You have an aftermarket remote starter. Probably a Fortin evo one which can use the Honda key by pressing lock 3 times. Simply remove the bottom dash cover on the left drivers side. Then remove the 3 Phillips screws under the steering column. Remove that plastic, you will probably see the black box and a few extra wiring harnesses.
yes, this happened with my father's Honda Accord Sport 2011. It was bought used, Honda dealer had no clue it had the remote feature. I accidentally discovered it fidgeting with the remote. I had gotten it down to pressing the unlock 3x but it was a hit and miss kinda thing. Definitely needed that hold on 3.
I wasted about 5 minutes of my life in watching this video and trying it out but I finally got it to work after unplugging my battery, chucking it into the ocean, pushing my car to a hill where I then placed it in neutral, let it coast into a wall and then it started up nicely
He had an aftermarket remote starter installed in the car, you can program the aftermarket remote start to work with the original factory key fob so you don’t have to use the aftermarket key fob. He never disclosed that in the video.
Model: FT-DC3-S, ADS-THR-HA6/HA7 should be the type of After-Market Remote Start in your car. It's the 3x Lock Start. Congrats on purchasing it with the car. I've got the 2016 Civic LX but sadly the previous owner didn't add a remote start to mine. Thanks for the video though.
aftermarket sounds like a fortin they seem to lock that way , I installed one in my GM equinox and I have to start it the same way. it is reprogrammable if you have a fortin dealer or you have the no how ,computer and the unit to reflash fortin Box ,more then like lee what ever brand under dash some were around steering column.
Ok now that I now work for honda someone probably put that device in the car before they traded it in cause I see people that put ad on to a car . Now if they told the deal after the do a full inspection of the car and any after market ad on they will put that to Jack up the price to get more money out of you . But that model don’t have it option stock after market yes
My wife’s 2017 Honda Accord sport is like that but ours we have to just hit the lock button 4 times, but could be aftermarket remote start we bought ours used with 13,000 miles on it!!
It's an aftermarket add on remote stater. If you bought it from a dealer, they probably forgot to pass on the information to you...got luck there. It saved you $300 minimum.
He forgot to mention you have to rub the wires where you put the key into the ignition together til they spark so it turns on. Be careful not to make the alarm go off though or the neighbors will know youre stealing their car.
Femi Adeduro I have a 2018 Honda Civic Si, so I couldn't attempt it even if I wanted to because manual cars physically can't remote start whatsoever. I saw your video linked on a subreddit (Honda), and thought it was useful information.
What you discover on your car was an after remote starter that had been installed by the previous owner. Whoever you bought the car from failed to disclose that information to you. and it's not a hack. Any normal accord from the factory dose not comes with that option. You might want to revise your title, like "Check your Honda Accord or Civic for possible unclassified remote start installed" if you are buying a second hand cars.
I just bought a 2018 and this happened and was freaked out then I kept mashing, it was like trying to perform a fatality on that arcade mortal game until I got it right. lol
I hate to tell you, but that car of yours had an after market remote start installed because the action you are doing on the key fob is direct conjunction with several model remote starts. It's good for you but not a hack for the rest of the world. Thanks for sharing.
@@ektouge8700 non of that.. just the regular honda civic 2017 nothing like after market or push start. Press the lock button twice then the unlock then press and hold the lock for like 4 seconds
It’s an add on module that uses the factory remote as a trigger.

@@tousshong9438 thank you for clearing that up because Don seem to be confused.
That last update is correct. Lock 3 times and hold until it fires up
My car salesman discovered it by accident when he brought it out for my test drive. I press lock three times and it starts. Mine is a 2014 though.
