Yes, I have this game above wind Waker and ocarina of time, which was my first zelda game, so that’s saying something. Idc what people say. This game is deserving of the name Zelda
I 100% agree with you! Skyward Sword is by far a bad game and is easily one of the best Zelda games, I never had a problem with the motion controls either tbf! :)
The problem was that you had to buy the motion plus adapter for your Wiimote controller. Not only that, the gameplay was clunky and it felt so restricting with that pointless stamina bar and graphics. Its Majoras Mask for N64 all over again, the difference was that Majoras Mask was a good and interesting game.
@@nerostile333 I didn't have that issue cuz I already bought Red steel 2 and Wii sports resort as well as the skyward sword bundle that came with the golden Wii remote. But you're right, it is clunky.

This is my second favorite Zelda, right after Majora’s Mask. SS changed the game with the story, gameplay, and soundtrack. Definitely my favorite game I was ever at a midnight launch for… and by midnight launch, I mean I went to my local Walmart at midnight where no one was there for the game, and the lady opened their first untouched box full of fresh copies just for me. 😂😂😂
I'm surprised Skykeep is your favorite! After I beat the game, I hardly remembered it. Overall, a great argument in defense of Skyward Sword. A game that is imperfect, but fun.
Everyone's always shat on Skyward Sword but I've never understood the outright distain people seem to have towards it when, whilst flawed, it's clearly a great game. Twilight Princess and Majora's Mask both hold the top spot for me for favourite Zelda games, but even out of the 3D Zeldas I honestly feel I prefer this to Ocarina, and even though Ocarina itself is already a brilliant game. Just hearing any of the music hits different
I actually think now that the initial excitement for BOTW has died down there are a lot of people who miss the old formula and would still consider OOT the best one. There's a lot of talk about people wanting traditional dungeons, weapons, music to make a return to the series as they were poorly implemented in BOTW. When BOTW2 releases I don't think it will have the same wow factor anymore and people will really miss the oldies
I struggled with the fact that no one in Skyloft seemed to care about what was happening on the surface. For me this highlighted how disconnected the game was. The breadcrumbs story also did not help. This would have been the perfect game to play as Zelda rather than Link, since her story off-screen seemed thrilling.
I pre-order this game already and I'll probably pre-order it again in 10 years 😅. The Hero of the Sky is such an interesting and human Link. I love him.
Jaffa (the creator of GOD OF WAR) said it best you want a story read a book! He was spot on! We play games for gameplay! I didn’t mind the motion controls they just didn’t work that well. Hopefully it’s better this go round.
For me this game and Majora's Mask are the best Zelda games: SS excels all games in almost every aspect: story, dungeons, combat, NPCs & character development, lore, sidequests, superb soundtrack, beautiful art style, upgrade mechanics.
As far as games with the best dungeons, I would give that to twilight princess personally. Skyward sword is close second tho. It has the best story imo tho
@@ZelRando yesssirrrr. Also when u said if u had to choose a favorite game and Twilight Princess was one of those possibilities other than Majora’s Mask I jumped with glee and ecstasy😌😌😌
The return of the king!! I personally have this as my favorite Zelda game... maybe even top game of all time. I have very fond memories of this game. Great time playing it. I believe a lot of the hate is very unwarranted. People will love the game now that you can use a controller
No, a lot of it is warranted. The game is small, repetitive, hand holding, and filled to the brim with padding. Thats not to say its a bad game, but many of the complaints are totally justified.
Infamous has returned! Great way to make a comeback! Excellent points that I never really thought about for Skyward. I always give the best dungeons to Twilight Princess but I admit the time stone mechanic really added a lot of great puzzles to the dungeons and quite literally a whole new dimension. I hope you'll continue to feel well and if this strong return is indicative of future videos then I absolutely am here for them! Also I've already pre-ordered my Skyward copy. Now to get those joy cons!
Twilight Princess has fantastic dungeons and probably has the best dungeons as a whole to be honest! I just wanted people to look past the dodgy controls and minor issues people hated with Skyward Sword, hopefully with the HD Switch release we can all come to terms with the quality Nintendo put into the game, the joys cons look awesome👌😛 Thanks for the support as always friend!
