Please, please, please stop compromising the pool water and other swimmers by heavily layering oils and other products into your hair prior to swimming and instead wear a very good swim cap or two. Layering your hair with oils will keep the swim cap from adhering properly. Post swim recommendations are very helpful. I swim frequently and make sure to cleanse my hair post swim. When my coils are not too wet from the pool/ocean water, I will often just rinse with water, co-wash, condition and complete my WNG regimen. Chelating poos such as Ion's swimmer's poo followed by a moisturizing poo and conditioner is important when my hair gets really wet even while wearing a swim cap. It happens--it happened today. Swim caps for the most part are worn to help maintain the integrity of the pool and drain. Swim caps also helps swimmers flow. Great tips Karen, aside from the heavy oil recommendation.
Thanks for the helpful tips! I try to swim 🏊🏼♀️ 3-4 x’s a week. I don’t wear a swim cap and I try to keep my hair braided or twisted. I have noticed because I don’t wear a cap, my hair is starting to lighten a bit. However, I do manage to put in an oil after my leave-in conditioner. I also give myself a protein treatment once a month, & I will try and work in a steam treatment once a week. I’m still tweaking my regimen so I will definitely try your suggestions. Thanks again ❤
YAY! Fabulous!! Seems like you got a good plan!!! Enjoy swimming -- I've been trying to add swimming to my exercise regimen for quite some time now -- still haven't got around to it! LOL!
I went to your str to ask this same question a I’m going on holiday in May. You’re the best thank you for the tips. This video will also help me decide whether I will put braids in or not. Thanks your the best🫶🏾
Great video! My daughter just joined a swim team so these tips are very helpful! When my girls swim I usually have their hair in a protective style such as knotless braids or twists. I do apply a conditioner on their hair even with the knotless braids. My question is after they rinse their hair in the shower, should I also shampoo and deep condition their hair even in the protective style?
Great tips! Living in FL I do my share of pool and salty water swimming. I kind of do some of these tips but not to this extent. I will be doing them for better results. Thank you!
Love your videos! Thank you so much for the tips. I plan on being in the pool daily this summer. Will the pre swim hair routine also work for gray hair? Please let me know. Thanks again.
I agree with @luwanabennett1054 but for different reasons 😂😂 great tips but before I started losing my hair and I was travelling, I would go in and get a fabulous style that would last the whole time till I get back home so no chance of taking it down, mussing it up with oils or conditioners or worse, flattening it down under a swim cap! 🤣🤣🤣
This is so helpful! I have a few questions for non vacation swimming. If I’m swimming twice a week in a chlorinated pool, should I be shampooing with a moisturizing shampoo each time and using a chelating shampoo at the end of the week? Also if this is a regular part of my fitness routine, when would I do a protein treatment? Thank you!
Great timing-just started taking swimming lessons. Thank you.
Wonderful!
awesome!

Hey there! Thank you so much for your detailed feedback from a swimmer. I appreciate it 💜
@@KarenofCurlHouseI really needed this since I am in the pool 2-3 times a week.🫶🏾

YES YES YES!!!
Would those steps apply to ocean water?
Yes yes yes … because it’s salty

hahahahahahahahahhahahahaha! I don't blame you on that one! We typically get our hair 'done' for vacation! LOL!
Great tips, but I can't swim anyway! Lol 🤣🤣
LOL!
I didn't learn to swim until I was an adult. In my "learn to swing class" there were all age. It's never too late!
@@CharTurner6928 Thanks! 👍♥️
