So I wonder how far in the future the "evil leapers" were from in TOS? They might be still out there somewhere doing what the military is now trying to do.
Love this idea. I would prefer the "evil leapers" be another faction with differing ideology rather than pure evil, so good plan. A random side idea, what if this all starts at "the end of the world" and someone leaps back as an attempt to prevent the apocalypse only to realize they can't travel far enough back so there are several leapers interacting trying to piggy back onto older QL programs in order to change history enough. This could also involve Sam and Ben interacting with Martinez out of order
I agree that it is a solid theory, except that when Sam first met Alia, Alia didn't seem to know who he was. I would have expected that if Sam were somehow involved in "Project Evil Quantum Leap," Alia would have known who he was. Then again, she is an Evil Leaper, so she could have been lying. I don't mind the Evil Leapers being part of a corrupt government/military project in the future, but I am hoping that neither Sam nor Janis is part of it. I think the military might commandeer the project that Magic has built (even more than they already have) and boot Magic, et al, off it. Then Magic, et al, would ally themselves with Janis. Interestingly enough. maybe something like this was attempted in the original pilot for this continuation, which is why Scott Bakula turned them down. (Granted, though. This is pure speculation.) Love your theory! It makes a lot of sense. I did love the evil leapers, and always wondered just where/when they came from, and if they used, or will use, PQL as their base.
They should make this in that way. At the end of the first episode, Ben notices someone watching him and realizes it's Sam himself. Sam smiles and waves his hand to Ben and says "Bye Bye" and Ben leaps.

So now Ben is going back in time to stop Leaper X with he help of Al's daughter.
The story of where Ben is going and the evil leapers sounds like an excellent plot point. However, if Scott Bakula were to reprise his roll as Sam Beckett it may be able to give both sets of fans (the original fans of the original show and the new fans of the newer iteration) a way to have Dr, Beckett hopefully return home and give Ben a chance to return back to his original time frame where he started leaping from. Thank you for your insights, I was a bit just okay with episodes 1 and 2 but once the 3rd episode air I was very okay with the cast and direction the show appeared to be taking. My biggest concern is that we will not care enough of who Ben has leaped into as we did when Sam jumped in. I felt in the original show with Mr Bakula and Mr Stockwell, that even though they were the stars the real star of the show was the unknown character and solving their issue. Why that was important to me I can not explain but it was why I tuned in faithfully week after week for the entire series. I still worry that the cast back at the office will begin to dominate the shows content again taking it away for the reason for leaps. If the team is searching for Sam than I am sure every one will be there for that, whether they find him or not. We all want to see a search. Either way as of this writing I am certainly a fan and will stay again until the end, which with luck will be many seasons away.
I think they are spending too much time on the mystery box plot element and the "modern day project HQ" scenes. We don't get enough time with Ben in his leap.
@@southerncomfort971 It could be a factor, though the only veteran actor in the HQ scenes is Ernie Hudson. The rest are newer actors or bit actors (or both). I can't imagine Hudson's contract doesn't have some kind of minutes used stipulation or something...
@@mickidoesmedia as in a number of shows, salaries get discovered and more screen time gets demanded and when sponsors or producers start feeling the pinch, shows change. new or veteran actors all have agents and like in sports make bad decisions for the client, which will eventually change the show. The original show mostly only had the 2 main characters to worry about.
This show is great! I hate to say it, but even better than the original -- what with it's having a groovy and legitimate ongoing story in addition to the whole "mission of the week" thing. Most of all I love that we're all STILL being asked to completely forget the poor displaced-in-time sap sitting in (formerly Sam's) Ben's body in/near the imaging chamber (sorry, but it's a groovy "non-trope" to continue). I'm 100% on board for whatever's coming.
