The bass line from this arrangement often pops into my head. Really cool video. Sad to just discover the pianist Alex passed this year. Grateful you chose to share this piece.- thanks
you know that in Taiwan we used to have this song play along when the garbage truck drove along the street to collect garbages. This is such a great great version!!! I almost can't recognize it.
Brilliant ! It is not very often that one sees and hears such a professional sounding piece by people who obviously are enjoying what they do. Jacques Loussier and Louis van Dijk would be impressed also I think. Many thanks - I will search for more !!
I do not whether I am not picking up that "Fur Elise" in this, but this is most definitely a very brilliant piece. I love it! You really flipped the whole play
Very nice, IMHO great timing, excellent playing and empathy. The bass sound is brilliant, the piano less so (Bechstein grand would bring it on par with bass). The bass-led part is great because the bassist doesn't spend all his time in demented-bee thumb position mode above the octave. The pianist is brilliant and the pathway to the classical rendition of Fur Elise is full of musical humour. Thank you so much for sharing this.
My OH My........ this is simply delightful in every way !! Thank you, Thank you.... we all would love to hear more from you....... and would love to know more about you personally/professionally. (PS: I wish my bass technique was even 1/3 of yours !!!)
Probably because it's almost unrecognisable. It's fine as jazz but anyone who likes the original piece and isn't also a jazz enthusiast most likely won't like it.
What is this type of jazz called. I've had a heard time homing down the genre of jazz I really connect to. It's this slow, almost blues type jazz. All that's missing the the soft brush open hi hat...
Men! Upload more videos of their work. You play excellent. What are your names? Where I can see more videos of your excellent work? Whether solo or duo. Great!!!! Congratulations pianist! The bass is amazing man!!!!
those are some wise words! Not everything is bound by rules or else everything would exist of the same chords and same progressions, everyone would sound the same and nothing would be original, the inportance of jazz is just to play free and give it your all and to think outside the box when you can. I played freejazz with an electric bassplayer once, al he did the hole time was play a basic steady groove. There was no point of him in being there if he couldn't let go of the stuff he had learned
This was awesome for the most part, although you guys were killing it some parts where ishy, but hey this is a improv. If you'd ever ask me to do improv for that long i'd sound awful from start to finish lol. Great job guys, you definitely don't deserve those dislikes.
@FilmComposeRaHoppe you got it right but it's not a crime to use your ring finger, and of course when you get to a certain position you can use all your fingers.
like I said, not a crime. nobody is going to think that you are less of a bassist because you use your ring finger in the lower positions. Just think of Scott La Faro, he never played in thumb position in the upper regesters and he is one of the best bassist of all time if you ask me, not as technical as NHOP but he manages to get a great tone and has no problem with intonations so why not. If it is easy for you, just go for it!

Why are there so many dislikes? What the fuck
+beatkevin20 maybe because pianist doesn't variate the theme enough? But I like the 4.20 part. But for me it takes to long till we get there.
+Kenny V It's a jazz cover of Fur elise. What did youe xpect
+beatkevin20 Man, Forgive that blasfemy
Probably because it's almost unrecognisable. It's fine as jazz but anyone who likes the original piece and isn't also a jazz enthusiast most likely won't like it.
