As so video ideas, from a 1st time jeep owner I bought the same gladiator as you have, color and all. Can you explain all the off road+ button and disconnects and when you use them properly. No Rocks to climb in south Louisiana but plenty of mud
the little box on the air intake is a “muffler” it quiets some of the extra sound that the new air intake produces in an attempt to keep cars less loud from what i understand
It is a helmholtz resonator. As others have stated it is used to cut down on intake noise, either droning or high pitch whistling. the shape and size is usually designed to reduce specific frequencies. I have worked for Audi for a long time, most of our intake hoses have a resonator somewhere in the line.
The box serves as a noise reducer and helps in instant torque. The bigger volume of pre filtered air you have. The betterinstant power you have when mashing the throttle
I believe the box on the intake is basically a Helmholtz resonator. Like one of the other commenters said, it acts as a “muffler”. Basically as air passes by it, the air inside the little box resonates at a specific frequency, that frequency is used to cancel out a frequency they were most likely having trouble with during NVH tuning (noise vibration and harshness).
just bought my own JTR today.. And the first mod was the Smart Stop Start module.. I hate stop start. the second mod I did is fender welt.. keep small rocks out of the top of the fenders and the third is the Hood shocks that you put on the jk.. they say it will work on the jl.. sooo. Ill just keep following along. Thank you for all the info.
Smart Stop Start....That's the company.. bitch to put in cause I got large hands but ive tested it out.. it works and no codes or error messages on the evic.
Well had the modual in for a week now .. no codes.. and just got the hood struts in this morning... Wanna say Thank You for your videos.. those struts are super nice... wish they came from the factory with them... Again Thank You and keep the videos coming.Shane
Looks good man. I’m just waiting for the diesel to come out and I’m gonna buy my wife the gladiator. I got a JK and love it. That’s not going anywhere lol!
Looking forward to the upcoming videos, sounds like a lot of good stuff planned for all 3 jeeps. Definitely would like to see more of the LJ though. I think 37s are the right call for the gladiator.... that perfect sweet spot with a small lift.
37's!!! I've been watching your videos for a while now. And that's without even owning a jeep lol. I own a hummer h3 that I REALLY enjoy. But I am now a owner to a 2014 jeep wrangler. I'd love to do 40s really bad but don't want to go all out as with yours. I'm hoping with 37s it's easier to jump to as mine came with 35s.
I just got the momentum for mine and combined with the cat back , Hikeit it’s a noticeable difference! Video suggestions how about LiveWires ignition upgrade? .. Awesome video Ben ! 🤜🏼💥
I’m not too familiar with the livewires, I know Ripp made an upgrade, however I’m not sure it’s worth the money.. if it’s time to replace them anyways, then it might be worth it, but I’m not convinced on the performance aspect. I will look into it and hopefully do a review in the future
Do not need a tuner to adjust the tire size and everything on your Gladiator you can do it in the control system behind the steering wheel I watched other videos
I have an AFE exhaust that sounds great on my JK. Hope you use one of those exhaust with the Gladiator. With the sound being put out from the air intake it sounds like a star is born. Awesome video with sound, speed and a crazy driver. Now unless you spun around facing on coming traffic you should show that part of the video you purged from us. OMB
opt for a 3.5 in. suspension lift, the full kit (everything, meaning all of the suspension components that compliments a full 3.5 in. suspension lift)!!! As for tyres go for 33.0 in. or maximum 35.0!!! DO NOT GO FOR 37.0 in. under any circumstances unless ur doing the Rain Forest Challenge in S E Asia!!! trust me on this my friend!!!
I have no idea why they would ever go to those screws on the air intake. It seems like they listen to everyone on what they want to see on the new jeeps, except 2 door truck. Maybe cause they knew people are going to change it out. Also if you remove the inner front fenders on JT you should be able to run 37s with no lift.

A/T KO that I am currently running have the same load capacity 3195 lbs. @ 50 psi that the stock Michelin LT265/70R17/E 3195 lbs. @ 80 psi tires that came off my Dodge Ram do. Yes, the sidewall is not as stiff and they have an overall lower psi rating but same load capacity.

