- The Louisville Leopard Percussionists (4th-6th graders) rehearsing Crazy Train by Ozzy Osbourne.
The Louisville Leopard Percussionists is a non-profit organization offering extracurricular music opportunities to local children at little or no cost. Please help us keep our program going by donating at www.louisvillel...
The Louisville Leopard Percussionists began in 1993. They are a performing ensemble of approximately 60 student musicians, ages 7-12, living in and around Louisville, Kentucky. Each student learns and acquires proficiency on several instruments, such as marimbas, xylophone, vibraphone, drum set, timbales, congas, bongos and piano.

I don't know whether to laugh or cry for joy. Someone hug that music director. We are NOT doomed! Hope abides! And that lil dude with the rock on tee shirt can wail!
Ditto this!
Yes indeed - hope abides!
I'm laughing and crying....Faith restored!!.
'Someone hug that music director' EXACTLY!!!!!
Oh yes! To revive rock classics in this way is truly inspiring and visionary
These kids are one HUGE reason why we should keep the arts in the schools. GREAT
Seeing this for the first time in 2024. These talented kids would now be in their late teens, early twenties. It would be great to know if any continued in music! Maybe a couple are on Broadway or studying music in college.
I hear ya!!! I really want to know what these kids are doing now with music!
Thisssss
Maybe they can all get together for a reunion…..2024 IS Crazy Train!
I love how they open with the chant and how jumpy and enthusiastic they are
Excellent OZZY WOULD BE PROUD OF THESE KIDS ,VERY TALENTED HATS OFF TO THEIR INSTRUCTOR. CARL!!!!!!!!!.
Ozzy was amazed when he came to see them on Ozzy and Jacks World tour. He was so gracious.
This showed up on my Google for you page in 2024 these kids are amazing
Never get tired of this. This is why we work in education.
I hope some or a few of these students watch this again and see it brought me joy 11 years later. Great to hear.
This class needs to do a reunion performance. Well done. Humanity is incredible sometimes.
Bruh. 11 years ago these kids grew up to be total bad asses for learning that song on percussion!! And the girl on bass!! I'm not even there parents and this made me tear up with pride!
This turned around my very bad, no good day. ❤️❤️❤️
That girl playing the bass is fucking rocking it🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
I show this to students all the time. I've never see a music program like this where I live in Ontario. I'm lucky to have a glockenspiel and a non-chromatic xylophone! I wonder where these kids are now in their musical journeys!
Rockefeller grants
I salute the world’s greatest music teacher!🫡🫡🫡👌
Those children are amazing to take a song like crazy train and turn it into something so beautiful and you can tell their having the time of their lives doing it and I have to give my congratulations to the music teacher She is beyond amazing and they could have never done it without her guidance how she ever even come up with the idea of taking classic rock and turning it into xylophone music I’ll never know but it really shows the talent of both her and her students this video brings tears to my eyes every time I watch it
I love how this only gets better and BETTER!! Absolutely incredible
Love seeing these kids rock out like this. What an amazing thing to be a part of.
i know this is 11 years old and all the kids are now entering adulthood, but i have to say this warmed my heart, awesome song, teacher and awesome kids! i wouldn't be able to refrain from cheering and high fiving everyone there haha
Pink hoodie girl is so pumped!! So cute.
Loved it, someone on runescape told me to search for this, dont regret doing it lol. Good work everyone.
I love their music teacher unconditionally.
This is so touching, and my toes are tapping, smiling and tearful at the same time..
Absolutely Phenomenal ~ If only us adults could be this unified huh ?
All of these children are very talented, they feel their music not simply play it! That's important. It's also great how they are preserving all of the great classics for future generations. But how in the world can that young man at 2:35 do that lead solo in his winter coat? lol
Good question, but I looked closer at the other kids! There are a lot of coats and sweaters and multiple layers of shirts, so my guess is that the space they have runs on the cooler side.
This is The Best thing ive seen on Tiktok since I joined in oct 2023The work that these kids put into this yet alone the teacher, staff is AMAZING I saw one clip when Ozzy was actually there. Spine tingling 😊
Just saw this for the first time. How freaking awesome! All were rock stars. Love the little girl chillin’ on bass! What a great program in Louisville. Just checked and looks like they’re still going strong.
Why this make me cry ? Awesome!
