Amazon says that these don't exist in their inventory anymore. The link associated with them comes up with nothing.

Sam, I have an update after having the LS&S cane for a year.
The one on Amazon fell apart after 90 days. The LS& S one has a small issue with those collars on the bottom of each section, where they will separate from their section, and slip down onto the one below. They can be pushed back, but you'll need a gorilla, and several minutes. Also, the strap is in an open hole, so, if it falls into the hanle, it's lost. Users can just tie a knot in the strap above the hole. The LS&S cane has 9 sections in 54". I use it as my primary guide cane.
The Amazon cane is coming from China. The LS&S one comes from America.

Hi Sam! Thanks for this. Wanted to share that I’ve had one of these for about two years and generally, I like it. Shortly after I got it, I jammed it in a sidewalk during a walk and it bent slightly and was difficult to close, but I was able to straighten it and it is still quite strong. As you point out, it doesn’t do well on rough surfaces. Even so, I use it frequently now because it’s so compact. I will add that if you pack it in a carry-on as a back-up, it may raise suspicion with the TSA, as it has with me, because it looks like a weapon when it’s collapsed. I’ve had to open it up and show them that it was a cane. Great review! Sorry I didn’t share this cane with you sooner.

    Hey Sam.
I really like this cane. Another good place that this cane would be good for is if you are at home and need to use a cane to get around the house. I could also see possibly using this cane like if you go into a store or a restaurant to guide you through the store and stuff but when you leave the store you would, fold it up and collapse it and and if you have a sided guide with you with the sided guide with done help guide you when you go outside.

Hey there Sam! I actually just watched a prior telescopic cane video last night. These canes seem pretty great, i didn’t know anything like this has ever existed. I barely use my cane, but am trying to use it more. This cane seems pretty good for that, of corse with the tip issue, but just keep us posted if you find a solution or better canes than this one appears! Thx for what you do man!

Don’t use your white cane as a form of mobility. Use it as a way to normalize that you are blind and that there’s nothing to be embarrassed about. That’s gonna take a lot of time. But the more you practice with your cane in the view of other people, the more confidence you’re going to build. your life as a whole will improve

Glad to see a positive review. I bought this for my legally blind friend earlier this year since his previous telescopic cane shattered after a few months of use. Tho I always thought it would be cool if they made a telescopic cane like in the Ben Affleck Daredevil movie. Meaning push button and it extends or at least extends out with flick of wrist.

Oh it looks like a great backup/ emergency cane to keep in my backpack/ bag when I’m travelling as my “spare” folding cane had the elastic “overstretch” while it was folded so when I finally needed to use it in an emergency it had too much “wobble” to be safe. It was actually safer to use the cane whose rollerball I’d used to destruction (the ball split along the join line and sounded a bit like a maraca when I shook it).

Hi Sam, I’ve had one of these for about a year and a half. I’m very hard on my canes very hard. I’ve actually popped a few of the collars off of it and sometimes the handle will separate from the rest of the shaft but otherwise it’s a pretty good back up.

The cold weather issue you mentioned has actually been solved. It involves an ancient technology known as a "glove." ;)
Just having your hand out exposed in the cold to wind and rain is an issue with any cane. I just tuck knit gloves into each other and carry them along in cooler times of the year. Or swap those out for leather gloves for even colder temps. Or, gods forbid, snow or ice times, I swap those out for ski gloves. Mischief managed! ;)
Oh, and I use an NFB telescoping cane, 69 inch, as my primary cane. I love the fact it easily reduces to less than a foot and can be tucked away. I like the metal tips this cane uses for tactile feedback. I do pull out and twist each section every time. But as you said, it will collapse every so often. Especially transitioning from warm to cold temps, since materials shrink when temps drop. You get the opposite effect, expansion, as you go into warm temps from cold temps, which can lock the cane segments in place and it is nearly impossible to collapse if you wait too long and the sections expand too much. I've been using these canes for years, since they were developed I think, and preferred the older material to the new fiberglass, but that is the only option now.

Unfortunately, says "currently unavailable" on both links. Tried to contact LSS for international shipping several times a month ago, zero response... Found another seller that could ship it to Europe, though they have a minimum order value that would require me to buy 2 spare canes essentially, which isn't too great. Hope amazon will have back on offer.

Well now I know why custom cans ain’t advertising that one no more because Amazon cut them in half they were asking 70 for that one and the tip on that one that you touch tip that’s why I don’t lie on anything except indoor stuff and I use all the time in Clips mode because it’s slides over everything in collapse mode and you got more touch And you’re not killing yourself with your cane most people can’t use a telescopic game because they’re too heavy-handed on their cane. That’s why it collapses on them all the time.