Love your videos and information... but it seems people need a tutorial on the workings of a gas combustion engine in regards to a CAI - In the simplest terms in this order, the engine needs air, then gas which is ignited - all at the right proportions while expelling gases efficiently out of the engine. If any of those things are not addressed at the same time you will not make power (more) efficiently. A CAI will do virtually nothing on its own except push lots of cold air into your engine where it’ll go to waste. The engine needs to meet the increase in cold air with more gas, which means you have to ignite it bigger and faster (better plugs, wires and distributor). Then you need to get rid of the gases. That requires a better exhaust (headers and muffler). Then the engine has to be tuned so all these additions work together (tuner/programmer). In general, none of these performance parts on its own will make more power. An engine is a complete system thus changing one piece messes up the rest of the system. Want a CAI? Then also add better plugs, wires and distributer, coils, headers, muffler and a tuner/programmer. Do all of this and then you’ll see gains. On my 2011 Jeep Rubicon 3.8, I added a Volant CAI, RIPP plugs and wires and RIPP headers. I run 37’s with 5:13’s. All together, using 93 octane, on the dyno, the additions made 50 extra HP at the rear wheels. Power expanded throughout the rpm range which was great. I saw an increase in gas mileage from 15.2 to 17.9 at 70mph on flat highways. For me, the additions were worth it. It's a totally new driving experience. And no, I don't represent RIPP. Hope this helps.
i have a 2010 jku with 160k miles it still runs really good but i have the 3.8 and someday instead of rebuilding that motor id like to put a v8 in it but i dont to go to the expence of a himi, could i get a 4.7v8 out of and old cherokee or something like that? i figured you would be the guy to ask, what are the engine options other than the high dollar ones!! thanks
Technically you can put whatever engine and trans combo that you want, the issue is making it work with the Jk system. Most kits work with the more expensive V8s and they come with adapters and ECMs that will retain the Jk dash, controls and other electronics. The only way to run a V8 that isn’t common (HEMI or LS swap) would be to use a standalone system and make your own entire control system (custom dash, custom shifter, etc). Honestly in the end it’s easier to use a DIY kit from a company like RPM extreme, source your own engine and trans that they reccomend, and do it yourself. It’s not a cheap swap at all sadly.
@@JKGearandGadgets Maybe you created a run on the product. Awesome influence. Do you have any problems with leaks when it rains? My gladiator is a soft top I like how easy it is to open the top. But the driver side it doesn't leaks it floods really bad.
40s man. Everybody doing the 37" and still hitting the belly and tail. Longer wheel base needs bigger meats. It will still ride nice. I think you will waste money going up in stages. Go right for the forties. Lift it right, gear it right and build the axles right.
I’m in the market for a new Jeep, if you didn’t have the JKU and you didn’t have the gladiator, which one would you choose? I’m southern ca resident, brother has the JLUR I love it but when going camping I see spaces can be tight, we don’t do anything insane rock crawling wise just basic fire trails up in big bear and other trails here and there Brother is saying going with JLUR so we can do more technical trails like Moab and rubicon Short term end goal for me is obvious lift tires (probably be going straight to 37s) it will be rubicon either way and start saving for Dana 60s long term once the 44s give out I’ll also be asking wayalife and trail recon the same Hope to see on trail some time !!! Keep up the good work
It depends what you want to get out of the Jeep. The JT is a better all around vehicle I feel, especially if you need a truck. The JL is a better Jeep. Honestly it comes down to what you need, do you need a truck? Or just like the look?
JK Gear and Gadgets don’t really need a truck have ram 2500, love the thought of being able tow my boat naked to the lake (Jeep obviously lol). I meant to say I was trying to decided between the (JLUR OR GLADIATOR RUBICON) I love the look of the gladiator, love the look of JLUR just on fence, no rush just curious on your thoughts, thank you for replying

PLEASE BUILD THAT LJ!!! JK built axles would do excellent with 37s
A cold air intake won’t help you out a lot unless you do something about your exhaust system. Inhale improves but exhale is still restricted.
A Hemi will fix all of those issues. Lol

Sell the current LJ wheels (the ones you put on the JT) and keep the JT stock wheels on the LJ because it gives the LJ a bit of a modern look

Hello, full size trucks are so big now I was thinking of getting a Gladiator. Sorry if I missed it, but what is the offset on these wheels?
I think these are around 4” backspacing.
Oh yippy yi a ki o! Jeep mods.
If ur wondering why, Well with 37.0 in. you can forget wheel travel!!!! 37.0 in. suits best with a 6.0 in. or more suspension lift!!!
37s work fine with a 2-3” lift,
Do you have any problems with leaks when it rains? My gladiator is a soft top I like how easy it is to open the top. But the driver side it doesn't leaks it floods really bad.
I have not had any leaks
Seriously would you recommend a 2015 Jk Rubicon owner to buy one?? I’m thinking about it.
Replacing the Jk? Or keeping the Jk?
Looking good
Dude I did a 3.5 lift on 37s and love it. Video coming soon!
40s man. Everybody doing the 37" and still hitting the belly and tail. Longer wheel base needs bigger meats. It will still ride nice. I think you will waste money going up in stages. Go right for the forties. Lift it right, gear it right and build the axles right.
Nice shirt!
could not find that CAI on amazon.
You have a nice house man
I’m in the market for a new Jeep, if you didn’t have the JKU and you didn’t have the gladiator, which one would you choose?
I’m southern ca resident, brother has the JLUR I love it but when going camping I see spaces can be tight, we don’t do anything insane rock crawling wise just basic fire trails up in big bear and other trails here and there
Brother is saying going with JLUR so we can do more technical trails like Moab and rubicon
Short term end goal for me is obvious lift tires (probably be going straight to 37s) it will be rubicon either way and start saving for Dana 60s long term once the 44s give out
I’ll also be asking wayalife and trail recon the same
Hope to see on trail some time !!!
I meant to say I was trying to decided between the (JLUR OR GLADIATOR RUBICON)
I love the look of the gladiator, love the look of JLUR just on fence, no rush just curious on your thoughts, thank you for replying
Alex Zickefoose if you already have a ram then I say go for the JL
Alex Zickefoose are you keeping the ram? Or trading it in for a Jeep?
JK Gear and Gadgets my dad wants the ram I’ll be giving it to him, still can use it whenever I need, but I also have a 94 ram 3500 cummins in great shape I’m keepin that regardless
Looks good on 35’s. Your wife is going to beat your ass.
Dude the LJ looks so crappy on 33s 😂
Yea that is why she is going to beat your ass.
Are the wheels with 35's you put on the Gladiator Mickey Thomson's?
Yes
Any idea on what’s the offset and back spacing on those steelies?
4.5” backspace
You going to get bedliner for the jeep Gladiator?
