Absolutely beautiful. As a young boy, I grew up in Pokagon, Michigan; a small village located between Niles and Dowagiac, Michigan. The first time The Old Rugged Cross was performed in its entirety, was when the song writer, George Bennard, visited his friend in Pokagon and the choir sang it. The church had fallen into disrepair. It was later actually used as a barn to shelter the animals. With the anointing of God, the believers raised hundreds of thousands of dollars and put the church back to its original beauty. There are monthly songfests still held there today. How wonderful it would be, if your family would visit one day and record where the most popular hymn in the world, was first performed. The entire story, can be found on Wikipedia, titled, "The Old Rugged Cross".
Amen, thank you...you have blessed me... love the vocals and the acoustic instruments. As a young boy 8-10 years old, at a small country church, on Sunday nights the song leader would take requests and I would always ask for the same song The Old Rugged Cross. I don't hear it at churches much anymore and a lot of song books have left it out. You young folks have ministered it very well.