Skyward Sword was amazing. The Motion controls worked fine Imo. The literal *only* flaw that I struggle replay, is Fi. First play through blind she was agro, thereafter... Ouch. But characters, story, even gameplay Tbh. The quiant colourful graphics made what's otherwise quite a heavy story really, quite enjoyable and light. Was superb. The Imprisonsd isn't so bad. Just launch up using the wind geisers to the top and glide on his noodle, bonk that sealing spike back in. Takes a couple moments. First few plays before doin that I *hated* that bean toed pleb. But ignoring his digits, he's a cake walk and doesn't actually interfere with gameplay at all.
The only reason I disliked the imprisoned so much was mainly because I feel they could have replaced it with better content, but overall it was never that bad to be honest :)
@@ZelRando it could definitely have been better. Even if using the Hoard system akin the final battle for example, but escalated difficulty of enemies you'd face. Given it'd make sense for aa hoard to try and defend any revival. Albeit that may take from the final battles vibe. If they insisted on keeping the revival pattern anyway. Honestly I agree they could've done better with the time and maybe even used those parts for some more free exploration which is one thing the game lacks. After I could just bonk it down in 2 mins though it wasn't much a phase at all. Id guess the Devs intended it be done that way generally and thought it a minor interruption to keep Demise in people's mind opposed to Ghirahim becoming the main focus. I can see why they'd use it as such I guess. There was a lot they could've done instead though.
@@SombreroPharoah Yeah I believe it was more of a way as keeping Demise as the main threat, overall it's still a top 5 Zelda despite what believe think
Nah the vast majority of people love the game dw. Incredible game. It just feels otherwise because it's become a Twitter trend to whine about it as much as possible. The negative people are so much louder while the people who love this game to pieces mostly just can't be assed to get into long ass discussions on social media
Can we take a moment to laugh at @Clã Induction @Oyo Mina and @8B CBL 's faces for being so desperate for attention thinking that their opinion is always better than everyone else's.
It was important to the story to make the Imprisoned appear so often. Demise gets stronger and slowly breaks the seal more often. I didnt mind to fight him at all.
@@Ianmar1 You're actually supposed to have a slightly different strategy each time. Most people didn't realize the 2nd phase actually wasn't supposed to be done the same as the first.
@@amandaslough125 If I recall properly, the second phase introduces arms, and a cannon. I suppose that I never figured out the new strategy. What was it?
Skyward Sword for me was hit or miss, but the hits really hit. Here's my perspective on a lot of the game's mechanics and what I think of them. Fi: SHUT UP PLEASE GOD JUST SHUT UP NO I DON'T CARE THAT YOU'RE A PART OF THE MASTER SWORD FOREVER JUST PLEASE SHUT UP I'VE HEARD YOU ABOUT 50 TIMES NOW. Dungeons: The dungeons had some great ideas and puzzles, but the mystery of how to solve it is somewhat let down by an oversized Vex talking your ear off the whole time. Other then that, the dungeons are generally good across the board, with the hits like the Ancient Cistern or the Sandship being some of my favorites in the series. Upgrades: The upgrades system is bloody brilliant, having to collect different materials and such to upgrade your gear is a fantastic idea, and the upgrades and potions are very unique as well. Combat: I liked the combat in general, the different enemies requiring you to swing your sword or parry with your shield in different ways to beat them, it felt great. Artstyle: I like it, it's somewhere between the more stylised artstyle of The Wind Waker, but not the more realistic style of Twilight Princess. I feel like it's just let down by the Wii's lack of power, if this game had been made today with the same graphical style, I bet you it would have looked gorgeous. Backtracking: The backtracking segments were a decent idea, but they usually just ended up being kind of annoying, you've got to go back to these areas several times throughout the game for assorted reasons. Normally that wouldn't be an issue for me, but the quests themselves just kinda felt like padding out the game to be longer then it really is with fetch quests and annoying challenges, which feels like a waste of my time. Story: I wasn't really a big fan. I get what they were trying to do with the various characters, and I do like what they did with Zelda and Ghirahim in particular, but the rest just feel kinda boring. Groose never really made me feel anything towards him, and the various side characters in skyloft never really felt that interesting to talk to. Ghirahim however is fantastic, and every time I saw him appear on screen I knew that he was going to do something interesting, he's a stark contrast to the kind of bland villain that is Calamity Ganon. Which makes his disappearance at the end of the game all the more disappointing, Demise is a villain that pretty much just comes out of nowhere and doesn't really offer much beyond "Aaagghhhhh I'm so evil now let's fight.", but getting a source for where Ganon comes from is always nice. Overall, Skyward Sword to me is a mixed bag, it tried a lot of new and interesting stuff, and some of it worked, but some of it really didn't. I'm hoping that the remake for Switch will iron out some of these more annoying things like Fi, and make this game into the great game it should have been.