I like the theory that Sam is trying to stop the evil leapers, because he is the one who gave them all the information of quantum leap, the episode when he leaped in to the body of the old man who is obsessed with ufo sightings. In that episode Sam is given truth serum and devouges on tape all secrets to quantum leap, this in turn the army make their own lab and send the evil leapers.. this is what Sam is trying to fix
As hardcore fan who grew up on the old school show, I truly hope Sam does come back. We deserve a ending where Sam comes home . It really wasn’t fair to see a message like that. It truly doesn’t make sense why don, dean, & Scott would spend years to try bring it back. Just to hear Scott puts on cryptic message to the fans to say no. After all those years it doesn’t make alot of sense to bail like that, even for a small cameo.
To quote another Captain (Picard) during his series finale, " Alot can happen in 25 years!" Changed timeline Edit: "Far into the future?" Like say, 130 yrs? 2152 AD Around the time of Enterprise, and a Temporal Cold War? Hmmm.🤔
Big fan of the original 2020 is a solid production which has not disappointed but more importantly, staying faithful to whats established with a bit of a tweak Keep it coming
I knew I would enjoy this show when those words popped up before seeing anything else. And them acknowledging Sam's Quantum Leap project. And as you're watching the pilot, seeing familiar characters and names, I'm so here for it!!! And when Janice gets her dad's handheld,..........nostalgic overload!!!
I’d love an entire plot that has nothing to do with Sam but leads to him anyway, resolve his plot, let this show BE quantum leap, not a show ABOUT quantum leap. Bakula cameos tossed in for extra spice once in awhile is more than enough. This show is just as good as the original without needing to rest on it.
I just went over to Rotten Tomatoes to give it a positive review. I've been enjoy the show. I'm curious about the potential evil leaper, and I was amazed that Ben went outside his timeline. I'm happy that there have been additional episodes picked up. Congrats to them.
The new Quantum Leap show is very good actually.I enjoy the stories and characters each week as the mystery unfolds and the concept of travelling through time is exciting in every way.I’m sure Sam will eventually be found in the future place of choice. And all questions and mysteries will be explained and solved
I was excited to see your follow-up to the first video about the series based on the commercials promoting it. I was hoping you were enjoying it every bit as I was, and I totally agree, Ben is searching for Sam. I can't wait to see the direction this show takes!
I was telling my husband that I have a feeling that Ben was trying to bring Sam home and that he must be changing the timeline because of Sam. I've been watching the ratings and I hope people will give it a chance. Even though Scott Bakula isn't in it now, but I do think he will be in it when it comes to bringing him home. Every episode in some sense has something to do with Sam.
Since this was posted months ago and we're only two episodes away from the season finale, I have to say this is a damn good theory, and anything is still possible.
What the original show did very well, is have a known historical moment happening in the background of each new leap. Which gave it a; stability in memories, rooting it in reality but keeping it asking questions.. all the while keeping a moral fortitude.
I truly hope this will lead to Sam coming back. I haven't watched the show for that reason. Maybe I'll give it a chance if it seems he'll come back!! 💝
I do wish the new show would explain why the Waiting Room is not being used. It was a major point in the old series! I also thought by now Beth would tell Janice or Magic that she met Sam before she decided to get remarried and he told her Al was still alive. And I hope at some point, Ben gets to leap into the bar that Sam was in just a moment after Sam leaped to see Beth. I’m not sure if the actor that played “God/Al bartender” is still alive but it would be cool!
Yes, Bruce Travis McGill is still going strong at 72, and I would love for them to work his character in again as God/Time because what many have not mentioned is that he was also in the first leap in the very first episode, so it could give credence to him watching over Sam and possibly now Ben as well. Also, that original clip of the alternate ending ua-cam.com/video/N2kI5pkdEwA/v-deo.html shows Al discussing with his now only wife Beth, that they are still searching for Sam and now his body is missing from the imaging chamber, I wish they would have somehow incorporated it into this show as like a flashback, it would have given original series watchers such as myself better closure to the original and a stronger tie in to this series.
