  • This episode had so many emotional moments, that it was hard to count them all, but this one was arguably the heaviest of them all. Hank Parker tells a story where Dale Earnhardt expressed to him that he felt he wasn't as good of a father as Hank was. At the end of the story, Hank makes a statement that makes Dale Jr. say "I wish I had heard this a long time ago."

How can you not love Hank Parker Sr!!
He articulates the dynamic between Dale Sr and himself so well.
Jr is truly thankful to hear of HP Sr's depth of emotional connection to Dale Sr!
    Thanks for this!

Lock this one in a vault.
Jr., the best day your dad ever had in racing was when he had the field behind him and you were right in front of him, the top three cars on the final lap at America's Race.
There's one thing you can be absolutely sure of.
Your Dad was happy, ear to ear, when he passed to our waiting place.

As someone that was interictal with cutting the roof of Dale's car in Daytona, he was a "true friend". His death hurt so bad that, I gave up working @ DIS after 28 years. His death hurt as much as the loss of my father. Just watching this, I felt a tear running down my face, even today.

Very powerful this conversation was. That certainly would have been a very difficult event for you or anyone to go through that day. Thank you.

You also hold a place near and dear to the Earnhardt family. You were someone giving their best efforts in Dale’s last moments. Thank you

Growing up i cant remember my father telling me he loved me. To me he never needed to.
It was a different time back in the 1960's and 70's, when inwas growing up.
We would hang out all the time. Mostly me and him.
He would watch Nascar races with me and asked if i really liked this, and i said yes. He said cool we will watch whenever we can then.
He would watch wwf wrestling with me and ask who i liked.
I watched Clint Eastwood westerns with him all the time. Years later we would watch the Dirty Harry movies and Any which way movies.
Then all the Smokey and the Bandit movies.
My father and i could sit and watch football games or anything for hours, not daying a word to each other. I just liked being around him.
He liked having someone to watch his movies with.
He always supported my love for cars and wanting to be a mechanic. Even though he had a Masters degree from college. He wanted me to do what i wanted to do.
I always knew he loved me. 😁
Miss him still and he passed away 23 years ago.
Since i have kids now i always tell them that i love them.
    It's a different time now.
Kids need to know that you love them.
You are more of a man when you tell your kids you love them in front of everyone. 💪🏾
And Yes, i even tell ny kids i love you but i dont love you that much.
When they want to watch something goofy. Lol 😂🤣
    I watch it anyway.
    Thanks to my father.

This portion of the Hank Parker interview put a huge smile on my face, as we all know we’ll be able to see and be seen by our long-lost loved ones once our time on this Earth is through.
Thank you, Dale Jr., Mike and Hank.

Love Hank Parker for sharing a side of THE INTIMIDATOR that he was one of maybe 3 people that saw Dale as a man and even then, he was INTIMIDATING!!! Dale Jr. I promise you will see your precious Dad again. He's also always with you. He's your personal GUARDIAN ANGEL 😇🌟🙏🙏 And I would be willing to wager that your Precious Daughters have seen your Dad at different times. He's always with you and watching over you and Kelley and your other siblings but he's closer to you and Kelley because of what you have accomplished on and off the track. I also know he's so proud of what you and Kelley have done for the sport of Nascar and carrying on THE EARNHARDT LEGACY WITH LOVE AND GRACE. KEEP THESE PRECIOUS PRICELESS TREASURED STORIES COMING AND PLEASE THINK ABOUT PUTTING THESE INTERVIEWS IN BOOK FORM. I WOULD LOVE TO READ AND REREAD THESE PRECIOUS PRICELESS TREASURED BLESSINGS THAT ARE PRECIOUS MEMORIES FOREVER 🙏💞🤗💞🙏

Yes, Hank Parker is an awesome guy! Many know him from his outdoor channel, he had a great video a few months back titled, Does God Really Love You? Where Mr. Parker talks about ROMANS 8:38-39 and how it affected him with a friend. I just love Mr. Parker's heartfelt demeanor, could listen to him all day. ❤
