Alex - no explanation necessary- any human being truly understands - I got memories and recordings to remind me of all of you guys - thank you for that
Alex, you absolutely don't owe the public a thing - you and your brother brought us years and years of beautiful memories with your music that will stand the test of time and echo through the years to come long after we are gone. Thank you for this beautiful gift.
There is nothing sadder than the fact that I live in a world where AVH is still among us but for obvious reasons sold his drums. I completely understand his reasoning, I don’t know who I’m more hurt for, Alex or us. Alex you owe us NOTHING. Thank you for everything you have done. God bless AVH.
Yes, he misses Eddie, but it's what they did together and it would never be the same with anybody else. So instead of feeling empty He gave it up. The man is. Got principles
That's exactly how Vinnie Paul felt after Dime died. Vinnie didn't even look at the drums for two years but he started to have that itch to play and I think it was because there was still alot left in the tank for Vin to do as a drummer. Alex was in his late 60s when Eddie died and being older hurts on a different level because there's very little motivation to return to the craft. As a lifelong fan of Van Halen, I deeply respect Alex Van Halen’s decision to step back after the tragic loss of his brother Eddie. Eddie’s genius on the guitar was unparalleled, and his absence is profoundly felt by all of us who loved their music. However, it’s important to remember that Van Halen’s magic was also due to Alex’s incredible drumming. Just as Eddie inspired countless guitarists, Alex has inspired many drummers, including myself. His rhythms and energy were a crucial part of what made Van Halen so special. I thank Alex, Edie, Michael, Sammy, and David for the incredible music and the amazing memories. Real prosperity is to walk well with any brother. Alex, do not give up. If u do, u lose.
His book is his take on the Van Halen story, from what I can see it’s not an end to end story very much based on the on the David Lee Roth era prior to him leaving the Band in the mid eighties then nothing so perhaps a second book will come but if it doesn’t he leaves a lot on the table. It also misses out on talking about the fall outs and bad behavior - the way they screwed Michael Anthony out of his shares in the Band is missing so it’s not a fully rounded leave nothing on the table just a snapshot of a certain period
I remember how I felt when DLR left and when he put together his own band I was more into them than the Van Hagar, Eat em And Smile was a better album than 5150 in my opinion
This video came out 18 hours ago and he talks about the Best Of All Worlds tour kicking off in July. I went at the end of August in Nashville. They did both eras of Van Halen but mostly Hagar. Hell, they had more hits then and Sam was with them longer.

Alex with Ed, left his trust of eggs in one basket. You cannot trust life, not even a brother as he is made to fight against. It's just that Ed and Alex bonded together against the world. Once it was gone there was no more eggs in the basket, maybe a wife hounding him. It wads all lost all he never cultivated a trusting relationship anywhere else. Yes I understand, where money and ppl and managers squirm it, it is all about money and screw you. It is few and far between to find one you can trust, to walk well with another. Real prosperity is to walk well with any brother. Alex, do not give up. If u do, u lose.
I know the feeling
I have a different opinion on that and that's my opinion
Salute, Alex.
4:09 yet, they f’d him in royalties and publishing cash.
I didn’t hear ALEX say ONE WORD in this Video !!! Gimme a break.
Is Wolf involved?
Alex has never played with anyone except Eddie.
If he loves eddie he can make music with Wolfgang remembering eddie all the time!!
Is that guy at 12:01 with the Van Halen brothers, Sid Vicious?
💥 I don’t believe any of Alex’s bullshit
Alex called and left a message for you. I don’t believe your bullshit either…Love, AVH.
Why did Al and Dave approach Joe to do only Roth era songs???
They should not do this tour as much as I’d like to see it happen without Eddie and Alex there’s no Van Halen
🚭 RIP EVH 🚭
Unless he earned it somehow,
what you guys did to Michael Anthony was absolutely horrible.
poor guy.. same thing Vinnie Paul went thru. Now Alex wont be too far behind Eddie.. just as in Vinnie Paul's case.🙏🏻
Alex needs one more tour join geddy and alex
2 of my favorite bands. Would be oddly curious to see that happen
RUSH HALEN? Sounds great to me
That could be a great idea
This video came out 18 hours ago and he talks about the Best Of All Worlds tour kicking off in July. I went at the end of August in Nashville. They did both eras of Van Halen but mostly Hagar. Hell, they had more hits then and Sam was with them longer.
I wouldn’t want to see a Sammy Hagar fronted Van Halen with both Alex AND Eddie.
@@sgt.grinch3299 Yes. I’d rather see Eddie, Alex and Michael play their early songs as an instrumental trio than with Hagar.
Wow, never have I heard something that is boring as hell, nothing here is new, what's with break silence from Alex that we don't already know
Clickbait, clickbait, clickbait, don’t know why I click on this shit either lol.
Holy AI fluff piece.
When I heard the narrator switched the PA contribution with Anthony I stopped watching
Sometimes it's about the fans more so than the individual
I miss yall.
I would love to see a giant chicken foot
All of these artificial intelligence videos should be banned
Doesn't David Lee Roth play drums? I thought I saw him play in a club one night long ago. Brutish.
Tired of these bullshit click bait vids.... no content at all related to the title
Alex would look to his right and not see his brother playing guitar which is enough to call it the end.
Ed played on Al’s left.
I don’t blame him. Would probably do the same.
So its gonna be a tribute Van Hagar not Van Halen at all.
Alex and Eddie never wanted to play with other musicians. Why ??
Are you kidding? Ed played with dozens of other musicians over the years.
Stupid ai crap
Who cares about Alex vanhalen he was mediocre drummer
You’re an idiot. Listen to Outta Love Again you buffoon.
Not as mediocre as your comment - he is great , go listen to BLINK
You are crazy. Alex had his sound that was matched by No one!.
@@curbsidecritiqe2066 he was average at best and a drunk and played like it . Gimme a beeak second to none Neal had more talent in his pinky
@@ronbossier5705 and you are mechanic or a cook? He was a well respected drummer in a pivotal band.
