 , 1976 and 1980 Hockey set and it's as good as your 1976 and 1980 Football set.
so your favorite cards are the Yankees and Pirates mine hands down is the Rickey Henderson.
    wheres Trammell ?

    • @tjmacvintagecardsnostalgia648

I bought these cards as an adult many years ago already graded. There is no Trammell beach he was not a hall of famer at the time and the non. Hall of Famers I have in the set such as Garvey and Murphy I liked better as players and were more reflective of that era. Just personal preference. The Henderson is a great looking card. The 80 set does look great and is one of my favorite sets for nostalgic reasons.

Glad you got a Henderson. The prices are getting crazy. When I was collecting in 80 I didn’t know who Henderson was. I was looking for Dave Parker, Craig Nettles, Reggie Jackson and Steve Garvey. @@tjmacvintagecardsnostalgia648 ... I remember my pops telling me a story about how he one time saw Rickey when he came here in a AA game and in the warmups when the players did some sprints he ran backwards and beat them. @@tjmacvintagecardsnostalgia648 Absolutely! I spotted a PSA 8 Winfield for $9.99 plus shipping and jumped on it. Don’t often see them get listed that low. With shipping you’re looking at at least $20 for an 8 for the minor hall of famers. But I guess that’s what I’d have to pay to buy a raw card and get it graded. So I probably shouldn’t complain. But those $20+ purchases add up quickly on a limited budget.
