First time seeing this video. I've seen this game on BGG and passed it over. Now that I've seen you explain it, its now on my list of games to get. Thanks Rodney! Your videos have become a great resource!!
I watched this video and bought the game that same day. I immediately did a test run and didn't even need to look at the rules that much, as they were explained to me very clearly in this video. You make high quality and entertaining videos. Keep up the good work.
Very cool. I have been watching you for the past year or so and just found this old clip. I have gained more respect for you in how you have over the years put time, money and energy into becoming the great production you are today. I pray for your continued success... BTW, thanks for making it easy for me to play and teach others how to play these games. Drive on my friend!!!
This game looks fun. I've added it to my wishlist ;) I don't have any problem with the beginning. Just skip ahead if you don't want to hear it :) Looking forward to the play! Thanks for doing these.
@@WatchItPlayed Oh wow. Blast from the past! :) Hehe, ya I see what you're saying. Looking back now I think you made the right decision. Times change :)
I hadn't been convinced by this game based one what I'd previously heard about it. After watching this it's now definitely on my watch list! Also, just wanted to say thanks for these videos. One thing I've felt the internet was missing up until now was how to plays on boardgames ...I've had a nightmare trying to figure out Vampire Eternal Struggle for instance (all I can find is the instruction manual)!
I just recently watched a video by Geek and Sundry where Wil Wheaton hosted a table top vid and they played a game called Betrayal at Hill House. This game sounds and resembles that one a lot.. or maybe vica verca depending on which one came out first. Play is pretty much the same in almost all aspects and the general ideas are all similar...so if you like this game, I'd suggest trying that one out. When I watched them play it on that channel, that became.. like.. THE most wanted to play game by me (that I have never played before). This one (Dungeon Run) now joins it because the games seem so alike. I also searched your vids to see if you ever did a "watch it played" with Betrayal At Hill House, but it seems you haven't gotten around to it yet, which is no surprise considering the tens of thousands of games that exist, haha. You must get a huge ton of suggestions for games to do regularly by now. :p Anyway, as you see, I haven't advanced much yet.. only on the next game you featured.. but yeah, I had to leave a comment because the commonalities between this one and Betrayal are huge.
I love the look of this game, but I really wish they included monster models too... Maybe you can use miniatures from other table top games, like LOTR and Warhammer... and just use those instead of just having cards on the tiles?
Very very nice review of components and rules. This is what I am looking for when researching new games. DiceTower does a good job of peaking my interest, and then you finalize it with an in-depth look look. Very nice and clear audio. Can't wait to watch actual gameplay later. Do you have a list of upcoming walkthroughs you are considering doing? Thanks.
Part of the game sounds like the board game Key to the Kingdom where all players are looking for a "treasure" and the one who got it would have to escape the kingdom while other players are hunting him down.
We pulled out my copy of Dungeon Run for a night of gaming the other day (hadn't played in while) and needed some rules clarification. Came here and almost fell off the chair, lol. AHHH, it's Rodney's evil twin, lol. I had forgotten about the facial hair, lol.
this game is seemingly impossible to find. I would be very appreciative if you could offer your suggestion of a similar game to play with my young son. I like the short game time, lack of set up and simplicity this game seems to offer. the dungeon building aspect seems very fun as well. Thank you in advance
Hey Brian, I usually avoid recommending games, as I don't feel qualified to really know what someone else would enjoy, based on their tastes - but perhaps you'd like to check out our Mice and Mystics series.
You might wanna check out BOSS MONSTER which also offers some quick and fast-playing dungeon fun and has a 16bit-pixel-art to boot. And what you said about DUNGEON RUN being hard to find--tell me about it! I have been looking for this game FOREVER and now and then some copy pops up on auction websites. But you'd better not look too closely on their price tags... *sigh*
Hah! Can you believe it? Shortly after writing my comment above I have found a copy of DUNGEON RUN for 35 bucks. Private auction on ebay. Funny how things go sometimes--I'd been looking for this game for a while now.
Hi, nice video as always. I'd like to know if you think Dungeon Run is a good fit for only 2 players (my son and myself) or whether it is best suited for 3 players or more. Thank you.
I wish I could be more help here, but I don't offer opinions on games. I find it too hard to speak for what someone else's experience of a game is going to be. That said, I do think you'll find more interaction if there are more players, so if that is something you are looking for, that may be a consideration.
Mansions of Madness first edition, Wrath of Ashardalon, Small World and Space Hulk. You'll find videos for all of them on the channel, including Mansions of Madness 2nd edition.
Hehe, despite my bestial look, my mustache always has to be removed at any time to not make HER, cut my head off. :P As for the videos, I learned as well that the "free battle action" is still a battle action. E.g. basically any "free X action" is still that X action.
Stache made you the Freddie Mercury of gaming.
It was a MOvember thing, but it was a mighty stache, no doubt!

It was.... something!

Thanks Wes, very kind of you to say!
just bought this game yesterday going to play with my dad my gf and his step daughter this weekend! thanks for the great vids!
Hope you all had a fun time!
This game looks fun. I've added it to my wishlist ;)
I don't have any problem with the beginning. Just skip ahead if you don't want to hear it :)
Looking forward to the play! Thanks for doing these.
Glad you enjoyed this!
And over time I decided it was best to reduce the length of the intro, and get right into the tutorial :)

Looks like a deep and fun game. I look forward to the following videos.

Whoa, your vids are SO professionally made!
Very kind of you to say!

You could certainly add in models!
I just went to the local games store and bought the game,i'm watching the rules and reading the book to play it with friends. (my first board game)
Did you end up getting some other board games?

Glad the video was helpful!
I FINALLY WON A COPY ON EBAY! WOOHOOOO!!! :)
Congrats! Hope you have a good time with it :)

I've heard a new version of Key to the Kingdom is coming!
Thanks for the explanation, Rodney. the game looks very interesting. Can't wait to start playing. :)
Fun getting that message from you yesterday, and then finding this comment here today Rodger :)
@@WatchItPlayed and it was a message from 9 years ago. 😀
Subscribed! Love the videos!
Thanks Freddy!

nice HS expansion.
Never knew that this is "connected" to summoner wars
Neat that they tied it in.
:) hi
It has a very talisman-like feeling... or am I the only one that gets that?
Did you end up getting a chance to try it and see?
Was this your old look, or just a Movember :P?
JUST MOvember, I assure you.
