My first lantern rebuild. Fire it up Saturday

I’ve been buying up old rust bucket lanterns to see if I can repair/rebuild. I’m not restoring them to new. Just trying to fix them enough to be operational. I might put a little spit polish here and there. Thanks Mike Mohr for all your help reviving this one.

I like it went people care enough to clean them up . Colmen make a good product so it does not take much to get them working , it nice when people take the time to clean them up make them look good again .

Great job Chris ! Those propane's are indestructible nice little lantern.... One hint. don't tighten the nut too tight on a cold vent cap.. When they heat up they may chip the porcelain when they expand....

I recently got my dad’s old propane Coleman lantern... I imagine it hadn’t been fired up in at least 30 years. It still had an empty tank on it... I put new mantles and a fresh tank on it and it fired up the very first time I tried it. Hard to beat the older Coleman stuff. Nice job Chris!👍🏻

I might have a few propane lanterns. At least 6 in the house. Handy up here when the power goes out. Yours looks great. Single mantles are easier on gas and mantles. Thank you for sharing your lantern with us, Chris. Stay safe and stay warm

Oh yes that sure is a 70's model with that shade of green. I remember all the appliances in folks kitchens being that color. Very nice job Chris.

Nice job on getting it running. I picked up an older propane lantern similar to yours at a local junk shop awhile back. It fired right up. Those little lanterns are pretty dang dependable.