@@alanluber4160 Oh yes, I forgot he was in the very first leap location that Sam was at! The air base testing area. I still think they could work in the unshown ending from the original series. They could have Magic go see Beth again and they could show it as a “flashback” from Beth’s memory. We all know she saw Sam as he really was when he leaped into her house to tell her Al was coming home. I think Al’s daughter Janice is not just helping Ben to save his fiancée’s life in the future, I think she’s trying to fulfill her father’s final promise to Sam to get him back home. Maybe Ben agreed to help her if she helped him first. But I’m really confused about the Marine guy who becomes a leaper in the “future”. They aren’t playing it like he is an “evil/Satan” leaper, he even touched Ben and nothing happened. He could see Ben and Ben could see him, in true form. When Sam met the evil leaper, “Leah(?)”, he couldn’t see her true form and vice versa till he grabbed her. It’s, Kahka, as Al would say!! 🤗😉
@@FlowerGemsGirl Yup, it is a bit kaka, in the original it was mostly about the story, social issues, exploring the way women, people of color and the disabled were treated, historic gems like in S01E05 when he is a veterinarian and inspires a soon to be Buddy Holly with piggy sew, this is what I think resonates with older viewers such as myself, but now it's more about the project? ugh.... it is still early on, and they were just granted six more episodes so there is time for some further explanations of things, as well as tying in Janice working with Ben to fulfill a promise she made to her father and the evil leaper Leah, love both of those ideas. However, whether or not they do it keeping it logical and canon, remains to be seen, as destroyed franchises like Dr. Who, Star Wars and Trek have shown Hollywood is just a complete mess, real kaka! but currently Quantum is their number one show, and they have time to tweak it, but I am not holding my breath, let's see what we get come January...🙏🤞🙏
Guess you never heard of CGI you know they got a habit of resurrecting actors at the pathway and then resurrect them for scene like they did in gladiator when the actor I forgot who it was he died during the filming to resurrect his character for the movie so even when you're resting in peace they won't let you rest in peace
Haven't watched your video yet, just responding to the splash page. Ben said in the last episode Addison was his reason for jumping. So, we have to assume the other leaper must be doing something that is going to compromise her existence. The person they were talking about when Ben's accomplice said they found "him" is probably the other leaper, not Sam. Sam will certainly make a cameo though. They already set the two shows up for that. However, he's not the focus. OK, now I'll watch your video.
You should always continue a series with honorable characters, they become role models to the next abd beyond generation. We need more characters like that because positive compassionate characters make things better for life on and off screen.
I really believe that it’s a matter of time before Sam Beckett actually comes home if not this season, but the next possibly❤ oh, I definitely hope this gets more seasons. I love it. ❤
I grew up on this show and it was my all time favorite! The new show is great and I’m excited Sam is coming back (hopefully he stay) 🥰 please keep the episodes coming!
It better be, and if it gets canceled the last episode NEEDS to be Sam found and brought home to his wife, Sammie Jo, and Al's family. If they waste that chance for a happy ending, then oh boy!
I’ll admit when I first heard of the show being rebooted I was very skeptical and didn’t want to watch I just said I’d give it one episode maybe two. Best decision I’ve made this is easily the best show of this new year and I hope it goes on for a while and I hope we get answers that we never got back with the old show
This video is old... So UPDATE: I have seen the entire 1st season of Quantum Leap 2022. Ben is NOT looking for Sam. Magic's reason for restarting the Quantum Leap program, however was to bring Sam home, but NOT actively searching for him now. I'm not going to drop a spoiler for those of you who haven't seen the 2022 continuation, but em.... NOPE there is a whole other reason that Ben Song leapt in the first place.
This is a really good theory 👏 You're right , I was also thinking he was leaping to find Sam. The show is ok. Its definitely not as good as the original. But I'm watching every episode as they come out. I guess my hope is that Sam will join the show. But I guess we will find out.