I played Skyward Sword when it was first released, and I didn't understand the hate for it. And frankly, I still don't understand it. People keep bringing up poor motion controls, but this always left me scratching my head. The controls when I played it worked perfectly. I recall having to recalibrate it only once, otherwise it was fine. Was I just lucky and got a good game and controller? Others have said that it's too linear, not enough exploration. Frankly, I didn't care. Fi never even bothered me that much. Midna is still the best companion, but Fi wasn't as terrible as everyone said she was. And that's just addressing the negatives. I completely agree that this Zelda is the best in the series, hands down. I was never so motivated to play through a Zelda game, and in a way, never so immersed. I truly wanted to save Zelda. I wanted to reunite with her. And all the times where we saw each other at a distance was such a tease! And then when you finally meet up with her, only for her to seal herself away... I was literally screaming at my TV screen, shouting, "No, no, no, no, no, no!" For me to get so emotionally invested like that... Yeah, Skyward Sword has the best narrative in any Zelda game, hands down. Which is why that, despite my preferring Breath of the Wild's gameplay, Skyward Sword is my favorite Zelda game.
Zelda is my fav Zelda game, I just love the soundtrack, the story and heck even the gameplay (Though I did get kinda frustrated with battles like The Imprisoned lmao). Maybe because I'm a sucker for romance, but I just really liked how they actually made you care for Zelda in this game. For all the other Zelda games, tbh I didn't really give two fucks about her, but in Skyward Sword the bond that they shared was just TT It really made you want to save her and get to her asap
skyward sword also requires you to pay an additional 25$ to have the loftwing amiibo for fast travel. this is insane. they should have at least included that amiibo with the game. i think that any game port or remastered game should not cost even more than the original game but should cost less instead. the game already have been worked on and its just a matter of reprogramming some things to make it work on a new system. not worth the price of a full brand new game which required more development. the problem is some people out there would keep buy anyway and they wont lower their price as long people keep buy them.
Amiibo is the worst thing Nintendo has come up with for the fans. More cheap plastic toys that pollute the environment ? No thanks. Made tones of money for Nintendo for sure ….
Skyward sword is far from perfect but so is botw Both does great things on very different aspects The ying and yang of Zelda games I hope botw2 implements more traditional elements such as dungeons, proper boss,an engaging story and more But botw2 will no doubt keep exploration as great as it is in botw
I love your content man! Keep on going, you got this! Have a blessed day, and I look forward to more skyward sword content following the remake's release!this game was my childhood, my dad and I played through the whole game together. So much fun! I grew up with Wii, and this was one of if not my first 3d Zelda game, so I never had any of the gripes other people had from overinflated expectations.
I'll be totally cool with this port if Nintendo: -Makes the pacing a little better -Eases up on the super strict linearity -Removes Fi, just straight up removes all of her interrupting -Makes backtracking less frustrating -Give us button controls when playing docked, so far they've only shown footage of button controls in handheld mode, Shigeru Miyamoto did not say that there would be button controls in docked mode. If they do all of this, the game is still not worth 60 dollars, not even close. But it will actually feel like a worthwhile port that actually has a reason to exist.
Videos like this are sadly needed! I love Skyward Sword. I agree on the Imprisoned. Fi didn't bother me at all though. I found her to be compelling throughout the game and especially later on. I loved the motion controls too, but I understand they're not for everyone. And the Silent Realms....yessssss. Like watching a suspenseful movie.
The silent realms were great! Giving players the option to play with or without motion controls will certainly help to make Skyward Sword more popular! :)