Absolutely awesome ~ the world needs more unity like this
Teacher: "my job here is done" and then fades away like they were from a Stephen King film.
Когда совмещаются две самые чистые вещи на земле, дети и музыка, получается такое чудо.
You should know, you have Diana Ankudinova!❤
This band teacher is doing it right!
Ozzy Osbourne - crazy talented kids
Can we take a second to appreciate the kid on the bass and how he already looks like a rock star?
Ryan Rognas Thanks! (but he's a girl). :)
...aaaand just like that I feel like a garbage person.
Ryan Rognas LOL, it doesn't matter, you pointed out the same thing I saw, the awesome bass player and the impeccable tamborine person ...
Ryan Rognas I took notice of the bass player too. They're all amazing young people appreciating good music.
Ryan Rognas That kid is a GIRL!
Just reading that Ozzy himself donated $10,000 to this group. What an amazing and very talented bunch of kids!
I was offered the chance to be here and do this, and it turned out he was actually there to help :( I missed out hard
Mike rudell I have watch this video I don’t know how many times and it always brings tears to my eyes but I haven’t watched it in quite some time till today and I read your comment where Ozzie himself actually donated $10,000 to this group that is amazing I knew if he ever seen this video or heard they’re amazing recreation of one of his greatest hits ever he would be mind blown and by him donating $10,000 to the group I was obviously right it’s not every day someone can take a song like crazy train, and turn it into something so beautiful
Ozzy and Sharon are wonderful people!
Who else will freely admit to having headbanged to this? 🙋♀️😛
Hallie Harker 100% me
What the hell?! 49 people thumbs down?! Lol 49 people have hearts of STONE!! This was just AWESOME!!! I read an article about how when Ozzy heard this he donated 10K to the organization for the children!!! So awesome and really sweet to hear!!
They mistyped for sure. Or don't know how to use it..
They're dead inside!
Extremely well done. They had me with those damn solos too. Very talented kids and very well taught. We need more of this in the world...
This is a good example of why we need to keep music in our schools. Love this!
This is not in the schools! It's a non profit group serving several different areas from a bunch of different schools!! (But, I do wish all schools had a music program!)
I love how these kids are better than my high school band....
Wisdom Bear how bad is your high school band? We have much better 6th graders
Wisdom Bear haha!
Totally not jealous. Nope...
Faith in youth is restored!
Somebody please give an award to the teacher for introducing kids to this kind of music!
Indeed Ozzy donated $10K to Louisville Leopard Percussion... 👍👍
Joseph Kerwin Right on Ozzy!
For real?
Just google "Ozzy donated $10K to Louisville Leopard Percussion"
Joseph Kerwin thats amazing
Wow! I wonder if LZ
donated for Kashmir.
Okay, +LouLeopPerc, WE NEED AN ALBUM!!! I would so buy this! Who agrees with me?
Hallie Harker me i will pay 100 dollar to buy this album.
They have albums. They rely on album sells and donations for their program.
@@tylerlane848 Do you have a link to purchase their albums? I'm totally buying
I've watched this video at least a hundred times! Sometimes 3 or 4 in a row! I don't think I've ever found anything on the web that I've enjoyed this much - it ALWAYS makes me happy. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!
Same for me!! Few things lift my mood and ease my anxiety as successfully as this video. I just love everything about it.
I agree. I play it for my students every semester. I play it in professional development programs for educators. If this does not motivate you, you are in the wrong field.
You should check out Diana Ankudinova & Aurora!❤
Anyone who thinks Band isn't a team sport should see this.
+Osiris Malkovich As a band director, I tell my kids this all the time! And I've let them watch this video to show them how it's done! Awesome kids!
+Kristy Parson xf
Nobody sits on the bench in band. Everyone has to give their all and be a part of it!
As a percussionist also, I can not begin to express how much this brought me joy. These kids are definitely going to go very very far in life
"Rock On", yeah, I like your shirt.
Thank you.
The Luigi Dude great timing on the solo, dude
The Luigi Dude you were the best, keep kicking ass
The Luigi Dude _Ozzy Osbourne just tweeted about you_
ReinaMeansQueen I know! We are legends!!!
What kind of a jerk down-votes this? These kids clearly worked hard on this and did a great job. I know they certainly are more talented than I am, and probably more than every person who gave this a thumbs-down. Keep at it leopards!
