The hourglass was picked up - the red one puts you at 50 from 100 seconds, which is half. The TAS does this to have less of a timer at the end of the stage. It probably only saves like .5 seconds, but that’s why the life/timer did that.
It was due to the Potion, if I'm not mistaken, it duplicates the Time but makes it go faster (way faster) and the Hourglass immediately makes time to "Half the original time", so no matter how much time you got, it turned to 5k BUT going down faster due to the Potion. Risky AF if you ask me 😅

I beat the Gameboy version of this as a kid, fun game.
Very impressive…25 min. I have never seen it beat this fast before! WAY TO GO!