Same feeling ive had about the show so far. I think Bakula saying he will not be in the series was just something to throw people off. I have a feeling he will be making a few cameos
I love the show! The mystery and journey has been intriguing. That is an interesting theory. It makes sense with the woman trying to shut down Quantum Leap and Magic convinces her not to. Maybe the military needs Sam because he can leap anywhere. I believe Ben and Janice are trying to find sam in the future to prevent the military from causing havoc with Quantum Leap and Sam is the key to leaping to a single point.
I remember in the original show, they did something like evil leapers. But it looked like just one. I would like it better to have Sam tried to stop the evil leapers and as Sam tries to tell him that the show ends
FUN! I really like this potential plot. I hope they build on the evil leapers theory because that was one of my favorite elements from the original show-- even though there were only 2 episodes.
This is a very interesting theory. Now no matter what happens I'm really enjoying the show. It brought back a lot of great memories and what's funny is I never caught on to Magic until he revealed who he was. Yes I'm terrible lol. But when he did I got extra excited. Another thing the show does which I think is really clever is they're showing what goes on "behind the scenes" when Ben leaps. Showing the team that helps him is huge and could very well be the glue that keeps this show together.
My guess is that they plan to have Ben go after saving Sam but if he doesn’t sign up to retake the role, they will change the plot to be some other leaper story.
just finally caught up today and i am hoping scott in some way gets to pass the torch like so many have been able to do as guest stars to current and now even dead shows. CURSE YOU CW.
I was really bothered by the low production quality of ep1, but then by ep3 it started getting good. I really appreciate the serial thread they are laying groundwork for. I liked the future twist last week. I still don't need to see Scott reprise Sam, as long as it is acknowledged somewhere what happened as part of the serial line. Basically I think they are going the right direction. It still needs some tweaks to the production & directing as character relationships remain stilted and not believable - Basically the "network TV" syndrome has to be fixed.
I like this theory a lot. The evil leapers coming from our future government as a weapon makes so much sense. However, I don't think Sam would be a part of the creation of lothos, or whatever the evil leaper A.I. is. In the episode that we meet the evil leapers, it tells them to kill Sam. That part wouldn't make sense(i recently rewatched the evil leaper episodes lol). Other than that, this is a great theory.
What about the Evil Leapers actually correcting the timeline. Maybe Sam has messed up and the only way to prevent some huge damage (apocalypse) he himself doesn't see another way than to kill his early self and create a discontinuity where the apocalypse is avoided and the timeline with the apocalypse and him inventing Iothos ceases to exist...
I'm not sure about the "evil leapers", but I do believe by the end of the 1st season, we will find out why Ben did what he did, and that somehow Dr. Sam Beckett will show up. At least, that's what I'm hoping
I never started watching Because I read Bakula wouldn't be a part of it and that it was a reboot, I'm interested now with this new information. I hope Sam comes back..
I kinda suspected something like this when Scott supposedly turned down the role so easily. I felt that they didn't want to give away too much yet. Also, Belisarius was opposed to the idea of Sam and Al leaping into the future. This was part of the reason why the show got cancelled prematurely. The evil leaper theory sounds really good. Has my attention. Just wish they'd bring back the waiting room 🤔
I agree; however, I think he didn't like something about how his character was written, and NBC was insistent on going through with it and refused to negotiate with him. If that is the case, he was absolutely right to refuse. Sam can be naive, but he is not evil. The idea of Sam being protrayed as evil would not sit well with most Leapers, myself included. Also it does not make sense on the basis of what is in the fifth season. (If the evil leapers knew he would be instrumental in their project in the future, it would not make sense for them to want to kill him in the second and third episodes of Evil Leaper arc. Also, I would have expected Alia and Zoey to have known that Sam was leaping around, but they didn'tappear to.)
I have yet to watch the series, but if it does go this way, I would have to tune in. I always wanted to see Sam come back home, and was bummed when he didn't. Would love to see the show rectify that.