The boys either end of the middle row doing the solos near the middle and end are the best
Maybe they will play some RUSH in their next video!!!!!
THEY DO!! YYZ!!!
Hi Conor!
10 outta 10 to the music teacher
These kids came out on an episode of Ozzy And Jacks World Detour it was amazing
Mario Gonzalez Ozzys reaction filled me with joy it was great
This must be the real School of Rock!!
You guys are awesome!
love it!!! where was this music teacher when I was in school?!?! 😃
at the school that can afford a dozen or so marimbas.
KC Drummer Um pretty sure this is a non school music class. You have to pay to go here! I was referring to her music choices!
It isn't through the school, but they don't all have to pay either. It's a non-profit that works mostly off of donations, or payments from those that can afford it. But I agree with your original statement. Awesome teacher, and the kids really seem to enjoy playing.
Kayaking4fun Right!!! My music teacher made us play Bach.. I would have much rather played Ozzy!!! LOL
Right
Is this the School of Rock? Can I join?
I believe it is. It sounds cool! I want to play in that school. All I can play is a flute cx
Uh, ok?
MikatheWolf15 Dont underestimate the flute, man.Its one of the most important instruments in prog.
I'm not underestimating the flute. I'm saying it would be nice to know how to play another instrument like this. Flutes are nice instruments with good sounds, but some instruments can play certain things better than others.
Ryan Begley really??? You're living proof that we need a better educational system.
red head kid with the rock on shirt is awesome. they should have given the whole solo to him he woulda killed it
Uh. Speaking of that. That miiight be me.
The Luigi Dude Thanks for doing so much hard work so this would sound so good!
The Luigi Dude
So how did that song get picked? Had anyone ever heard it before?
EvilJack2 The director, Diane Downs, picks songs we can play, songs people have suggested to her, and songs she likes. This songs was a mix of all three reasons. I'm now in the steel drum group called the Steel Leopards.
Randy Rhoads loved teaching music. I have no doubt he would have been overjoyed watching this.
I agree.
John Westcott I cried thinking how much Randy would have loved this...miss you Randy...
Just made a donation after hearing about them on NPR. For some reason this performance brought tears to my old, jaded eyes.
KIDS!! You are SO GREAT!! I am a teacher and just watching this made me cry! You are the BEST students ever!!! LOVE you all! Fantastic, Great, Wonderful, TERRIFIC job!!!! :-)
Ozzy *just* tweeted about you! Congratulations!
Seriously, this is what i call goosebump music. Chills of the good kind. You're awesome. Congratulations on your performance, and fame.
Be sure to check out our Louisville Leopard Percussionists UA-cam channel for more! 😄 Hope you enjoy!
I found out about your group via Facebook and came looking for more after seeing the Zeppelin video.I can't not smile while watching all these amazing kids play, even more so when you can see that they really get into it and have fun. Keep rocking, kids, and don't ever take music for granted.
I think anyone who knows original version, cried.
This is f@@@@@ amazing
Very talented kids and teacher!
wow, they did a great job!
Carol R Very impressive indeed!
They should play "Eye of the Tiger." It's obviously their theme song!!! :D Congratulations to all the children & adults who made this go, it is wonderful. Every town in the US should have this.
The kid who played the first half of the solo ON A FREAKING XYLOPHONE needs a recording contract, or studio work as a percussionist. His dexterity here is intense. Not missing a single beat, no notes out of place. He is slick. He is calculating. He is a menace. I'm shook.
Shane Bailey that’s my little brother! His name is Paul. He’s wicked talented but unfortunately aged out of LLP but now plays percussion on our high school marching band. Thank you for your kind words :(
:)*
Thought this was perhaps no better than "cute," 'till it got to the solo. Very, very metal, y'all.
I was one of those soloists.
The Luigi Dude Rock on, my friend.
If my music teacher would have gotten the class to play this, I might have participated a lot more
Took my breath away! You guys don't know the feeling of taking part of an orchestra and feel the rush, the unison. I miss this! I love it!!
I will readily admit to having headbanged to this video...
I'm speechless....who ever orchestrated this is brilliant. I could watch this all day. The lessons, dedication and talent this took is mesmerizing. And lets not forget the diversity of it.......
This teacher should be nominated for best teacher of the year!
