Japan has the BEST paint brushes and inks. And there is an immense appreciation for carefully hand made products that we do not have in the United States. As an artist (precious metals), I appreciate it very much. ❤🙏🏼
I've often watched them burn well in movies and didn't understand why it happens, now I realize it's paper!!!! It's a delicate craft working with paper a little mistake and there's no fixing it. Masters are good.
Wow.....just WOW. Such steady hands and calmness. I can’t always appreciate lack of background noise on a video, but....here, it was clearly recorded and included as a specific choice -- the editor, the camera persons, or the artisan -- it was necessary for full effect. I love how each of these process/farm to retail videos doesn't include snappy voiceovers or soundtracks. Rather it seems as if they wish for us to focus on their minimal sensory content so our attention has fewer reasons to get diverted. And as someone with ADHD who often struggles with the bombastic aspect of pop culture entertainment, I can wholeheartedly embrace not only the content but also the presentation!! Thank you for sharing such precious and time-honoured aspects of your culture/s with the rest of the world. I feel happiness and pride in behalf of all the talented visionaries in the past, but especially the present because how can I not? 😊

This is one craft that patience is a major part. Keeping the lantern steady, not crushing the paper, keeping the designs balanced...all takes skill and decades of practice to perfect. ❤️
I watch this video and I am amazed. Japan, a splendid nation, preserves and cherishes ancient traditions despite being a very technologically advanced country. It is a pleasure as well as an honor to witness the manufacturing processes and the commitment that Japanese craftsmen put into small things, on a par with big things. honor to japan.
