Thank you for the instructions ,shirt is very nice ,perfect explanation , I'm really excited to try, I had a Roland but it didn't do rhinestones or anything can't wait to do my projects on the cameo 3🤗
Omg thank u so much! I have the cameo silhouette but couldn't figure out how to use it for tshirt pressing so I boxed it back up n was going to get rid of it. Thank u so much now I'll keep it n start using it.
Thanks for the great tutorial. I do have a question, can the transfer be sold as an "iron on" transfer or it can only be heat pressed? Thanks again for sharing your knowledge with us. God bless you all. Amen
Wait... I've watched twice. Do these things self-adhere?, I mean... just by pressing them on the t-shirt will have them stay on the shirt? :) On what materials with it stay? Only cotton? Others, as well? About how many washes do they usually go through before coming off?
Hot-fix rhinestones have to be heat pressed in order to adhere to anything. If you take care of them, the stones shouldn't fall off. I recommend turning the shirt inside out, or hand washing to preserve them as long as possible. Here is our Fabric Guide: indd.adobe.com/view/6452e0de-4c24-43d1-b1cd-6fef0970c1fb -TRW Bri
Ok, when you are brushing the rhinestones, how does it flip them over? I mean, seems the stone side would stick down just as easily as the flat side. You make it look so damn easy!
Hey Tina! It's because it is so **** easy! :) When you brush the stones, if they fall in upside down, there is a gap between them and the flock. Because there is a gap, any stone that comes along that is right-side up will scoot it out of the way and replace it, thus falling in correctly. Because it is in correctly, there will be no gap because the flat side is down. :) TRW Nick
I have a couple questions I hope someone can answer them for me because I really wants to start doing rhinestone transfers. I have a cameo 3 and heat press and I usually make vinyl shirts 1. Are the materials needed for rhinestone transfers • Magic Flock • Rhinestones • Rhinestone transfer tape • Brush ?? 2. Is Magic flock what's to be used always, and what is it actually called? Like, is it a type of vinyl? Is it just for rhinestone transfers?? I don't really understand what's to be used for the cutting or what i should search for 3. When you spread the stones on the template, are they supposed to be facing down with the flat side up?? or the other way around? Thank you!
Hello Teshia, 1. Yes, those are what you need! 2. We recommend using magic flock to do the stone templates. It is not actually vinyl and it specifically made for stone transfers. You would use that material in your Cameo and cut it that way. 3. They should be facing flat side down. They will be forced to face that way and will not brush in otherwise. - TRW Richard.
So I am about to purchase the rhinestones. What size do I purchase? I see there are different sizes listed in the Silhoutte. Does the program automatically select the size?
Thank you can't wait to try to do this. Question what image is best an empty image like what you have or a full image with a solid mass? like for example I am a die hard Dallas cowboy fan and I tried to make the star and it was an absolute fail... scared myself away from trying
Hey Michelle! You should definitely be able to do something like that. If you're still having problems with it, give us a call at 941-755-1696! We can help. 😊 - TRW Haley
Hello..do I need a cameo 3. I have a cameo but not the cameo 3. Also do I need your program to do my own stencils for rhinestones? I want to start doing shirts but maybe think I need to start with vinyl not this. Any suggestions?
How would you recommend going about using a template that is meant for stones that are two different colors and different sizes? (a more complex design)
Hi great tutorial, i was wondering ( sorry im new with this) how many washes does the strass resist? can i appy them into jeans? Greatings from Argentina
Hello, Stones should last on you shirt for quite sometime and withstand many washes. We do recommend washing the shirt inside out with no fabric softener on a gentle cycle and your stones will last beautifully. Unfortunately, stone do not stick to fabrics like denim. I hope this helps and let us know if you have any other questions! TRW Kaitlin
Ok I have vinyls for tshirt pressing is their a way for me to use my cameo 3 to cut any vinyl design I want? Plz help cuz I don't only want to do rhinestone designs.
Thanks for watching, Veronica! Yes, you can layer Rhinestones over most types of HTV, just not glitter. The texture makes it hard for the adhesive to stick - TRW Shannon
I don't have a magic Flock setting on my design addition. Not sure what setting to use. I used the rhinestone templet setting and it didn't cut out all the holes.
Hey Vanessa, You can find those settings on our website under Support > Resources > Documentation > Cutter Specs and Recommended Cut Settings. :) TRW Nick
I just bought my first silhouette cameo 3 and your videos have taught me everything i know thus far! question: why does my piece of vinyl slide all over the place when I set it on top of my cutting mat & load it into the machine to be cut? my machine starts cutting but the vinyl moves around so it does not cut properly. i am using the vinyl pack that came with the bundle pack i purchased, it is from craft-e-corner and is 9x12, if that helps. thank you so much!
Vanessa, It sounds like your mat just isn't sticky enough to hold your vinyl down. Have you tried taping your vinyl down to your cutting mat? Also, is it a new mat or has it been used several times? TRW Alexis
30 mins after leaving a comment, I realized that I actually had to peel the blue part off the mat to reveal the sticky side on the cutting mat. Can you tell I am a complete newbie? Thank you for replying back to me so quickly. I have subscribed to your channel, you guys are fantastic!
If you are using more than one material how do you know what temperature to set your heat press on? For example: if you use rhinestones and glitter or smooth htv and glitter?

when adding the rhinestones to the template did you put the shine up or the glue up
Dena,
When brushing rhinestones into a template the stone side should be up.
Having the stones upright will allow the transfer tape to be used properly.
TRW Casey
Which software are you using to create graphics? And which type of cutter?
Jeff,
Lisa uses Silhouette Business edition for her designs.
The cutter varies between Silhouette cameo, Portrait, and Curio.
TRW Casey
I have a new cameo 3. I ordered the rhinestone kit so I could get some of my templates cut. Is it just the silhouette brand that gunks up my blade to where it has not successfully cut through a single design. It'll cut half perfectly then no longer cuts. I have tried pausing in the middle to clean the residue and build up off the blade, I just can't always tell where it stops cutting until its to late. Help please! So tired of wasting time and material. If I order magic flock will I have the same problem?

We've never used the Silhouette brand so we can't really speak from experience, but the template material does seem to clog up blades often since it is a stickier material and it's thicker. :/
TRW Alexis
So is it normal to have to stop mid template cut to clean your blade off? New blade new machine. The videos I watch of templates you guys cut look flawless with no stopping?

You can try, but it is difficult to get the even temperature and pressure rhinestones need for proper application with a home iron. They may not adhere as well and you risk them falling off - TRW Shannon
Can I use the Cricut maker?
Yes you should be able to use the Maker to create this template - TRW Shannon
Using the same steps you used in your video Instead of using a T-shirt I want to use a hoodie. Would I get the same results ?

Hi Lisa. Can I import my own design and cut using cameo 3? thank you.
Jeli! You will need the Designer Edition upgrade of Silhouette Studio, but yes! Designer Edition will allow you to import SVG files. There is even a larger upgrade called Business Edition that will allow embroidery, eps, ai, and cdr files in addition to SVG. - TRW Lisa