Beautiful..yes I agree great teachings..and every child is moving with rhythm and enjoying what they r doing..talent there is GREAT..
Honestly, I just started crying after watching this video. Those kids are the best!! Please continue to be so f*** awesome. I love you
Man that was actually good I'm surprised. That was like the exact song w/ some solos!!!
I get goose bumps listening to these amazing kids, kudos to the teacher, this is beyond amazing...
JAMG me too... its chillingly awesome...
Real life "School of Rock!" I love the kid in the winter jacket jamming during his solo at roughly 2:40. That is rock n' roll. Rock on little dudes and dudettes!
Once again excellent job Guys...
How can people give this a thumbs down?
can we take a moment to appreciate the last soloist??
This is like the best thing I’ve ever seen on UA-cam!!!! My music teacher showed us this and everyone including me was..... TRIGGERED... after I got into Ozzy Osbourne I recognized the beat. So I went to this video, and it was the same song! Well I didn’t really look at the title or anything bcuz I’m lazy but I was TRIGGERED once again
This makes me happy.
Well done kids!
If we had more music school classes like this we would have less garbage on the radio passing for music!
I hope my kid has educators who can reach him like this educator reaches his/her students. Wonderful job to whom it may concern and that goes for the great bunch of talented kids.
I just noticed that there was no sheet music. These little ones MEMORIZED their parts. **DOUBLE BRAVO** Also, congrats kids on your gift from Ozzy. Well deserved. Rock on!
I love this! I keep watching it over and over cause it gives me a warm fuzzy.
Daddy loves it MAMA.
Good, I'm not the only one
That's amazingly well synchronized. I must admit I was a bit skeptical at first, since I've listened to my fair share of sub par performances by children (not to sound too cynical), but this was very, very good!
If the teacher was any good(and they are just by listening) they would've taught them to use the drums as a means to keep the rhythm consistent, after that it's just practicing their parts, and if each person has a specific part that is short to play it becomes easier to remember, plus they can play off each other when there's more people. It's a similar phenomenon with cadences, you might not hear the original voice but using the person next to you and a simple rhythm you can sync pretty quick.
9gag got me here and I love it. Respect to kids and Ozz-man alike. keep up the good work.
I like to think Randy is looking down from rock heaven and smiling.
Those kids did an amazing job.
That’s pretty cool... if they would have let us do this in school I would have stayed in band... ♥️
Wow they are awesome! I work for the schools and they brought tears to my eyes! Great job kiddos! You are all awesome!!!
Christie im in tears too. was almost afraid to admit that. i am a proud mom and these kids and the program is doing something so amazing.
I thought I was the only one @ brought tears to my eyes
These kids are great. The ginger kid with the Rock On t-shirt did really well in his solo. Love this video :)
Ozzy approved this... Donated $10,000 to the program for the kids to keep up with the good work.
As a music educator, I can't tell you how happy this video makes me!!! I'm sharing the link with all my colleagues :-)
That was completely badass!
This is AMAZING! Any parent who would have an issue with this selection is blinded by ignorance. Just because it's a Black Sabbath/Ozzy Osbourne song doesn't make it "evil" or "bad" - hell, go look up the lyrics to "Crazy Train" and see what I mean. These kids rock! Those solos blew me away!
These kids are awesome but what it really shows is a dedicated teacher!! Thanks to this awesome music teacher who set high expectations for the kids and went above and beyond to make things fun!!!
to say this is awesome would be an understatement! this was fantastic!
In my music class my teacher played this for us and this was my dads favorite song made me cry.. :(
This brought tears to my eyes watching this. These kids are amazing!! No sheet of music, they did it by memory. You can see how much they enjoyed themselves. They will never forget this. I believe this will change some of their lives. Some of them maybe lead to become beautiful musicians. I hear a lot about taking away the music program from schools and that's horrible. #futuremusicians #savemusicprograms
you go bass girl!! you're awesome! stay with it.
These guys and girls are amazing!!!! I wish I could have started this young :(
Perfect tempo, perfect time, Randy Rhoads is applauding you! You should all be commended as students and teacher. Giving the gift of music is awesome, More-More-MORE please. The one thing I do not understand is how a person talking to themselves on youtube gets millions of views (and is a millionaire now) and something that can actually inspire and energize our youth has 70,000; I am baffled. Keep up the great work Kids you are amazing.
