- A leopard being stalked by five cheetahs decided enough is enough and attacked the cheetahs. Leopards are one of the many animals that are not scared of cheetahs and will stand up to them no matter the number of cheetahs.

Damn just to give an idea of how fast cheetahs are. The leopard was running full speed and wasn't even close to the jogging cheetahs.
And the acceleration as well, its insane!
You can easily compare body shape of both animals
Full speed a cheetah runs 75mph which is double what a leopard runs which is only about 37mph.

Cheetahs are just very aware of the importance of injury prevention for their long term survival. Five could probably defeat the leopard but none of them want to be the one to receive the damage from the leopard.
True. If I was a cheetah in that coalition, I probably would've also run away from the leopard.
Not so even five cheetas can not defeat an adult fully grown leapord.

First Cheetah was the Mother.She was trying to attract the Leopard towards herself and save the kids.Leopard chased the kids. Mother came in the end to again make her be chased to protect the kids.
you sure thats a mother cheetah, cause all 5 of those cheetahs look like adults, and if they were cubs they would be long gone from their mother by now, so its more likely a cheetah coalition

Cheetahs are very elegant and beautiful cats and I wonder why it is that they get no respect as far as being bullied around and having their kills taken from them. I think they are endangered are they not? Anyway, I love the clips that are shared.

Even if all of those Cheetahs decided to engage that leopard in a battle to the death, several would be killed and the rest to injured to hunt. Cheetahs will never knowingly risk injury.
Lol you underestimate cheetahs so much. While a leopard is the better fighter, I dont think it can kill several of them 1v5. Maybe one get caught and the 4 would be mauling him from the back

Cheetahs are like glass cannon. Even 3 are enough to harass and fend off a dominant male leopard but then they are not that tough and if the leopard swipes at them, the injury is not affordable in environment this harsh. So even if there were 6-7, they would had run away even from female leopard because an injury to even a single will lead to it's doom. They don't take any risk.
3 lioness can barely handle a leopard. 3 cheetahs is just laughable. Tbh 1on1 I don't even think a cheetah can beat a clouded leopard. These really are weak cats. Just look at their build. They look more dog like.
3 cheetah took down an ostrich, but 5 can't take down one leopard. I think it is more about not being worth the effort.

@@mcchoco1019 Ostriches are more than capable of killing Cheetahs or even Leopards. They are very massive and very capable of killing anything much smaller than themselves. Even humans are smaller than Ostriches. And an average Leopards and Cheetahs are smaller than Humans. They (Ostriches) are equipped with powerful legs that they use to fend off prey it necessary. So yeah! Ostriches are very capable!
You could have 10 cheetah and they wouldn't take down a male leopard. Cheetahs simply lack the weapons or adaptability should they even pull a muscle.
I think it's lack of confidence , as funny as it may seem. I saw a video of one male lion vs about 20 or more hyenas ....and the lion held his own just fine. If the hyenas really went after him...no way In hell he could survive the bites of a gang of hyenas. So it seems like these situations, it appears that the lone Animal has self confidence , while the gang of there's lacks much of it....which plays in favor of the lone animal...just my opinion, anyway lol

That's because cheetahs are weak and leopards are much stronger than cheetahs. Hyenas usually travel in pack and have a high bite force that's why leopards runs to avoid injuries.

5 MALE cheetahs can't even intimidate 1 FEMALE Leopard. It's not even the fact that she isn't afraid of them despite being outnumbered, it's the fact that 5 boys are afraid of 1 girl, and they are bigger than she is. And the fact that a female leopard (who's only 2/3 the size of a male) is confident that they will scatter if she gives chase only goes to show how weak cheetahs are and that other predators know they don't have to respect them. I bet a big male cheetah probably won't even approach an aggressive caracal.

This doesn't look like the 5 cheetah coalition, it is probably the mother cheetah that is in front, with the 4 sub-adult cheetahs in the back that looks smaller, with smaller head and longer hair on the back of the neck that is typical for the younger cheetahs. And I have also seen leopards chased by the cheetah, and cheetah fighting a leopard and being able to survive.
It wasn't a coalition is was a mother with 4 adolescent cheetahs.
The front of the cheetah I think that is mum, she saw the leopard focus on one of her big cubs, so she changes changed direction and Confusing the leopard's attention.

Cheetahs sacrificed strength and claws for speed, unfortunately this is costing them their survival as they do not have claws or strength to effectively defend themselves from their other competitors.

i think the stalked leopard had reinforcement which sent the 5 cheetahs fleeing. look again and you will note as the stalked leopard dashed right across, a charging leopard darted in to send the cheetah pack scurrying away, with the startled 5th cheetah down the flank smartly making a discrete retreat. go watch it again.

I know nature has trade offs, and that cheetahs sacrifice strength for speed but they are by far the most disappointing wildcat. 5 male cheetahs vs 1 female leopard. And just 1 male cheetah is bigger than a female leopard. Cheetahs are sissies.