Actually a pretty good theory. I’ve been thinking something very similar to this since you guys talked about the slingshot theory in Episode 3 and theorized on the ripple effect it might be having on that destination point. I do think they’re leaning into the idea that something catastrophic is going to occur in the very near future, which is why Janis texted Ben that the “window is closing.” Martinez probably has something to do with it and their goal is to negate what is about to happen, or cause enough ripples (about 10 to 20) to shift the timeline enough to be in a better position to change what is about to happen. Whether Sam Beckett is directly involved in that in some form or another remains to be seen. I think the writers have purposely given themselves several paths to go down in the event that they’re unable to involve Scott. I would go so far as to say that perhaps we are already witnessing the altered timeline, and the conclusion of this storyline might sort of “reset” certain things moving forward and perhaps make it easier to find Sam.
wow, this makes so much sense! Correcting all the wrongs in the past resulted in those characters in each episode actually all together contributing to creating a new timeline that the "disaster" is not going to happen, that would be awesome to see all connected!
Watching this episode now. So I haven’t seen the whole thing. I do suspect the show’s overlying plot/goal is to get Sam home. They’ve mentioned Sam and Al more than once. Your theory makes sense. Especially given what we saw in the Halloween episode. I hope they don’t cancel the show before we get a satisfying resolution other than Sam never made it home. Also the tie in to Evil Leapers from the original show.👍
I was thinking that Ben leaped to save his team, in particular his girlfriend Addison. It has something to do with their future, possibly a future child who will change the world for the good 🤷♀️
I was a Fan of Quantum Leap! Sam and Al were my Idols😅. Naturally I was disappointed when it ended, and how it ended. Then I read, there was another attempt on this plot. I was and I am terrified. Up until now I thought nothing could match the original. Thanks to you I think I will give this new version a shot. Even if this means to not see Scott Bacula and my favourite Al Dean Stockwell.
I have only seen the first 2 episodes, and love it already. I loved the original, and it would be great to have Scott Bakula as Sam Becket come back at the end of season 1. Maybe your theory about evil leapers is correct, it would make things interesting and keep people watching.
Nice idea very well thought out. Tbh I’m really enjoying this series. Think I’m preferring the present as we not used to seeing all that. Missing the humour that sam an al had but still really enjoying it.

@@mickidoesmedia this is my biggest worry about the show. Knowing actors have large ego's will they be happy with smaller support roles.
Thank you for this post. I am one who refused to watch because Bakula didn't come back. I will now give it a try.
Haven't caught this yet, but this is making me all excited!
Had myself convinced I'd never like this new Quantum Leap. And I was right...I frikn LOVE IT!
Scott HAS to do something with the show. Go on Scott! Do it!
I'm tuning in no matter what, and very hopeful for SB at some point.
To quote another Captain (Picard) during his series finale, " Alot can happen in 25 years!"
Changed timeline Edit: "Far into the future?" Like say, 130 yrs? 2152 AD Around the time of Enterprise, and a Temporal Cold War? Hmmm.🤔
Big fan of the original
2020 is a solid production which has not disappointed but more importantly, staying faithful to whats established with a bit of a tweak
Keep it coming
I knew I would enjoy this show when those words popped up before seeing anything else. And them acknowledging Sam's Quantum Leap project. And as you're watching the pilot, seeing familiar characters and names, I'm so here for it!!! And when Janice gets her dad's handheld,..........nostalgic overload!!!
Season 2 Dr. Sam becomes the new hologram to help Dr. Ben. Now that would be awesome.
That's a great theory and y Becket need to come back.
My entire family is glued to the tv when Quantum Leap comes on.
I am going to subscribe to peacock solely for Quantum Leap BECAUSE of your videos..... Law and Order will just be a bonus
I like the evil leaper theory. Hopefully they bring Scott B. back in some form to bring closure to the original show.
A damn good theory--I love it. And I totally love the show, plus I'm especially hoping Sam Becket makes it back home.
