Agreed. The XY screen on the D1 was spot on. Remember the high frequency coils of the D1 were only single frequency. You had to choose one. In my experience with the D1, getting close to 40 kHz had a noticeable effect on the accuracy of the XY screen, VID and target tone. It made undesirable targets hit like coins. I pulled a lot of shotgun pellets that sounded and looked great on the XY screen at 40 kHz, and items like buckles made the XY screen act wonky. The takeaway here is higher frequency on the D1 finds more stuff, the trade off is less confidence in the target. The D2 is simultaneous multifrequency. Set your XY screen to 3x zoom. Set your maximum frequency 35.32 kHz. This will bring the D1 XY Screen accuracy to the D2 XY screen. If you still don't have the accuracy of the D1 XY on the D2, lower the maximum frequency to 28.57 kHz.

Stubble.. Gotta love it :) I find that when it is a certain length it can stop you swinging by jamming the middle of the coil.. I often wonder if a simple flat cover on the bottom of the HF coil ( maybe made from an ice cream container lid) would be worth a try in stubble..

The XY screen is a graphic or like an oscilloscope of what’s going on in the L and R headphones. Good targets have an excellent phase relation. That’s why aluminium foil had a strange out of phase sound as do hot rocks and coke. I’ve used deep program before on stubble and found absolutely loads of deep interesting copper coins. Why not detect a little higher, slow down and use reactivity 2.5 - 2?

@@The-skillschool funny thing I met you 10 years ago when we both were staying at a hotel I think was called The Stag. you programmed the "hot" program into my Deus before it was included and also gave me a beta charging clip with larger pins. well both worked great. my hammered coin production immediately significantly increased. Evening Gary used this programme yesterday 18.08.2024 is exactly as prescribed with the same equipment.Whilst I picked up many signals there were very few straight xy screen lines most were jumping around all over the place which I presumed to be iron so did not dig .Concerned that I may be missing some good targets as a result Can you help?
@@parkerhome1150 Thanks for your feedback, as a rule I tend to dig targets with an unstable XY if they are quiet. Rember a button with an iron loop will not give a good XY. I guess no matter how we look at it we will always be missing some targets. On some sites especially heavy iron it may be worth running the discrimination a little higher.
I've tried using other programs in the stubble on the Deus but always end up back on the hot program. Oddly, I like using the gold program with the ORX on the spiky stuff.

Is the deus 2 more noisy than the 1? I have the 1 and will not upgrade, but i will go for the Trippel score when i need a multi freq and waterproof machine

Thanks Jason, yes the same will work with the D2, possibly better in Deus Mono. But I don't think the XY screen is as good as the D1. Probably because of the multi frequency.

I think you can still set up a modified Pitch or Hot program.