in your opinion what puts OoT over the other 3D zeldas? I respect your opinion, but i feel that every other 3d zelda (spare BotW) has taken OoT's formula and expanded/built/improved on it in some way. It was a groundbreaker at its time for sure, and a legendary game, but I always see it as the precedent for the rest of the 3D's
@@splattershah8943 As someone who prefers Wind Waker, i think i can understand the love for Ocarina. Its just a really well balanced, and focused game. No sections ever really overstay their welcome, and everything seems to have a purpose.
Are Hylians becoming extinct? The previous Calamity was 10,000 years prior to BotW/AoC and was a victory for the kingdom. Assuming the population didn't suffer any or fewer casualties during the previous Calamity than the latter, there should be significantly more people in the kingdom. This is also assuming a generation is the same in the Zelda universe as it is in real life, about every 25-30 years. There should've been a pre-Calamity population (AoC/BotW) of at least 100,000, if not much more. However, based on the number of towns and villages as well as their size, that doesn't seem to be the case at all. In fact, the population seems to be barely sustainable. Even 100 years or 3-4 generations after the Calamity, the unaffected population has barely increased. I can't help but wonder, what is happening in Hyrule for the Hylians to be plagued by such low birth rates? Food, water and shelter isn't an issue as all can be found in abundance throughout the kingdom. The only other possibility I can imagine is there is something about Hylian anatomy that causes either low pregnancy rates or low birth rates.
Skyward sword is my least favorite 3D Zelda, but that’s not a bad thing. I love SS and it’s story. I think it’s linearity and story is good for people getting into the series because it has a solid foundation of the lore and history of the Zelda series. I agree with you on most of what you say in this video. However, Botw Zelda is still the best and most fleshed out Zelda imo. Not saying SS Zelda is bad though. She is a close second
I completely respect your opinion and wouldn't disagree with botw being the best, it offers to best value for money with very enjoyable gameplay mechanics! :)
I'm glad you love the game and its story! Though I actually disagree about it being good for getting people started in the series. I tell everyone to play at MINIMUM OoT, WW, and TP before playing Skyward--because of its impact. This game's story genuinely changes everything about the lore of the entire series. I won't spoil in a public comments section, but the stuff that goes down in SS makes you unable to look at a lot of things in the other LoZ games the same way. As Skyward goes on, you start to put the pieces together and think back to tons of moments in the other games, and the feeling you get when you realize what this means for certain moments is something I'll never ever forget. Most everyone I know who played it after playing a bunch of other LoZs felt the same way as well, that the experience is def enhanced by having played the others first
The Wii ruined a whole generation of Nintendo for me. I absolutely despised that gimmicky pile of crap. I'm very happy to get a chance to play this game BUT Nintendo shouldn't have closed off many fans to that motion control crap. I'd like to see Metroid Corruption get the same make over . .. Still hoping for that Prime 3 game pack .
I like the review, but I didn't like how you spoiled literally every major scene in the entire game for people you are trying to convince to play it for the first time.
Agreed, especially the late game ones. Though honestly, Nintendo's own trailers spoil everything except the final battle, if you know what you're seeing.
It's definitely not a bad game but I've never had the interest to revisit it. The motion controls were fine and the dungeons are pretty great by Zelda standards, but everything else is just "good" at best in my opinion. I appreciate their efforts on the cutscenes and storytelling, but it definitely wasn't the most interesting; granted it gave us a good insight into how the timeline started but so many plot points felt so artificial as if they only existed to get you to collect something or enter a dungeon somewhere. Characters were well done, but they were not THAT interesting enough to carry the player through the story, maybe with the exception of Ghirahim. The parts in between dungeons felt like a slog too; so many tedious quests and puzzles to solve along the way that it felt like a chore getting to the next dungeon. Again, I appreciate the effort in trying to make the most out of recently explored areas, but these areas were nothing interesting to traverse, to begin with, both from a visual and level-design perspective. The sky is the only conceptually interesting overarching area in the game and they did so little with it that it was no more interesting to explore than simply freely moving a camera around the sky of any other game that has ever existed. I want to love this game, but I really can't bring myself to ever play it again. More power to you if you're finding a lot to like about it, as there is, but I personally don't agree that there's enough good in this game to make it enjoyable. I can't recommend this game to anyone except a diehard Zelda fan that never got the chance to play it and was curious to try it for themselves. There is a good Zelda experience here but shrouded under a rather badly designed game with uninteresting areas to explore.
I disagree with pretty much all of this, but respect your opinion. What do you mean when you call the in-between-dungeon parts tedious? That might be my first time hearing that complaint ever
@@splattershah8943 The game doesnt feel like a real, lived in world. It feels like a video game, designed to waste my time. Everytime they make you fetch something, or repeat an area, or repeat a boss fight, all i see are game designers patting me on the head and condescendingly telling me to get them a drink before I’m allowed to see the next room they designed. Botw and SS are very much opposites. Not just the linearity and hand holding, but the “feel” of the game.
"Skyward Sword HD Is The Only Zelda Game YOU Need To Play" I hate to disagree... . . . . . . . Skyward Sword HD is the only Zelda game you SHOULD play.
Yep I loved this game. I played it once, then after watching a review or two years later, I played it again to see what people didn't like bc I tend to have some pretty serious forgiving goggles on when playing games haha, and I wanted to experience the game again. And it was great. It has similar dramatic and engaging story like Twilight Princess, but unlike any Zelda game I've played (which unfortunately is few, I'm kinda picky), I loved the inventory structure and the ability to upgrade gear. The fact that this is the origin story also made the plot that much more engaging. I also loved those exact dungeons you mentioned the most from that game and share your opinion. Sky Keep is without a doubt the best Zelda dungeon ever, bc of the creative take on it and the excitement to see that it's underneath the roots of the game, Skyloft. Here come the forgiveness goggles. I really had little issue with the motion controls. There were times where it wasn't doing what I wanted but usually I could attribute that to a lack of precision on my part. I really liked the variety of attacks that came with motion controls, and how it impacted bossfights to add to the game its own creative twist. Another complaint is that the game is linear, and I was fine with that bc I'm always fine with a more direct focus on a game's plot. I actually don't think I would have the patience to play Breath of the Wild bc I get bored of gameplay quickly in most cases, with only one exception as of late (Destiny 2). Therefore I'm more deeply engaged when the story is more front and center, so the linear aspect of the game was actually a plus for me. The only complaint I can agree with is Fi. She solved every puzzle for me before I even tried anything and that was annoying for sure. And having come from Twilight Princess, where the best ever companion is featured, it wasn't a great experience to then get someone like Fi. In the end though this most definitely is a must-play like you said. Great video.

