@@highlandcyclesI love the old school shut off the bike and the light goes off. The last thing I want is another damn switch cluttering up my handlebars or a switch on the mask that I forget about. I think a lot of these harnesses are too damned complicated and Overkill for us guys in the East. Most of us only need a simple headlight and tail light. I've never used or needed heated grips or a fan in my life. My husky has a fan stock and it's never come on once in the 5 years I've owned it. I've never ridden in the cold where I needed heated grips because it never gets cold here. Simple harnesses for simple tasks...
I have a Baja Designs Squadron Pro wired through a switch and wired direct to the battery. Rode for over an hour tonight, also with a fan on and it ran fine.
Have you talked to any of the companies about having the stator rewound? My 23 is showing up next week and I need more output for hot grips and a light!
Thanks for more good content Morgan! Also big thanks to Dan at True North for making awesome shit, and responding to the random message I sent him the other day haha!
Need heated grips, fan and light, so I’ll be waiting to see what you figure out. Thanks for the video. Did they drop the stator output from earlier models? My 2018 tx 300 ran all 3 and never had a problem. Does the TBI use that much stator?
Irecently read on KTM Talk that if you disconect the battery, on the new gen of bikes with "E" power valves, you must reset that valve. Is this correct / true?
There's a ton of people that want to know about the TBI but there's a ton more already on TPI and they really want to know about the get Race Kit if it compares
Will this work on the 250? I've been super critical of your/the tbi bikes after my bad experience with a 22 tpi te150i. My salesman just called me, he has 23 250xc with my name on it. I hope im not making another mistake like with the 22 husky tpi bike.
Yes it will work on the 250. I don't think it will be a mistake. There is always a bit of a gamble on a first year bike but mine has been so freaking good.
So.. use this for a street legal kit? I see true north has a kit but says xc-w. My local shop finally got three xc's in. Going Monday. My roads are mostly atv/db legal but state roads are not. Mostly going to be on fast camp roads powe lines and woods. Will it have enough stator power for lights signal Speedo etc. ?🤷🏻♂️
Probably not. The new bikes have just about 22watts leftover after making power to run the bike. Depending on the light you run that’s not a lot left for other stuff. Now here in CO all we need is a headlight, tail/brake light, horn, mirror and DOT tires. There is enough for a small LED tail/brake light but that would be about it. We use battery powered horns to get past inspection here so I think we could do it. Not sure about adding speedo. The blinkers and stuff wouldn’t be a problem because they aren’t on much. Hope that helps.
Not a bad price for quality material assembled in the US. These are not made by 12 yr olds in China. It's cheaper than tracking down the parts and building one yourself.
Brian I understand that 155 sounds like a lot. But this harness is equal to or better than OEM. It’s also not just wires taped together. There’s a relay and a trigger that make it “smart” too.
@@highlandcycles .... Yes , you are right . I think but can't be sure that the guy who checked the light was the same guy that was trying to find a decoder to fix the flashing 5 lights. I could be wrong but I think so.
Appreciate the review of the harness Morgan. Great videos as always.
Thank you!!
Your stuff looks awesome, need to make some stuff for Beta’s!
@@buysomerice we are, in the works right now.

What are you looking for and what model beta?
They made the Harness for my 2020 300xc and it works awesome True North Moto's makes quality parts that work and last
can you stop saying $12,000? If my wife hears how much they actually cost, Im screwed
Hahaha, yeah.
I always tell my wife half price ,ggg.
"oh wow they send me all this stuff for free because i commented on their facebook, awesome!!"
Nice that it is complete and well made and that the relay switches off the light shortly after the motor stops.
Yep. Really nice part

Awesome man. Thanks for the info

I haven’t yet. I’m letting someone else figure that one out
Nice neat install👍
Stickign with my Sherco, 200watt stator... interested in voltage when fan is on and light is on. as well as heated grips
I hear ya. Of course the Sherco was the only bike that just up and quit on our death march ride in September.
Got one of those harnesses from Dan too.
I watch your channel for the 2023 300xc vids
Would the XC-W stator be able to swap in? I’m sure the answer is out there somewhere but i haven’t been able to find it!
No it won’t

Heck yeah

Yes they dropped. It’s unfortunate really. We will get it sorted though.
So how’s it going now that it’s been a while? Any issues?
Zero issues!
Yes!
Would you dare run a bigger light with the stock stator?
No
Irecently read on KTM Talk that if you disconect the battery, on the new gen of bikes with "E" power valves, you must reset that valve. Is this correct / true?
No. At least I have not had to.

Well, I don’t have one of those coming but we have 2 of the TSP relocation kits we are installing soon so I will be able to compare those.
Get the longer XC-W brake line.
I have one. Just gotta install it. I forgot I had it.
Can someone help me with a part number for the longer brake line? Struggling to find one
Dude, you're fucking awesome! You've answered every question I have with this new bike! 🤙
Awesome

Brake light?
You could. No problem
Yes we have a taillight and brake light option.
How about a fan??!!! We need a fan before a light IMO
Not for me. Days are short and its cold here now. And its more of a harescramble, go fast bike than a hard enduro bike
@@highlandcycles seems pretty capable of both after riding it today. Better than my current 300 that I hard enduro on. It if cold tho, f this
@@grutzmac super capable. Just for what I’m using it for the light is more important to me. It will run a fan though. Just not a lot left over.
That is cool... but honestly $155 for a wiring harness? Come on.. that is absolutely ridiculous. Just my 2 cents

I know who that is and we were at the same race. We have tested with a 28 watt light for over 5 hours without issue.