Please Ccott Bakula, come back Sam to home, I cry everytime i see the last episode, I need that
Yes!!! Yes!!! To ALL your questions!! I LOVE the new show and how it connects to the old one! I KNOW Sam will show up!
I was excited to see your follow-up to the first video about the series based on the commercials promoting it. I was hoping you were enjoying it every bit as I was, and I totally agree, Ben is searching for Sam. I can't wait to see the direction this show takes!
Not the same without Scott tried watching but isn't the same so given up 😂😂😂
I was telling my husband that I have a feeling that Ben was trying to bring Sam home and that he must be changing the timeline because of Sam.
I have started watching this show and am really enjoying it. I didn't think it would be that good, but it had surprised me greatly.
I really hope that Scott comes back that would be so awesome
I love this show I be waiting for the next week I hope there is a season 2 and it doesn't take long for it to come back
You should always continue a series with honorable characters, they become role models to the next abd beyond generation. We need more characters like that because positive compassionate characters make things better for life on and off screen.
Yes hope so on Sam elivl leapers yes let hope we can bring both home.
I had enough time to go & make a cup of tea during the upside sponsor section.🤣🤣🤣🤣
We WILL! thanks
The original series is on sale now for $28 bluray
It better be, and if it gets canceled the last episode NEEDS to be Sam found and brought home to his wife, Sammie Jo, and Al's family. If they waste that chance for a happy ending, then oh boy!
I’ll admit when I first heard of the show being rebooted I was very skeptical and didn’t want to watch I just said I’d give it one episode maybe two. Best decision I’ve made this is easily the best show of this new year and I hope it goes on for a while and I hope we get answers that we never got back with the old show
Take note writers of the show! /bows down
We are not worthy Bee :) Thank you!
BRING BACK SAM !!
YOU ARE LOVED SCOTT BAKULA!
PLEASE COME BACK 🙏
This video is old...
I love this show!
This is a really good theory 👏 You're right , I was also thinking he was leaping to find Sam. The show is ok. Its definitely not as good as the original. But I'm watching every episode as they come out. I guess my hope is that Sam will join the show. But I guess we will find out.
I gave them a chance been watching since first one and it is really good !!!
Same feeling ive had about the show so far. I think Bakula saying he will not be in the series was just something to throw people off. I have a feeling he will be making a few cameos
The continuation is tight and the casting is good. They pay tribute to the past and there was been so much history irl since!!
The sound score is so much better too and Ernie Hudson as Magic is a nice origin of the reboot on the program
I wish they never cancelled the recent reboot i hope this show comes back and i hope they do bring Sam back
Love Quantum Leap!!! Subscribed to Peacock, just for this show.
yes yes i believe DR beckket must come back he is the origanl leaper it would be awsem
now i understand the show
This is a very interesting theory.
I'm watching episodes on Peacock and I'm loving it! I can't wait to see where it all goes.
Please bring this show back
I wish Scott would come back, even if its 4 a short x. I'd like to see him go home.... Unless he really wants to stay were he is.
It's really good. I watched Sam back then and I want to see him back.
I never started watching Because I read Bakula wouldn't be a part of it and that it was a reboot, I'm interested now with this new information. I hope Sam comes back..
I absolutely love this idea! Ties up the Sam loose end and the evil leapers loose end.
if the new story comes out, it will be great, I loved watching the old series, now I'm watching the new one!!!
@@documentmedic9385 Unless "evil" Sam was leaped into by the devil/demon leaper.
Also the tie in to Evil Leapers from the original show.👍
That would be epic
I was thinking that Ben leaped to save his team, in particular his girlfriend Addison. It has something to do with their future, possibly a future child who will change the world for the good 🤷♀️
When are we going to be given the chance to watch the new Quantum Leap series in the UK?
Fair enough!
Keep this show going.........PLEASE
Great storytelling on your part. Exciting to watch your prwsentation
Evil Leapers?
The Theory Of The Possibility Of This Show Has Potential!
Love the show so far.