The ironic thing about Breath of the Wild is it was very heavily inspired on the very first game in terms of freedom and exploration. You would think it would feel more like a Zelda game instead of the opposite. Then again Miyamoto also wanted a futuristic Sci-Fi Zelda game so...

I can't wait to play Skyward Sword HD, a week away I am so pumped for this remaster on the SWITCH
Never met you before, but wonderful video :D all-time favorite LoZ and you best believe i can think of NOTHING but this remaster. 3 weeks ❤️❤️❤️

I love him.

It's by far the most underrated Zelda game and like you said, the Switch release will definitely help more people appreciate Skyward Sword :D

It was important to the story to make the Imprisoned appear so often. Demise gets stronger and slowly breaks the seal more often. I didnt mind to fight him at all.
Then they should have put effort into making that fight not tedious.
Who wouldn't buy their favorite Zelda game again in hd with better motion controls
😄
I also think this game has the best music in the whole series
Good to see you back at it, Infamous!! A great video as usual B)
Thank you as always Hazel! :P

For all the other Zelda games, tbh I didn't really give two fucks about her, but in Skyward Sword the bond that they shared was just TT It really made you want to save her and get to her asap
skyward sword also requires you to pay an additional 25$ to have the
loftwing amiibo for fast travel. this is insane. they should have at
least included that amiibo with the game. i think that any game port or
remastered game should not cost even more than the original game but
should cost less instead. the game already have been worked on and its
just a matter of reprogramming some things to make it work on a new
system. not worth the price of a full brand new game which required more
development. the problem is some people out there would keep buy anyway
and they wont lower their price as long people keep buy them.

I'll be totally cool with this port if Nintendo:
-Makes the pacing a little better
-Eases up on the super strict linearity
-Removes Fi, just straight up removes all of her interrupting
-Makes backtracking less frustrating
-Give us button controls when playing docked, so far they've only shown footage of button controls in handheld mode, Shigeru Miyamoto did not say that there would be button controls in docked mode.
If they do all of this, the game is still not worth 60 dollars, not even close. But it will actually feel like a worthwhile port that actually has a reason to exist.

in your opinion what puts OoT over the other 3D zeldas?
Okay, now what's the only MARIO game you need to play? (Honestly this concept could become a series of "only ___ game you need to play."

Most everyone I know who played it after playing a bunch of other LoZs felt the same way as well, that the experience is def enhanced by having played the others first
@@splattershah8943 that’s an interesting POV. I never thought of it that way because it never really blew me away though, but I get what ur saying
Botw and SS are very much opposites. Not just the linearity and hand holding, but the “feel” of the game.
